CHECK-IN: tumblin'Round TUESDAY: 8/14/2018

Good morning.

Still rainy with more thunderstorms predicted. My garden is a a bit bedraggled but cleanup will not be done today.

Interesting day yesterday. After a VA appt for DH we stopped at Walmart and were waiting on the checkout line with a full cart when announcements were made overhead for all employees and shoppers to evacuate the store immediately. "LEAVE YOUR CARTS AND GET OUT NOW!!!" were the exact words, repeated over and over. So of course you know what went through my head. By the time we had reached the doors there were sirens and lights and police vehicles all over the place. We didn't stay to see what was going on---headed right for the truck and bolted out of there.

Turns out it was a fire in the back of the store. By the looks on peoples' faces, though, you could tell what everyone was thinking.

When it was over I imagine that employees had a wonderful time emptying the hundreds of carts that must have been left there. It seemed that everyone was running for their cars and not hanging around to see what was going on. The store was packed too---lots of carts full of back-to-school and dorm supplies.

Nothing much on the agenda for today. I might tackle cleaning the office. It's the only room in the house where junk builds up and it's time (well, past time) to go through papers and old mail and magazines and STUFF. Chicken chores and laundry and that's about it.

fullmahina,that does sound scary! I really do think they should have somehow alerted shoppers/employees that it was a fire, though, instead of something else.

Today it is actually sunny after a full day of rain. I was sort of low energy yesterday because of the weather, but luckily feel a bit more energetic because of the change. Today I should do a bit more housework and work on a project that I left to the wayside. Tomorrow I have a special visit to a place scheduled. Yesterday I was sort of not looking forward to it, today I am. It's amazing how things change so quickly.

Dropped the grands off, went to the grocery store to pick up stuff for Abby's bday tomorrow. Hoping that DD gets placed in her previous HS which starts later. Every year they have to wait for head counts. But the stupid thing is, her HS is the gifted school that has a wait list. Ridiculous

Going out to lunch and to see the new Mission Impossible movie with my girlfriend.

Not when you go back the next day and find even more things that you forgot the day before.
