Hi!
It will be 74º to 93º here today. We plan a quiet day indoors, so the heat won't bother us. We'll have at least one DGD here today -- the 13 year old. I plan to get the to help me get a little more done in the spare room. My goal is to have it done by when school starts. DGD1 will move the desk out tomorrow, do we'll try to put the cabinet in the closet where the desk was today. (We've moved the desk to the end of the bed by the door. Two boxes will go in the closet.
Now, better get ready!
Have a happy day! Diane

Heat index today 107-109 so heat advisory. School started today so what do we expect? Yes, August weather is back from that nice break it gave us.
No plans for today. Maybe I will get a few things done here after awhile. Watching for side affects of the new blood thinner. I experienced some yesterday so wan to be aware of what is going on.
Gotta have another cuppa. Have a great August Thursday all. Wishing for [another] cool spell Lucy

hi,hanging around home today.(so far)
will be working on the sewing areas today.really need to get the rooms in order, not hit and miss like I have been doing.
lucy have you seen the new streamline airstream campers? wonder what uncle jake would have thought of them now? I clicked on the yahoo page of mini airstreams last night. pretty interesting. they have one called a mini airstream. cute. they have increased production from ten a day to 25 to keep up with the demand.they have gone form 150 employes to over 800.
I know you are not in the market for a camper. just thought maybe you might like to read the article and look at the pictures.
we will still be in the 80', wednesday it will be in the 70;s. yippee.
start thinking of september names. do not post names till thursday. I know last night I said friday but will be gone most of the day friday. thank you.
think we did september songs or apples or schools last year. sitting on the porch with rex phyl

Good morning!
Happy birthday Lucy!
I've picked up the girls, and they are sitting on the sofa reading Louis L'amour books. I'm so surprised that they enjoy those! I remember, as a young girl, I found a small antique book in my Granny's bookcase titled Treasure Island. That began my love of books. These girls already have that love, but it's fun to find them reading some "classics."
They have also asked at what time they can get on the computers to play Animal Jam.
They arrived with several bandaids on their legs -- they went out in the yard yesterday afternoon for awhile to swing, etc., and came in with chigger bites.
See y'all later!
Molly

Good Morning Peggysue and Dog Days,
This morning in Starkville, MS it was 72º and going up to 93º with scattered clouds and the possibility of an isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon with winds light and variable.
Yesterday MJ and Hannah left to take the dogs north to Nebraska to be boarded until we all get there. They plan to drive back today.
Rachael, Sarah and I will work on getting together the things we need to take to Nebraska. The rest of the things in the house will stay here. I think the only furniture that is ours to take will be the sofa, love seat, a rocking chair, some book cases, an entertainment center, and two bedside tables the girls found in a thrift shop. Our other things are still in storage somewhere and we haven’t heard when or if we will get them back.
We’ll also take any non-perishable food we have, some pots and pans and baking dishes, kitchen utensils, the peach jam MJ made, some empty jam jars, a few dishes and cups and bowls, and MJ’s mixer that the movers left behind except for the beaters which apparently were packed. MJ also got the good news that the owner of this house would like us to move out as soon as possible because he has someone who wants to move in by 9/1. We want to be back in Lincoln for the girls to start school on Monday so that shouldn’t be a problem.
I sorted through the school supplies we got here for the girls and we’ll take those along with us and they can use them there.
MAXINE CALENDAR: Thurs 8/16: This heat just might break the thermometer. That’s if I don’t get to it first.
PEANUTS CALENDAR: Thus 8/16: THE DAILY EXTRA: Anagram: Rearrange the letters in the phrase to discover the related words or phrase. I’m a dot in place
Answer: a decimal point

I love the picture of the butterfly bush and the blue bird Lucy!!!
Diane, I forgot what, are you doing to the bedroom? It sounds like you are going to be busy moving things around in it today. Taking things out of the closet and putting things in the closet. Don't work to hard!
The only thing I have planed for today is taking Sophie to the vet today and get just her two shots!!! And I'll make sure that is all I let them do. Because yesterday they didn't show me what the total cost was going to be before they gave Samson his regular shots and the new shot for heartworms. They showed me two different papers at two different times and none of them was a total of $369!!! Because I wouldn't have agreed on that price. I would have just gotten what they had of the combo guard and got his regular shots and been done !!!! My total would have been Way less!!!! They are supposed to show you what the total cost of the visit will be before they do anything!!! I have learned a lesson to make sure they show me the total cost first!!! They also didn't explain to me that I have to give Sammy Worming meds. every six months when he gets the new shot!! They give that to you for not cost to you. You have to sprinkle it on his breakfast 3 days in a row and then take a stool sample to the vet 1 week later. I don't even know if Sammy will eat that!!! So he has to eat the worm meds. And eat the flea meds. With the combo guard just eat it once a month and your done, that sounds easier to me. OK I'll let this go because what is done is done already!!!
Doris, we where so glad to hear that you all got the house in Lincoln Nebraska!!! Now if only you could get all your things back and King would pay his part all would be great for you all. Prayers still coming your way!!! I'm also glad the girls will be going back to the Lutheran schools this year!!! Myself and our boys loved their time they spent in the Lutheran schools. Ladies, find something fun to-do today!!! Peggysue, Mo.

Lucy, I'm sorry to read that your temps are going to be so hot!!! It is 71° now and going up to 89° later today! I will be staying inside after going to the vets today.
I guess I miss out on doing the theme name for the threads because I didn't have anything to do with August name! Maybe next time I'll get to do it or not!!!

Tonight is a family dinner for Fred's birthday. Kind of a belated celebration as it was the 5th but his sister is in town from Portland and wanted to treat and included everyone in Peoria, even Maija's boyfriend. Debbie asked Maija if she had prepared him for this and she said Mom if he can handle being with me then the dinner will be easy plus he's really excited to be meeting some of my family! It turns out that Maija's two female cousins who live in Virginia have added Sam as a friend on snapchat or something like that and told him they are so excited to meet him when they're all here at Christmas and he's excited about that too. He just really loves family and gets excited, not intimidated.
Fred has gone golfing but it's foggy so he might have a delay as they won't let you on the course in the fog. Debbie has her normal day today and is taking tomorrow off since she had a 12 hour day Tuesday and also went in for a few hours Sunday. Maija has swim team practice but will be allowed to leave early to get ready for the dinner. Her coach has been friends with Debbie since high school and just loves Fred so said of course she can leave early for "Derf's" birthday celebration! Debbie's friends all named Fred Derf while in high school and he loved it!

Cat, I think the one word to sum up my life is "happy." Lots of changes from time to time, problems, of course, but over all, happy. Molly, The bedroom I am working on has just become a "junk room" with things piled here and there. This fall my DBIL is coming for a visit, so I am trying to create a comfortable room for him. Yesterday, some boxes were moved to the garage, a little bit of furniture was moved to the front room to make it more accessible for DGD tomorrow when she is taking things to her apartment. Today, I hope to create a place for him to hang his things in the closet, and a drawer for him to unpack. I'm not buying anything new, but I do want to make the room look more like a guest room than a storage closet! My role is really to sort things and order DGDs around as they do the actual work! LOL Happy birthday, Lucy! Sandy, good to hear from you! Diane
