Have a friend who has lost about half what she wanted to lose, and has hit a plateau.
TIA

Plateaus are interesting in my mind. I believe there are true plateaus but think they are rare..
I sooner believe that your friend has started to feel more comfortable, is getting comments on how good she looks, feeling more confident and has loosened her grip on the plan she's on. Few extra bites here and there... a little more this or that... a bigger portion... add up to a " plateau" or more like maintenance.
I'd be tempted to ask what was it that was helping her when she was losing.
IMO

You could be right, Jae.
The only plateau I ever hit was like that, and I changed what I was doing and going on.
Thanks for the question.

Change things up. I recommend committing to two weeks of no process foods - nothing out of a box or bag unless it's frozen unseasoned vegetables and fruit, no frozen meals, etc.

- Pre-plan every bite at least one day in advance
- Meet each Good Health Guideline, which WW has abandoned, every day
- Stick to the plan
- Weigh, measure and TRACK every bite

IMO I bit the bullet, copied what you said, sent to her on a private FB message --- and she agreed that is exactly what happened. She had not asked for the help I sought, I just asked. Thanks to all of you for your tips. I will share all of them with her.

As she gets smaller, she has to eat less. If she is still eating the same way she did during the initial weight loss, she is effectively eating the extra points that we add back when we get to maintenance.

Tell your friend to pretend she's a WW accountant and auditor, and weigh, measure, and track every single things she consumes.
