WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Good morning. It was a crazy busy day yesterday, and I ended up blowing 8 points on a protein bar that wasnโt very good. Itโs all that was available at the time, and it got me through in a pinch.
Jane, little ones have a way of keeping us active, donโt they? Iโm happy you navigated the brunch menu on Sunday. I most likely would have caved and indulged.
Lori, how was dinner?
Kathy, even though youโre high in points, tracking has a way of keeping us from going overboard. Imagine how high your points would be if you just gave in and ate everything you wanted to? Iโve never tracked on vacation, so I give you a lot of credit.

Good Morning!!
Dinner went well. They had so much to chose from...salmon and mushrooms in a pastry wrap, Cowboy steak, pork belly, roasted chicken, pasta, stuffed peppers, and veggies. Half my plate was filled with veggies, had a little sampling of everything except the pork belly (that did not even appeal to me). I actually did not even go up to the dessert table. I was full and from what I saw on peoples plate was nothing special - so I went home and had 1/4 of the quest cake. I think that's the first time I didn't go to the dessert table...
Jan, hate when that happens but glad it got you through - like you said to Kathy, it could have been a lot worse... Kathy, Enjoy your vacation - so enough you'll be back to your routine... Nancy, thinking of you and hoping your having a wonderful visit!!

I had a binge last night. I am not sure why. I am having a great time with family, but something was going on emotionally that I "covered" by overeating. I am pretty disappointed in me.
Yesterday, I did walk more than 11,400 steps. Today, it will be a challenge to meet my exercise goal because I am leaving soon and only have 3500 steps thus far. Most from hanging out with a 25 month old, who is into trucks, little bikes, etc. I will try. Today, however, I am having an easy time with food. I had an excellent breakfast, have planned my lunch, and will be home for dinner.
Lori, that is an accomplishment! Jan, that was an okay choice for a pinch. It reminds me of eating the bacon at brunch, although it is not a fabulous analogy. It was the best that I could do. (Actually, you really did the BEST that you could do. I did not. I could have asked for a plain egg, but decided that I was not comfortable doing it in front of son-in-law.)
Hi to everybody else.
