WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Good morning! The heat continues today, though not quite as bad as itβs been. Some Cleveland city schools are actually closed due to the high temps.
My eating was fair yesterday. I did a little snacking, and had 2 muffins that someone gave me. I was on my feet and moving almost nonstop until 7:00, when I finally sat down for soccer.
Wishing everyone a great, peaceful Wednesday!

C37. D19. OP. Tracking. Exercise yesterday (none today - travel and meeting day)
Finished my vacation yesterday and ***stayed within 23 points*** I can get back on track :-) after 4 days of high points. Will be curious what the scale says when I get home.
Busy work days today and tomorrow and then I move my daughter into her college on Friday. Happy for her, sad for us....
Jan - thanks for starting us off!
Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning,
The heat really got to me yesterday. Had a nasty headache and was just so tired after work. I just wanted something light for dinner so I made an egg white omelette with laughing cow cheese for dessert I had a slice of toast with pb2 and banana. I have to say I really enjoyed it! I noticed my rings were really tight yesterday and still are...I got on the scale this morning and I'm up 4 lbs...I'm sure it has to do with the heat and the Blair dinner. I'm just going to continue on and check the scale at the end of the week. It just amazes me how the scale can fluctuate so much.....it truly is just a number..
Jan, the cool weather will be here before we know it...but I did hear today that it's suppose to be a hot September. DH and I are planning a few days down the shore in September so hoping for a couple of nice beach days. DH does not like dealing with traffic and crowds so we avoid the shore during the summer months...looking forward to it! I envy your activity level, I could use some of your energy....
Kathy, Awesome!! Getting right back on track is key!! I remember the college first year send off - happy and sad memories...Wishing your daughter an awesome college experience and wishing you a good adjustment period!
Have a great day everyone!! Lori

Had an easy day of getting back on track yesterday after my Sunday night binge. I did not fulfill my exercise goal yesterday in view of travel and schedule and, in tiny part, the heat. By the time I got home, I was tired. I might have taken a 3500 step walk to meet exercise goal if it had been cooler. But, I just did not care enough.
Today, I was on the treadmill for an hour, in an air-conditioned bedroom of my apartment. That worked out quite well.
Jan - Cleveland schools start early compared to NYC schools. If our schools, which start on September 5, had started this week, I would bet that they would not, in fact, be open. With what were you so busy yesterday? Was some of it outdoor exercise?
Kathy, welcome back! You are already back on track! I remember the excitement of taking my daughter to college for the first year. I felt the same way as you did. Proud and happy for all, including me.
Lori, I think that the heat also makes one retain water, so I am not shocked by the scale fluctuation for that reason too! I bet the Jersey Shore is terrific in early September. Do you like to visit any particular community?
Hi to Nancy, who is likely to be close to home if not home already. Hope to see others as well, soon.

Wow, what a sauna outside. I walked outdoors after being inside for 3 hours and it was stifling. I do want to get outside this afternoon, so I think Iβll read in the shade. Itβs windy, so I should be ok.
Lori, Iβm sure your weight fluctuation is the heat and humidity. Your dinner sounds good.
Kathy, Friday will be bittersweet for you. Way to get back on track after vacation.
Jane, we start much too early. Many schools started on August 14. We only went back on Monday. So many people would prefer to wait until after Labor Day. I worked, ran errands, did laundry, put stuff away.....nothing exciting, but thankfully inside in the A/C.
Nancy, I hope your trip was excellent!
