Check-in for the weekend. Do you have any special plans for this Labor Day weekend?
Is there something that is a tradition for Labor Day weekend that you usually do?
For DH and me it was usually a camping and boating weekend with friends, either here at our lake or at Fort Peck Lake in Montana. Now that DH is gone, my Labor Day weekend varies. Often I am just home. Sometimes I go see a friend in Billings, MT or she comes here. This weekend I don't really have anything planned, other than take care of some garden vegetables that I've picked. I also need to pick green beans again, which I'll do tomorrow. My son won't even be here as he has something else going on. If the weather is nice and there is not much wind, I think I'll grill a steak and have corn on the cob, new potatoes, perhaps some of those green beans I'll be picking, and tomatoes from my garden.
What's on your menu for the weekend?

No special plans for this weekend as far as any celebrations or anything out of the ordinary. We've never had any special Labor Day weekend traditions.
I'm planning to cook some things for the freezer, that's the biggest task on the list.
Cherry, all the veggies sound so good - sweet corn, green beans, potatoes, tomatoes...Yum!

When I was working, I was just relieved to have a day off. For the most part, I worked 6 days a week, so any day off was a welcome. Now, I really don't do anything much. Glad for everyone that gets to enjoy the day off with family & friends.

Plans for the weekend include lunch with Mom and a movie today and then a barbecue tomorrow with family. Monday will be a quiet day.
I realized yesterday that Thursday will start a new round. I’ll start a new signup sheet Monday and will plan to cover week one to get us started. Have a great weekend everyone.

I haven't celebrated an American holiday in so long I don't remember what we used to do...nothing now that I can think of.
As for the menu...we have a lot of leftovers in the frig so will be eating them a few at a time, probably.

Once upon a time when I was single, I was dating this one man for about 8 months (and after we stopped seeing each other for perhaps another 6 or 8 months, we became REALLY good friends). He had a lot of traditions for all the holidays. So I went to wherever he was going both while we were dating and also later when we were just friends. I remember lots of barbecues from those years.
Now? No, no traditions.
DH and I drove 60 miles (north and inland) to meet with my cousin and his wife (who live another 60 miles north from the Denny's where we met), along with another cousin visiting from the San Francisco Bay, area for an early dinner. I checked the WW app to determine what on the menu (that I was at least partially interested in) was SF and what wasn't too high in points. I ordered a 2 point grilled chicken breast (must have been some oil on the grill) and broccoli (the app said 0) and zucchini (don't remember, but it was grilled with some oil too; I had already consumed my 2 teaspoons of oil for lunch). I ordered Caesar salad dressing on the side (I don't care for croutons, so I never eat any) and wound up eating well under 1 teaspoon of the dressing. So I think I got away with an fairly low-point dinner. (No, it wasn't enough to eat; when we got home, I put corn on the cob into the microwave and then I was satisfied.)
Tomorrow, DH and I will go visit DH's DU (also about 60 miles north, but on the coast) for a movie and lunch out. (DH goes to see this last DU almost every weekend; they usually see a movie and eat at least one meal out.) And Monday I'm tutoring at least 2 of my students (they live one or two exits from each other on the same freeway), and possibly a couple more who live in my neighborhood.
And those are my three-day weekend plans.

Our plans for tomorrow are going to see the new movie out about the Nazi capture ( can't remember the name of it ), then off to Logans for a light dinner. We will be with SIL & BIL, rest of the family are all out doing their own thing.

Pushing the reset button today as I have meals planned and will focus on mindful eating and staying on the straight and narrow at the barbecue. Have a great day everyone.
