This is a conservative thread to allow those with conservative views to express themselves. We welcome Republicans, Tea Party folks, and those who believe in the Constitution as written, not as interpreted by liberal judges. If you have liberal views we invite you to participate in a civil and respectful conversation. We would respectfully request that if you cannot post in a respectful and civil manner to refrain from doing so until you can. Good discussions are great - insulting arguments are not. We welcome discussions about our weight loss journey.

Been watching the Kavanaugh hearings off and on. Most disgusting display by the Democrats I have ever seen. I really don't see how they can possibly win another election. And the grandstanding display by Cory Booker was beyond anything I have ever seen. The documents in question were already released and he knew it but he had to make a total show of pretending to defy the Senate rules calling it his "Sparticus" moment, and it turns out the documents didn't "prove" what he though they would prove anyway. He should be expelled anyway although I am sure he did this to get attention for a presidential run in 2020. Trump will mop the floor with any of them.

Hi Gary, I do agree with you. I watch little pieces of the hearings and the news. Just enough to let me know what is going on. I watched my senator Diane Feinstein a few days ago she is almost 90 and she may run for another term which would take her into her 90s. She looked so washed out and old and shaky. Nancy Pelosi was having senior moments when on camera the other day and couldn't remember peoples names. I don't understand why she and some of these people don't hang it up and go home and enjoy their old age. I don't mean to be critical of these ladies as I have my share of senior moments as I am in the age range to do that myself. But I wouldn't put myself in an important job to hang on to my power. In their shoes I would get a good book and a comfortable place to relax and have a good read and let someone else run the country.
I think that Judge Kavanaugh would make a wonderful Supreme Court Judge.

I agree Meg. I mean I am far from a spring chicken. But, I went ahead and retired rather than turn into "that" old woman.
Having said that, I suspect they help republicans more than hurt them, so for that I am grateful.

I suspect that is the very reason Walmart decided to let me go, but I wish it had been on my terms with a retirement party, etc. As it is I consider it a blessing in disguise. I can take any classes I want for free at the community college, but I have only enrolled in the wellness program to get exercise and a religion class once per week. I love that class because we discuss deeper principles of the gospel without all the criticism and fighting I get on facebook when I share things I know which aren't obvious to other Christians. I am also getting the neuropathy treatments, but had to take out a loan to pay for them since no medical insurance will pay for them I found out. I am free to do pretty much anything I want, but my foot pain keeps me from doing much at home other than the necessities.
In the meantime, the liberals are getting more and more unhinged every day. They are definitely running scared despite all the bloviating they do. I am hoping the polls are wrong about one of our senate candidates, Martha McSally. She is running behind her democrat challenger. I wish Kelly Ward had won our primary instead, but I definitely will never vote for a democrat even if the Republican is flawed.

Well they did it, they found a woman to make a claim.
Beats all I ever saw. Hopefully, they won't get away with it.

Yep, they had to beat the bushes to come up with this one. A woman with fuzzy memory of the "incident" with a lawyer with Soros ties. The whole thing stinks and yet the gullible Republicans are buying it. Wonder how much the Democrats paid this woman to come up with this boloney? And now she doesn't want to testify without a drawn out FBI investigation (when it's not even a federal case). The whole point is to delay Kavanaugh's confirmation until after the midterm elections when the Democrats hope to be in a better position to obstruct and delay everything President Trump wants to do. Pretty disgusting. That is why it is absolutely vital that we maintain our Republican majority.

I am cautiously optimistic that the Rep are just giving her the rope. Partly because there is not upside for them if they fall for this, and partly because I just really really do not want to believe they are that spineless. Not all of them of course, but it only take a small handful.

The Democrats are really unhinged. They will try anything to try to regain their power. This Ford woman who has accused Judge Kavanaugh of assaulting her. She says she doesn't remember how or where it happened. Is it possible at the age of 15 she had too much to drink? after all we are told there was alcohol at the party. Perhaps she doesn't remember who assaulted her if anyone did. Was there adult supervision at the party? Did her parents know that she was at a party where alcohol was being served?

Watching the Kavanaugh farce of a "hearing" today off and on, as much as I can stand of their treating Ford like she's something fragile. The Republicans better step up and ask some aggressive questions or we will lose Kavanaugh, and if we lose him they will pull the same stunt with any nominee Trump puts forward.

I hope people will see how the Democrats go to any length every election or hearing. They think nothing of destroying the lives of good people by charging them as being racist or being a sexual predator or whatever they can think of that will destroy some ones life just as long as they have the power. If they keep doing this good people will not want to run for office.
Diane Feinstein needs to retire she is almost 90 and watching her on TV today she is really showing her age. She is also my Senator, The Harris woman is the other one and she is new to the Senate and she will probably will be there for a long time. Diane Feinstein has really made a mess of this hearing for everyone., both Kavanaugh and Ford.
I pray for a good out come for everyone.

This just came to my attention
Senator Feinstein’s husband Richard Blum has served the university of Palo Alto as a member of the University of California Board of Regents since 2002. Kinda ironic that Christine Blasey Ford is a psychology professor at Palo Alto.
How convenient.
