7. Go savory and mix salt-free garlic and herb seasoning (and fresh herbs, if desired) with low-fat cottage cheese and spread it into a pita filled with roasted vegetables.
8. Top your favorite burger with a dollop of ketchup combined with plain, fat-free yogurt or nonfat sour cream.
If you weren't trying to lose weight or avoiding sugar/fat, etc. what would be a dip or spread that you'd find especially good?
For me, I'd go for some of the fruit dips such as Caramel Fruit dip which consists of cream cheese, brown sugar, and caramel ice cream topping for dipping fruit into. Or there's one called Apple Brickle dip which consists of cream cheese, brown and white sugar, vanilla, and almond brickle chips or English toffee bits to serve with sliced apples.

I remember a dip made with spinach (was it frozen spinach thawed out before adding to the rest of the ingredients?) in some sort of creamy base with spices, possibly onion soup mix (does anyone know what I'm talking about?). Was it called something about artichoke? It's possible the creamy base came from yogurt or sour cream... It was sometimes served inside a hollowed out round loaf of French bread... Anyone?

Holly, That sounds like spinach/artichoke dip. Still popular. Also along the same lines is artichoke/parm cheese dip.
I have a recipe for shredded cheese, sour cream, maybe some mayo (doing this from memory and haven't made it for a long time) and the ranch dressing packet. Yummy.
I like ketchup with mayo or sour cream. Like fry sauce.

Cherry - I hadn't thought of that cream cheese/brown sugar fruit dip for years! It's delicious.
If calorie/sugar/fat was not a concern, just the plain purchased caramel apple dip would be good. Can't think of any others at this moment, but I'm sure there are more. There are some in the back of my mind that are served warm...taco dip and so on. A local restaurant makes a delicious shawarma sauce which is sold at their restaurant and in stores - good over plain chicken. (and even better with their chicken schwarma sandwiches).

I have loved all the new ideas for using spices, etc.
I will definitely try the ketchup & yogurt topping for my burger.
As I've said many times, I am not much of a snacker, just an eater. If fat/calories/sugar were not an issue, I'm sure I would pick something with cheese, yes lots of cheese.

Sorry, I forgot to add that when I make the Knorr Spinach Dip I use Fat Free Miracle Whip instead of mayo.
