Thanks for the start this morning, Phyl,
TOOT, TOOOOT! CHUG, CHUG, CHUG! Here comes the Train to Thinsville down the track and into your station so hop on board and enjoy the ride.
This morning it was 72º and a stray thunderstorm is possible this morning and going up to 91º partly cloudy and windy with wind SW 20 to 30 mph. I’ll enjoy it today because tomorrow it will only go up to 55º tomorrow.
The Home Health nurse came to check on me yesterday. A speech therapist came yesterday too and gave me some new exercises to do.
The doctor decided to put Rachael on a heart monitor for a day to see if any problems come up. She sometimes has chest pain and we aren’t sure if it is her heart or something else, so I hope this will give us some answers. MJ took her to the doctor’s office to have it put on and then took her to school yesterday. She can take it off this morning and MJ will take it back to the doctor’s office.
The landlord came by to pick up the rent check for this month and MJ mentioned that we have a lot of light bulbs burned out and we can’t reach them. He came back later with a ladder and replaced the burned-out bulbs. He didn’t have an explanation for why they were going out one after another. The fixtures in almost all the rooms have four bulbs in them.

Good morning!
This morning we went to DH's doctor for his post-op check -- very early! He is doing great! No pt -- just do the exercises he already knows. Amazing how fast he has recovered. I still have some fever with the virus, I guess. So I will stay home from dominoes. Bummer....
Doris, light bulbs anymore don't last very long at all. Ours go out one after the other, too. And an electrician said it is the new light bulbs we have now. They "just do that." It's like the ice maker. The new ones quit working very quickly -- and, in our case, short out the whole fridge. What to do? He said to buy ice and store in the freezer. Or trays. Sigh... And the computer -- oh, dear! I like to bring my coffee in with me, but I will stop! Of course, I don't have a dog, but I am a klutz!
Doris, hope Rachael is okay. Hugs for her. Phyl, hope you don't get hail! That stuff is bad.
Hugs all around and prayers for all! Diane

Diane,
I'm glad to hear your DH got a good report from the doctor and won't have to go to PT. I hope you can get rid of that nasty virus that doesn't want to quit.
I have to say it is disappointing that nothing is made to last anymore. We used to change a light bulb and not have to do it again for a long time. Our landlord is very nice to come and change them for us though.

I find the same thing with bulbs, but if you put them all in at one time they just seem to all burn out at same time. the bulbs don't last long either and they say you are supposed to recycle them? Really
I have batteries in some lights for holidays and the batteries don't last long either.
I do use my ice maker and have had to get two in 15 years so don't think that is too bad. but have never have had fridge short out!! Wow. I am not going back to ice cube trays, really a bag of ice in the bin? No not doing that either. I have saved a bag of ice cubs for the cooler though. Hate paying for ice, just like hate paying for air in tires as well.
Doris, sorry Rachael is having some chest pains. Stress and nerves maybe but glad Dr is on top of things with monitor.

Connie,
Rachael isn't having chest pain. The doctor detects an irregular heart beat and is trying to figure out what is causing it. We don't have any answers yet, but she has been diagnosed with POTS (I can't remember what that stands for), a condition that is caused by not hitting milestones when growing up. For example, Rachael never crawled when she was a baby - at 7 months old - she saw Hannah run across the room and stood up and ran. Even doctors aren't taught about this condition in medical school.

I do hope they find out about Rachael's heart. Dave also has skipped heart beats and it's apparently normal for him. Light bulbs all seem to go out at the same time. We have all those long lasting bulbs and some still don't need replacing that were here when we moved her in 2011. One of our son's foster kids never learned to walk and he was almost two, so they had to teach him how to crawl first and now he's running all over and onery.
Another bit from our trip. On Saturday night we had an interesting talk about the history of mankind from the beginning of time. It was so interesting. Afterwards we took our folding chairs to put them away and left. When I was ready for bed later I was looking for my purse and no purse! I'd left it at the hall. All night I fretted and in the morning we met again and someone had picked it up and had it safe and sound. Whew!!
Another story: This is about Yancy. When we were about 45' minutes from home our DGD called that Yancy was acting very sick. He'd not wanted to go out to releive himself, not eaten, soiled the floor and there was a bit of blood in his stool. Very lethargic. They had to pick him up to go outside! So we went right away there instead of stopping at home first. When we walked in the door Yancy RAN to us, he doesn't run in the house ever! And he barked, he never barks! And he jumped on my leg and whined, he NEVER has jumped on anybody! So we took him home and he ate and ate and went out and releived himself normally. I guess he really missed his daddy. AND our DGD has a new puppy who will not leave him alone and also jumps all over Lucy too. I'm sure he was trying to be very still so that puppy wouldn't bother him and got stopped up. He's all fine now. Dave took him into the vet yesterday for a routine shot and the vet said he's not overweight and healthy. Just needs to have a rotten tooth removed someday. I was ready to put him down as he's old. LOL

I Have had a heart murmer that they found when I got pregnant the first time. Guess it was there since childhood. Drs all say nothing to worry about and my DGD has the same thing. So hope that it is something easy like that. our's comes and goes and sometimes they hear it and sometimes they don't. Young woman are known for irregular heart beats, caused by stress. My DSIL deals with her's like you do stress. Take time by yourself, breath deeply in and out for several minutes. concentrate on the breathing. So many many things this can be.
knew she was dealing with POTS and she has been through a lot, first throwing up etc and now this.
I am off to DDs and not staying, but have some things to deliver. DGD and her DH on way back to WVa so I just missed them.

Helen,
I'm glad to hear Yancy was OK when you got back and he obviously was really missing you and Dave. I'm sure he was very happy to be back home and not have the puppy wanting to play with him. Its too bad he has a rotten tooth that needs to come out though. It sounds like you had a good trip and learned some interesting things. I know it must have been a relief that someone found your purse and turned it in.
