Bobbie never made it here today because she and Mac are still cleaning out mom’s apartment. She lived at an expensive senior housing place in La Jolla....$3,500 monthly rate plus she put down $350,000. Bobbie says it sounds more like a scam. Mac will get back only about half of that. Jim can stay dirty until Wednesday. I was going to bathe him today but he didn’t feel like it. Phooey! We will head back to the ranch house tomorrow. I will take a look at WW on the desktop tomorrow. Glad Maija has her own car now. Let’s get into our circle of wagons and sing by the fire. “WE CAN DO THIS YES WE CAN... WE CAN LOSE NEW POUNDS... MY THIN FRIENDS!”

Good morning friends. I didn't post on yesterday's Monday thread, but here I am today. Kathie, it sounds like Mac's mom's set up is like ours, somewhat. How long was she there? I hope that it was longer that 2 years. Her rates are about what we pay for 2 people, and the option we came in under will allow 50% of what we paid down to go to our estate when we are gone. There were options to put down more money and get it all back, or put down nothing and get nothing back. If we had died or left in the first two years, they would have prorated the return on what we deposited, so it would have been more than 50%. It is hard to believe that we have passed our 5 year anniversary. Seems like yesterday we were downsizing and getting ready for the move. Hope Bobbie will be able to help you more now that she isn't taking care of his mom.
Sandy, I am glad Maija realized the Highlander was a lot to handle. She will love having her own car. Nancy, I hope we will get to the place where my DBs will get together for a meal, or go out for a meal. We do it somewhat, but not as regularly as you do. Db & DSIL return here tomorrow and will be here until the 18th when they return to France. I have to change beds, and do some cleaning today. I did laundry yesterday, and not much else but a 30 minute walk. I took a nap! I am looking at my FitBit stats and accepting that 6 hours is about my norm for sleep. I went to bed before 9 last night, but woke up at 4 and couldn't go back to sleep. I am grateful for 6 hours. Now, I will get my coffee and try to stuff all of this stuff back into that drawer before another day goes by. So lazy I am!! My weight is back up this morning. I had pork stew last night which was very salty. Water, water, water will be the word for today. We can do it, right??

Hi everyone thanks for the start Kathie. That is something you always have to check into when you enter a senior home. I know many years ago when my friend married a guy in a senior place she had to pay $17,000 just to move in with him. My other friend had to sell her home and give them the money to move in. There's nothing like that here and when you are unable to care for yourself Synergy will come in to help you for $30 an hour so I can stay here till I can no longer navigate. Sorry that Jim will not let you bathe him. They taught me how to shower my DH in the hospital and I bathed him daily.
Harriet my friend's husband's sister put down the larger amount and they got the most back and also her huge lake home. I never thought of a place like that. All my people died before they were unable to care for themselves or a loved one did it. I hope I go quickly and am not in a nursing home. I am up today too. I got 16005 steps yesterday but did enjoy eating.
Sandy Maija is like me. We had a Villager and I couldn't wait to get a smaller car. However I did drive our minimotor home all the way to FL when My DH couldn't drive. I enjoyed the trip but not driving through big cities. We were lucky to get up to 81 yesterday and today it will get up to 79.
Today I'll walk, get my flu shot(I had a hard time finding my medicare and insurance forms. I took them with me on my trip and it took me a while to remember I put them in my checkbook for safe keeping.)Dancing and then nothing. Let's all have a joyful day! Hugs and blessings to us all! See you in the morning

Fred is golfing this morning and we might go to Costco when he gets home and then at 4:30 will be meeting Debbie at another duplex she wants to see as it looks like the owners of the other one might be pretty firm on their price and this one has everything she wants and is in a neighborhood she has kept looking at. So we'll see.
