Good Morning Marm and LTMs,
Today it was 50º and going up to 53º and cloudy with 1” of rain expected and wind N 10 to 15 mph. Localized flooding is possible. We are in a flood watch until 7:00 AM Wednesday.
The only person scheduled to come today is the occupational therapist and she will be here in the morning. It looks like this will be my last week of having the therapists coming since they are all satisfied with my progress.
Yesterday the speech therapist came, and the rest of the day was quiet. I spent some time in my comfortable chair napping and reading another mystery on my Kindle.
MAXINE CALENDAR: Tue 10/9: It’s National Fire Prevention Day! I’m doing my part by not cook

It's raining AGAIN here. A repeat tomorrow and then the next several days finally look dry. In the 70's and humid again today like yesterday. Cold by the end of the week with lows in the low 30's and highs only 40-50º It'll be cold walking outdoors again. In the meantime I've been doing my indoor loop. Washed the sheets this morning and they're back on the bed. I get a haircut before work so at least I don't have to worry about doing my hair before work.
Ruth, I thicken my chicken noodle soup with 98% ff cream of chicken soup. Thickens and adds flavor both.

Another wet, gloomy day here too. I cancelled my trip 200 miles north for my high school class lunch. I hated to miss the small group, but I didn’t want to drive 4 hours in predicted rain. I don’t mind driving around here, but not when I go so far. I know it makes me a sissy for some, but that’s okay. I was asked to help set up and make coffee for the potluck here tonight since the lead gal is sick. I can do that!
Gareth, your soup sounds good, but then it’s more like canned soup. I, unlike you and Ruth, love the brothy chicken and vegetable soup, to which I sometimes add wild rice. Lately I just put in many vegetables and the chicken to make a thick soup. That’s what is nice about making soup, we can customize it to our own liking. That reminds me that I should make some again soon. My freezer is bare of it right now.

We had hard rain about the time I got up. By the time I had had a cup coffee & took my shower it stopped & the sun came out. Now its muggy & there are mosquitoes again. Cool weather is great for getting rid of them. We've had a few Asian beetles too.
DS is here & he & DH are washing the trailer. Don't think DH is doing anything but giving support. Once the roof was done though, he rinses after being washed. Might not seem like much but it does help. DS is getting tired. He could take 2 days to do it but once he starts he wants to finish it. It is a big pain you know where.
I re-planted the rest of the hostas this morning. Gave them a new home cause more dirt has to be filled in where they originally were. Next spring I'll put them back there. Also pulled out some of the flowers that were looking bad. When the guys get done with the water hose I'll spray the decorative picket fence & take that down.
I packed some things for DS to take back to the house. We may only have clothes & last minute BR items to take when we go. Oh yes, food from the refrigerator but I'm working on using as much up as I can. Last time we went home I took fridge things that are seldom used, so it's looking pretty bare. I am sending a few of my clothes with DS.
The chicken, noodles, & veggie casserole was very good yesterday. Sometimes it's better then others. I don't have a recipe - just a little of this & a little of that, so it's always a surprise. When Rick came with the honey wagon he asked, chicken soup for lunch? No a casserole. We were done eating or I may have offered him some. I buy the chicken with herbs soup for it. I add more seasonings but the soup gives it a good flavoring too. We like it better then the plain chicken soup, but as Mary said, there are many varieties to accommodate a wide range of preferences.
Ruth, I don't remember the exact date we went to the house last year but we were home before trick or treating. Probably about the same time as we plan to go this year. There's a chance that when we go home on the 25th for DH's pre-op appointment that we might stay, but I'm thinking more like the weekend after the 25th. I think with all my plants it will take two trips to move everything home, so if we would stay on the 25th we'd have to make a trip before then.. One day next week there's a chance for snow here:) It won't last. Some chilly nights are headed our way too. I will enjoy the cool days for walking.

I always seem to be getting to my treatment when a good show is on. Have to start timing this different. Day was odd, Rain some and not. but plenty warm enough. everywhere I went I would take my jacket in case of rain. but never needed it. but tonight we did get even more rain, RAIN~~ Leader will be back next week. will be great having her again. New program is here to. Nothing different just a change in app. Not sure they are thinking of some and not talking about me, I don't care to take any kind of time w/those things. But some already problem w/the price of coming, Not sure if they have the phones to.
Doris, Nice your finished w/PT. Another thing behind you. will speech keep on?
Gareth*, Well this time of yr. you will doing yur inside track. Nice you have one.
Mary, Don't blame you for not wanting to travel in the rain. Yeah that's whats good about doing our own cooking we use change and do our own way and still using others recipe.
Marlene, Whats nice about plants can always give new homes and change whenever. How good is that DS coming and washing your trailer. Nice for an extra load of things back home to. Casserole sounds good.
Sleep well Friends.... Marm~~~

Marm,
The last day with a therapist will be Thursday and I'll also meet with a social worker that day. It will be nice to have this finished. The occupational therapist says she wants me to keep on doing the exercises she gave me to get stronger.

Well I've been working on my crochetting today and not much else. I did a lot yesterday though
Mary, I do put in a lot of veggies in my chicken soup but like the broth part to be thicker. I guess I could add a tiny bit of corn starch or even puree up some beans or cooked potatoes to thicken it. Can't put in the canned soup because it has gluten. Once in awhile I sneak a little gluten in but I then pay the price.
Marlene, I know it's a big job moving things from one place to another a couple times a year. Luckily you're close enought to go back if you have to. I usually left any left over food, things that I bought but didn't use not things I'd cooked, to my friend who was very poor. I made it sound as though she was doing me a huge favor taking it so that she wouldn't feel bad. I also left kitchen things and clothing at the church for people to take but that was when I was leaving for the last time. Gave away furniture too and left the rest for the buyer.Dh left a bunch of tools. We didn't have much room to bring things back and haven't missed anything that we left. Oh and Mary I wouldn't have driven that far in the rain either. I can't see very well in the rain. It doesn't rain often here thankfully. One day when we were out shopping it did start to rain while I was driving home and I really should have pulled over. Luckily we got home safely because I really couldn't see. It was like driving in a blizzard back in NY.Back there I had no problem driving in rain but I'm just not used to it anymore and my eyes aren't like they used to be either.
Today would have been my mother's 100th birthday so I've been thinking of her

Hello all LTMs,
Mot sure who will se this, but we have had a great first 2 days in Charleston. Glad we paid no attention to the weather reports & went ahead into the Historic District Monday for a carriage tour & a walking tour, and yesterday to Fort Sumter by boat. Today & tomorrow will be a complete washout from the looks of things. DBIL & DSIL are trying to decide if they should leave today, since they need to travel I 95 home through the Carolinas & Virginia. For DH & I, it's better to wait out the hurricane, so that we can go south w/o problems. We have options for getting across the state of Florida, even if the I 10 is flooded.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Rose Marie
