TOOT, TOOOOT! CHUG, CHUG, CHUG! Here comes the Train to Thinsville down the track and into your station so hop on board and enjoy the ride.
Today it was 50º and going up to 53º and cloudy with 1” of rain expected and wind N 10 to 15 mph. Localized flooding is possible. We are in a flood watch until 7:00 AM Wednesday.
The only person scheduled to come today is the occupational therapist and she will be here in the morning. It looks like this will be my last week of having the therapists coming since they are all satisfied with my progress.
Yesterday the speech therapist came, and the rest of the day was quiet. I spent some time in my comfortable chair napping and reading another mystery on my Kindle.

Good morning!
I got my new Kindle! It is bigger than my old one, so I have ordered a new case for it. I have my book I am reading downloaded and enjoyed a quiet time of reading first thing this morning with my first cup of coffee. Ah, yes, I am happy today. It is to be a bit cooler today -- high of 78º or so. I will be at home, and I think my main project for the day will be starting a new puzzle! Of course, I did cook breakfast, and I will fix lunch and dinner! I discovered that if I take my walker out first thing in the morning, I can unload the dishwasher with fewer steps. I know lots of you gals try to get more steps in! I have to be careful -- I seem able to do just so many steps at a time, before my legs say I have to sit down. I've been to the CMT support site, and that seems to be usual, so I don't worry about it. I think it is a matter of moderation for me. It's been hard to accept, since I remember when I walked four miles a day in addition to normal activities. Getting older is the very dickens!
One of our grandsons always wanted to be home schooled. Strange when you think that our autistic DGS, who might need that, never wanted to, even though he has been bullied and treated badly. BTW, DD said she thinks the 4th grade is just the hardest year. So the teachers work the kids harder. Who knows?
Have a happy day!

Diane,
I'm sitting here with my first cup of coffee of the day too. I usually eat breakfast first (mini-wheats today) and then enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee.
I'm glad you like your new kindle. I had to replace mine a few years ago and this one seems to be doing well. I love reading on it, but I forget to write down the name of the book I'm reading and never seem to remember that I need to do that.
I can't be on my feet too long either and it can be frustrating, I know. I have a walker I can use if necessary too.

Good morning Doris & ATF,
Cloudy again, high humidity everything is wet looking but no rain. They are saying the sun will peak out this afternoon. I sure hope so! Currently 69; the high will be 78.
Went for a manicure this morning and made my appointment for a mani/pedi for Aruba in 3 weeks. Have a 2pm allergist appointment for my monthly shots and then off to the bowling alley to see my boys bowl.
We are expected to get some heavy rain on Thursday into Friday from the hurricane that is coming up the gulf coast. Then getting cooler up here.
Have a great day!

Wish all you ladies that read would post on the reading thread. it is just one day a week and we are hungry for books, and lot read on Kindle etc. You might get some ideas along the way too. Doris we miss your mystery series you are reading. I know you have had a lot going on but reading is like breathing, we have to do it.
I am off to see Emma today later on. DD#2 is coming in here and I am going to drive it with her instructions. Sure hope this works for me. I am nervous. But have to be able to drive to see this baby.
Diane that is the one thing I really miss is the walking miles and not worrying about the route or the weather or the time. did it for years in all kinds of temp and weather and hills, parks etc. whatever the urge said. Even if I get this knee replaced know I won't be able to do that anymore. plus am more nervous about it these days. I do keep moving but just one of the perks of being young and middle aged that I miss. Sr sometimes is the pits.
Hoping the street work is finished soon in front of my nail place. Could do the place right in town, it is new but honestly I am just going to wait. Sure it will be done soon. Need nails trimmed and a different shade this time. Tired of the deep red. Thinking bronze or some shade of beige.

Emily,
It sounds like you are having a pretty nice day with the possibility of seeing the sun this afternoon. 78 sounds really warm and comfortable. It sounds like that hurricane is causing bad weather for a lot of us.
Its hard to believe your trip to Aruba is coming up soon. It doesn't seem very long since the last one.

Connie,
Enjoy your time getting acquainted with Emma, I love her name.
It will be nice when they get all the street work done so you can get your nails done again. I know what you mean about wanting to go to a familiar place.
My problem with talking about the books I'm reading is that they are on my kindle and I keep forgetting to write down the names of the books. I guess I can try to remember to write down the names of the stories as I get to them. Once I've started its hard to go back on the kindle to get the names.

I know what you mean, Doris when I read in my Kindle I can't just shut the book and look at the title and author and forget to when I open it first. Mow I'm reading a mystery which is good enough it keeps me awake at night! I need a boring book LOL.
We are watching the new rain gauge and so far there is now over one inch collectively from today and yesterday and still raining but not flooding amounts yet. I do have farmer acquaintances who farm along creek beds and they will soon have flooded fields and now already can't finish their harvest.they grumble but know that's part of life.
Diane, our 7th grade grandson is bullied in school. He is tall skinny and curly blond. But the reason they bully him is because his mom moved to a small farming town after his classmates had established their clicks and he's not interested in sports but is a big history buff and likes artsy stuff. Kids that age are so mean. So he didn't want to go to school Monday because he had a new zit. Makes this grandma just want to go and protect him.
Protective Grandma, Helen

Helen,
With all the rain we've had I'm not surprised that there is over an inch so far today. It just doesn't want to quit it seems.
Kids can be so mean when someone new moves in. Its too bad they can't just let the new person join in the fun right away. I know what you mean about wanting to protect our DGKs from the mean kids.
