WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

18 non-Core points and 23 APs earned yesterday.
Lori, how did you make out with the birthday celebration?
Nancy, I like how youโre adding a Leslie Sansone video to get to 10k steps. Beautiful picture of your Columbus family, BTW!

I lost my post. Yesterday, I left at 6 a.m. to visit an incarcerated client upstate in a last ditch effort to convince him to act in his own self interest. I failed. He likes me, says on a regular basis that he thinks that I am a top notch lawyer, and then does not follow my advice. (Client is smart enough to actually "get" the irony of the situation and of our "impasse.") Dealing with him is not unpleasant, but it is exhausting. I lost a few days to illness, and I lost yesterday to business. So, in view of all of this, I am going to be rushing like mad to get ready for my trip. I cannot wait to be in Japan! My next big trip, after Japan, is not until November 2019, when I do on a walking/culture tour of Chilean Patagonia. So, I am starting to look for a travel opportunity to some location that is new and different and falls some time in the early summer of 2019. (I have a huge case due on June 28, 2019, so early July would be perfect.) There are so many travel options.
So, we think it is a man's world? Ha. Is that not the truth. (I have not always thought that way. I have often thought that I was lucky to be a woman because I had more options concerning what to do with my life than men generally did.) Jan, are you feeling a bit more settled? I hope so. It has been a rough time. Kathy, I hope that you are well and that your two day absence from this thread is a sign of busy-ness. Nancy, I agree with Jan that your family photo is lovely. I must say one more time that I live by your words that it is not a single food indiscretion that hurts us. Rather, what counts is what comes afterwards. Lori, how did it go? When do you leave?

Hi BFFs,
Birthday celebration at work went well yesterday. I decided to take a very small piece of crumb cake home and enjoyed it last night. Next challenge is tomorrow night. Dinner with DSILs, usually not a problem, but since it's another Birthday celebration dessert will probably be involved. My goal is to stay in Control.... We leave extremely early Saturday morning (leaving house around 4 am) and since there is a 3 hour time difference we will arrive in Sedona around 8:30 am.
Nancy, Beautiful Family photo on FB. The boys are just too cute!! Jan, so glad Alex is able to play - hope he has an awesome game!! Jane, I'll look forward to seeing pics of Japan on FB....Enjoy your trip!!
Have a great day Ladies!! Lori
