WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C90D13, 16 points, 4 rollovers, 8 water, 1192 calories, 11,365 steps
Line dancing, twice around mall (solo), early evening walk with friend
Jan – So how did the game go?
Jane – When do you leave? And how long is the trip? Preparations are always stressful, but if you’re like me, once you get on the plane, it’s all good – no worries about work or family or anything else.
Lori – I was hoping you’d decide to bring a dessert home – sounds like you did great. Any concerns about food on vacation?

22 APs and 11 non-Core points, which included a glass of wine. I’m really liking doing Core again. I’m finding I’m not overeating AT ALL, and there’s no urge to eat just because I have points left.
The game went well, even though we lost. We have 4 starters out, 3 due to injury and 1 due to a red card, so we will likely lose again tonight. Both games this week are inconsequential, so it doesn’t matter. Playoffs don’t start until the 20th, so the boys have plenty of time to heal.
Jane, I enjoyed reading your description of your client. Some people just can’t get out of their own way. I hope your last minute trip prep goes smoothly.
Lori, ditto to you on the trip prep. Isn’t it nice having going west and gaining all that time?
Nancy, you’ve passed the halfway point of your second carefully planned week. I hope the scale cooperates on Saturday!

Hello Ladies!
Regarding vacation eating - I'm a little concerned for the travel days (long days and boredom). I know DH will want to have a sit down breakfast at the airport before boarding plane, it's a good way to kill time (which will be very early - flight leaves as 6 a.m - have to be there around 4 a.m.) - I'm hoping nothing is open and we can grab something to bring on the plane. I'll bring an apple and quest bar in my handbag . The rest of the day, I just plan on making good choices - our eating schedule will be really off that day with getting up in the middle of the night and time change. Any suggestions are welcome! The rest of the vacation, I'm not worried about - we eat out two meals a day (late breakfast, late dinner, healthy snacks in between) plus plenty of hiking!!!! We get home late Saturday night and I'll be back to normal routine on Sunday!!
Nancy, time change is great! plus I'll have Sunday to recoup from trip! Jan, Unbelievable - I think doctors need better/stricter standards when approving service animals. I totally for service animals when truly needed.....but they are showing up everywhere and I wonder if really needed! I pray our flights go smoothly.... Jane, how do you handle airport days??
Have a great day everyone! Lori
