Good morning, all LTMs,
This will be my last post until we get home tomorrow night. We plan to go into the Charleston area today & visit one of the plantations. Will head home early tomorrow morning. Say a prayer for those in VA, too, who are affected by this awful storm. My DDIL's niece is in Roanoke & is safe, but surrounded by flood waters. This has been a truly devastating storm over such a wide swath!

Good Morning Marm and LTMs,
This morning it was 42º and going up to 47º and cloudy today with showers in the afternoon and winds will be light and variable.
As far as I know there are no special plans for today.
The social worker and the speech therapist came yesterday, and I have been released from the care of Home Health. The people I worked with have all been very nice and helpful.
Hunter is doing better, but I don’t think he likes the canned dog food the vet gave me. Yesterday he ate it off a spoon if I fed him, but he didn’t just eat it out of his bowl. This morning he quickly ate everything in his bowl, so he must be feeling better. The vet says he needs to gain more weight since he is too thin, even though he gets the same amount as Bailey, who is much bigger.
MAXINE CALENDAR: Fri 10/12: Can’t decide whether to pay the furnace man or just cash out my savings and burn it in the fireplace.
PEANUTS CALENDAR: Fri 10/12: THE DAILY EXTRA: Green Clean – Freshen your garbage disposal by putting approximately five ice cubes down it along with a handful of lemon (or other citrus) rinds, then turn on the water and run the disposal.
Yesterday’s Riddle – What kind of coat can only be put on when wet? (answer: a coat of paint)

Mary, You would laugh at my menagerie, My pillows and wedge is stored beside our bed. Thats the wall side. If you step into the bedroom you can hardly notice but the tops of them. but I have that other foam Pillow talking about for my --neck. Its Firm. I have my knee one. for my ---back Its a short one about 2 ft. long tube like and then the Wedge. I use whatever pillow I need to start with, Might have to change in the middle of the night. Aaaand what I told hubby thee other night to make him more comfy when goes back to bed after BR brk .is to flip his pillow over the way I do. Well now he's sleeping better to.
Ruth, I like my pillow rather flat to. Of course my neck one is a bit higher. and firm. But it works when I need it. My smallest heater, is about 9"x 10" my other 2 is is bigger. Thats ones I take to bed. I heat one up for 5 min. other is only 3 since micro is already hot. Both very hot. But I kick around where I want. Often not touching me first part of night after I stick toes in to get warmed up. they cool down in the night so have them on feet then. But when I take with me. Just very hot to start with. A time of 2 in a bag I carry them w/me. But they are heavy.Ha,ha. wish I could say a better method to always have them heated.
Rose Marie, Just stay safe. Prayers for one in harms way of the storm and the floods.
S@@ Marlene what you started w/saying a few words on pillow? Ha,ha.
Gareth, I do have my little electric heater on this morning.
Enjoy this day~~~ Marm~~~

Feels good to finally take a break. I've had my walk. Indoors since when I got up it was 34º with 40% chance of snow showers which if we got any I missed it. Laundry is done and I ran the sweeper downstairs. Going to watch the noon news and rest a little before tackling anything else. Even though my day off is busy it's still nice to have the day off and nowhere I have to be. I just enjoy a day at home. I did finally turn the furnace on this morning when I got up since the indoor temp was 69º It's only run the one time.
Marm, I have one of those baking copper pans with a rack that I really like. I just wish I could find a bigger one like it in at least a 9X13 No flat pillow for me. I need a big, fluffy pillow that I flip over whenever I wakeup in the night.

Did some more yard work this morning. Most things are picked up or pulled out. I have one more flower bed to pull out & this weekends weather will end that so I won't feel as bad pulling it out. What's left after that is mainly packing everything away.
We walked again this morning. Really quite nice out but once again we were dressed for it.
Think we'll be going to town this afternoon. DH got a pair of flannel lined jeans the last time we went & although they fit him fine now, I'm not so sure after they are washed & dried that they will. He will exchange them for a size larger - the size he has worn for ages.
Marm, yes I did open an interesting conversation about pillows. I don't want a real soft one or a real firm one - something in between. The trouble I've had getting one is that if they aren't a better quality, that in between soon becomes too soft/flat. Good to hear that Eileen is coming back.
The worker that was across the road from us, left this morning. A couple new campers came in yesterday. Not many here anymore & most that are, are closing up for the winter. I hope there are some nice warm days yet before we leave. If not, we'll have to go to the campground where we use to volunteer to walk & satisfy my desire for the sounds & smells of fall. DH will go for that!
Rose Marie, safe travels. Looks like Michael did horrendous damage across FL. I cannot imagine what it would be like to be a victim of such a disastrous event. Glad I don't live in an area that is susceptible to such - of course we can have tornadoes that are very destructive too.
The sun is coming out. OK!

All is well here. I and DD met with my financial advisor this morning. Then DGD and I had lunch at Denny’s before we met with the knitting group. Now I’m home alone for the evening, but with Jazmin who is all over me as I try to type. I don’t have enough hands as far as she is concerned.
I’ve seen those new copper pans, and they look enticing, but am happy with what I have. I’ve had my copper bottom Revereware ones ever since we married and I’ve added a few other stainless ones since then. I just don’t do enough cooking to justify buying more.
Rose Marie, safe travels tomorrow. There certainly has been a lot of damage again to Florida and other states nearby. Do you ever wish you had stayed in Delaware? I guess every area has their problems related to weather, but I am happy where I am.
Doris, it’s good to hear that you are doing well again. I hope Hunter gets his good health back.
Gareth, I haven’t been to a WW meeting since the change, but Dd was telling me all the name changes for you workers, etc. I can’t remember what you are called now. Something to do with wellness I think.
Marm I can almost picture you with all your sleep aids like pillows, a wedge, and your little heaters huddled around you.

Doris, Hunter must be a breed of dog that needs more wgt.
Gareth*, I enjoyed the day at home to w/hubby working and didn't go anywhere this morning. I've seen the small baking pan. and wondered why not a bigger one to. I'm sure the baking one would last longer.
Marlene*, DH bought a good pillow at Yonkers he likes. Has tamed down but still more than what I would want.
Mary, those copper bottom pans is the best. You don't need anything else. Neighbor gave me one of those smalls one, (she had 2) I love it. always wished I had a set. what you picture w/all my Pillows is alright. Tsk,tsk.
Well I organized the tapes w/movies. I have a lot of them. A load finished. Doing a load a day is helping. Some little jobs out of the way. funny it was 71 in here when I got up. when I turned on the electric heater, And working around here and in basement. when I came back upstairs it was to warm. Here it was 76. I turned it off. 3 hr's later felt like it was cooling off so fast. Waited till hubby was home. He said its was chilly so back on it went then he came out of bedroom and said. "kind of foolish isn't it to have the bedroom window open and the heater on?" Wups, I forgot I had opened the window. no wonder. sometimes things just don't add up.
