Posting early for Saturday & Sunday
Do something every day that brings you joy.
I have gotten our my Beck Diet Solution book. I know that there is an entire discussion board dedicated to it, but I thought maybe we could incorporate a few of the ideas here.
1. Leave food on your plate. 2. When you feel hungry, don't stress out about it. 3. Stop eating when you have finished what is on your plate. 4. Eat slowly. 5. Eat sitting down.
Any of these ideas speak to you? Any of them that you might could use during the upcoming weekend? Have you ever read this book? Ever used any of it's ideas? Have you found it helpful?
Just for fun: Do you now, or have you ever worn hats as a fashion statement?

I have left food on my plate when I'm full. It has been easier to do since I learned to eat to satisfaction. I don't like leaving food, so I try to only take as much as I think I'll need.
I try to eat slowly, but it doesn't always happen. I do eat sitting down.
I have read the Beck book and it does have good ideas. It has been awhile so I have forgotten a lot of what was in it.
I used to wear hats when it was required for going to Mass. I also wear some more simple hats that I've decorated during the summer for a sun hat. I also have one I wear sometimes in the fall/winter season for when I have a bad hair day.

1. Leave food on your plate. I have never seen the wisdom in this. I think it is wiser to put on the plate what you intend to eat...perhaps a smaller portion and have seconds or something. That said, when we had chickens and ducks that ate leftovers I would sometimes leave food on the plate and not feel guilty because I knew they would eat it.
2. When you feel hungry, don't stress out about it.I don't usually feel guilty...if I eat more than planned or whatever I just put it behind me and move on.
3. Stop eating when you have finished what is on your plate. That is harder to do...if I did what I said in #1 and put less on the plate then did what is says in #3 and stopped there it would be a good thing
4. Eat slowly. Not something I do or think about doing. My sister does this and my mother used to do it.
5. Eat sitting down. I almost always doJust for fun: Do you now, or have you ever worn hats as a fashion statement? Never have been a hat person. Usually for warmth if at all or to keep the sun from burning me if out in it awhile.

1. I seldom ever leave anything on my plate, I try to only take what I need, as I know I am going to eat whatever is in front of me. My eldest son has never had a weight problem, he has never been a big eater, he always leaves food on his plate. I think that is the only reason that he never got fat like the rest of us.
2. I am seldom really ever hungry, I do get weak and shaky at times if I am really hungry.
3. Back to the answer to #1, I have to try to force myself not to go back for seconds. I usually put our food on our plates (just for the 2 of us) then I pack away what's left & put it in the fridge.
4. My mom always ate very slowly, she chewed & enjoyed every bite, I, on the other hand have a tendency to scarf it down.
5. I almost always eat sitting down.
Hats, I have never been a fan. I only wear them for sun or very cold weather, never as a fashion piece.

I love the quote for today! I do need to be sure to make time in even the most busy of days to find some joy! Beck book - I've read it, but it's been a long time. 1. Leave food on your plate. If I'm truly hungry, there's no need to leave something on my plate, but if I'm full, yes, there can be things left on the plate and it doesn't bother me.2. When you feel hungry, don't stress out about it. I'm OK with feeling hungry (to a point). It's unavoidable sometimes and I know it isn't an emergency. (thankful to know that I can feel hungry and know that there WILL be food when I am able to find time to eat.)3. Stop eating when you have finished what is on your plate. Yes.4. Eat slowly. Still working on this (as before, blaming work environment for learning to eat quickly)5. Eat sitting down. Yes. (not always paying mindful attention, but sitting down the vast majority of the time).
Hats - Back in the day of Urban Cowboy and country music and dance being popular, I wore western hats. It wasn't totally out of character for the area I was living in, but not as typical for women as it was for guys. Currently, wear a cap every day at work - not sure it's a fashion statement, but it's a statement that makes the health department happy.

Checking in before heading to the grocery store.
I try to leave food on my plate. Not a lot but our dog waits patiently for any leftovers. Lol. I try to watch portion size when I’m serving myself. I do try to eat slowly and in a mindful environment.
Have a great weekend everyone.

I don’t think on a daily basis to do things that bring me joy, but I probably do find joy somewhere pretty close to every day. Good quote; thanks for the reminder.
Never read the Beck Diet Solution, or any “diet” book that I can remember…
1. I have left food on my plate, but not regularly. I too put on my plate what I think I’m going to eat… 2. When I’m hungry, I eat. I don’t stress about being hungry. 3. I generally stop eating when I’ve finished what’s on my plate. 4. I don’t purposely eat slowly, but I have noticed that I’m never the first to finish eating, so I guess that must mean I don’t eat terribly fast… 5. I eat sitting down about 99% of the time.
When I lived in Tucson (cowboy country), I wore a cowboy hat, although not as often as most people did (I also wore cowboy boots, again, not as often as most people did)… Other than that, I wear a hat only for Red Hat Society functions (my chapter meets once a month, to give you an idea of how often I wear a hat).

Snowy day here with temps in the 20s, so good day to make a pot roast with potatoes and onions then roasted additional fingerling potatoes and boiling onions plus carrots and celery I had cut up. So good! Then since the oven was hot and I had some apples I needed to use so, I sliced them and baked them with cinnamon. They are very good. It’s been a very productive day.
