We are off to take care of Don's hearing aids. Line dance class--had them all there today. Came home and sat for awhile. There is a picture of my son and DIL on facebook that I shared. It was taken this morning in Myrtle Beach. He called just before I left for line dance class to tell me that they got there last night just before midnight and everything seemed fine with no damage from the storms. Good that they are enjoying their anniversary.
Hope to BBL

Gail, I would keep my eyes open for Black Friday specials on a new iPad. I am sure there will be some good deals then.
Sharon, When I started doing the Nutritarian Lifestyle eating I was eating more fruits but this past week the only fruits I have had in the house are bananas and kiwis. A couple of weeks ago I bought some organic grapes that were so yummy that I went back and bought more.
Mike's cousin is in town for their granddaughter's first birthday party. We are going up to see them in a little bit. Mike is going to the birthday party but I had already scheduled a jewelry making class for that time tomorrow, so I will skip the birthday party.

Costco was a mad house. The snowbirds are here and from now until April I will not go to Costco after 10:15 in the morning. I was able to get gas by getting in a line that only had 2 cars and they were both filling up already so I was able to pull to the front of that line after a short wait. That saves me a trip . The hearing aids---don't like the new people working in that place and he told Don his are now obsolete and so new ones are $1600. We will pass on that and just keep using our old ones. However his never whistled till this man worked on them. We miss the old crew that worked there. I did not buy anything but could hardly walk thru the store.

Hi Everyone
My Dermatology appointment turned into a biopsy by my nose and one on my chest. I've had this unnoticeable bumpy area on my skin by my nose, near my eye and sometimes a red dot on my chest. This doctor insisted on checking and maybe it was just as well that it was sprung on my as I didn't have a lot of time to dread the painful novocaine injection! They were both tiny nicks but I do have a bandaid over each so my DGD will be saying 'Booboo' all day on Monday!
The plan I follow is basically Dr Fuhrman's. His 6 week plan is ideal for losing weight and on my best days I follow that. My plan at this point is to have a shake, (blueberries, strawberries, banana kale), w/DGD in the a.m. I'll also have a soup with lots of veggies. A large salad will fulfill his recommendation for raw foods. Roasted veggies and quinoa is a great meal, too. A nice snack for me is walnuts and a couple of prunes or apricots. I also have a large apple each day.
Today I made some refried beans with pinto beans, onions, green chilis and garlic. I spread some on a yummy tostada shell that has about 90 cals and 9 carbs. I added some shredded lettuce, 2 T (0 fat 20 cal) Salsa and 1/2 of a small avocado. This was very tasty and satisfying.
I bought a bag of broccoli slaw at Trader Joes and a bag of Chopped Salad that has Romaine, Cabbage, Scallions, etc. I won't use the packet of toasted tortilla strips, etc. but will enjoy the convenience of the fresh items for a quick salad. I haven't tried Dr F's dressings as I don't use vinegar or any fermented products. I used to use lemon juice and evoo but now I've been mixing Lemon Juice with a little mashed Avocado for taste. A holistic doctor recommended no fermented products or fungus (mushrooms) since I had Squamous cells removed. He has a list on his website and I reviewed and realized that he also said No Nuts, so I need to change that up!
AOTD Especially this Plant Based Diet has given me so much energy. I rarely ate meat or processed food but rarely eating out ad concentrating on beans, a large salad, fruits etc I feel good. It was great walking up so many flights of stairs seamlessly at the Concert and yesterday, racing between buildings blocks away in Boston and feeling fine! I think, especially as we age, what we put in our bodies is so important. We are more susceptible to illnesses and need the best nutrition we can manage to feel well and be well.
Geri, I love the grey floor. It's shown a lot on HGTV, lovely and the latest style. Gail, glad that you are able to drive and the dinner sounds great for tonight! Sandy, enjoy the swim ceremony with Maija. What fun! Sharon, enjoy Silver Sneakers. Our Y doesn't have that but we did in Bonita Springs. I just heard that if one has an AARP Membership, a Y membership is only $28 mo. Geri, your doggies picture is adorable. So sweet! Karen C enjoy Hawaii. The two weeks I spend in Maui was my favorite vacation to date. Breathtakingly beautiful! Vicki enjoy your company! Karen E I'm surprised with those kitties in the barn that the mice don't stay away. Enjoy your quilting projects! Joanne, it is hard to concentrate on ourselves when family circumstances interfere. Hang in!
Oh, this is exciting. My DD, DSinLaw and DGD are in Vermont. They like the place that they are staying at so well that they have asked if I would like to go up for 4 days before and come home on Christmas Day. It is close to where I spend many seasons skiing, at Mt Snow. There is a lovely quaint small town to enjoy as well. We would have our dinner on Christmas Eve. This year my DS goes to DDinLaws family in NY for Christmas so it will be just us getting together. We will get together with DS & DDinLaw the week before. So I will spend Thanksgiving with one son in AZ and the rest of the holidays with DD. I imagine I will babysit on NYEve while they all go out to celebrate. I usually go out early in the day with friends so that works.
Have a good night everyone. I'm off to fix a big salad and make some tea!
