TOOT, TOOOOT! CHUG, CHUG, CHUG! Here comes the Train to Thinsville down the track and into your station so hop on board and enjoy the ride.
This morning it was 38º and going up to 39º and cloudy with periods of rain and snow and winds N 15 to 25 mph. 3-5” of snow is expected today. Just looking out the window I can see it is windy, but so far it looks like just rain.
With the amount of rain and/or snow expected today I don’t think we will be going to church. Beside that MJ has what looks like a sinus infection or else a very bad cold.
Today is Rachael’s 14th birthday and we’ll celebrate at home.
As far as I know there are no other special plans for today, so I’ll just wait and see what comes up.
MAXINE CALENDAR: Sat and Sun 10/13-14: October is “Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.” Take home a furry friend, for the love of dog.

Right now we have snow coming down hard and fast, so I suspect we'll get quite a bit before it is done.

Good morning Doris & ATF,
Partly cloudy this morning and currently 47; the high will be 62.
Only plans I have for today will be my visit to TJ and his family. Then when I get back home a load of laundry and watch whatever football games are on. I never get to see who plays the 1:00pm game because I'm with TJ.
DSIS is nursing a head cold this weekend. She watched 8 month old grandson for 2 days because he had a fever and runny nose. He shared with his grandma. Hope MJ recovers from her cold/sinus issues quickly.
Wish a Happy Birthday from me!
Tomorrow is DS, Ed's procedure to have his kidney stone laser blasted. We will be at the hospital for 11:00am and it's scheduled for 1pm. It is suppose to be same day but it depends on how much, how soon he urinates and his blood pressure. Prayers please!
Snow already! We just shut the A/C's off....no, no, not yet! Way too early.
Have a great day everyone!

Emily,
I'm happy to hear your DS Ed is finally going to have the procedure to break up the kidney stone tomorrow. Its too bad they put it off so long and I know it will be a relief to have it done. I hope all will go well and he will be able to go home the same day.
This has been a very unusual fall with so much rain. I know the farmers are frustrated with not being able to get crops harvested.
I hope your DSis will get over her cold soon.

Connie,
I showed Rachael the birthday cake you posted and she said it is beautiful, but today isn't my birthday - its tomorrow!

I walked this morning and got a few sprinkles of sleet sting my face. On the way to church we had a flake or two of snow and on the way home from church there was so much snow that Dave had to drive carefully and since the leaves haven't all fallen the tree branches are hanging heavy with snow. I planned on grilling chicken outside so still did it on the deck and the snow melted and dried immediately on the lid of the grill.
So are you still celebrating Rachael's birthday today. Happy birthday to her anyway for tomorrow.
Yesterday both my sister and our DS#2 stopped by for a bit.
We have small group tonight clear across town and we'll see if the roads are safe by then

Hi!
We had our usual Sunday schedule of church and brunch, BUT today we had DBIL with us! Then DS and family met us at the cafe. So another family event. I am very tired (but happy) and ready for a nap, but I tried watching football, which usually does the trick, but not today. My mind won't turn off.
Snow? I'm not ready to hear that kind of report. Hope it doesn't last long. Stay safe!
Tomorrow, we'll have to get up early to get DH's pain injection. Then we plan to take DBIL to breakfast, before his flight home. THEN I'll probably sleep!
Have a happy day! Diane

Helen,
Once the snow started here it really came down and it is still snowing now. Everything looks beautiful and white. The branches on the trees are heavy with snow and I hope there won't be too much damage because of that. I suspect quite a few things will be canceled today because of the weather.
We'll be celebrating Rachael's birthday tomorrow on her day and I hope she will be feeling OK. We never know from one day to the next how she will be.

Diane,
It sounds like you have had a busy weekend with some of your family.
I hope you get a good night's sleep since you have to be up early for DH's appointment for his pain injection. Enjoy breakfast out before you take DBIL to the airport for his flight.
You probably are right that with all that is going on you won't sleep well until everything is done.

Phyl,
I'm hoping for a long time before we get our next snow. This is just too early.
The first year we were in Nebraska we had snow on Halloween and the kids went trick or treating in their costumes anyhow.
