Good morning Peggy Sue & ATF,
Partly cloudy this morning and currently 47; the high will be 62.
Only plans I have for today will be my visit to TJ and his family. Then when I get back home a load of laundry and watch whatever football games are on. I never get to see who plays the 1:00pm game because I'm with TJ.
DSIS is nursing a head cold this weekend. She watched 8 month old grandson for 2 days because he had a fever and runny nose. He shared with his grandma.
Tomorrow is DS, Ed's procedure to have his kidney stone laser blasted. We will be at the hospital for 11:00am and it's scheduled for 1pm. It is suppose to be same day but it depends on how much, how soon he urinates and his blood pressure. Prayers please!
Have a great day everyone!

This is depressing. IT'S SNOWING AND ACTUALLY STICKING TO THE GRASS. NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT. Didn't cover my mums last night. They're probably done,
Pretty sure we'll be staying in today. Have to get Ozzie out for a walk but he doesn't seem to be in any hurry. DH still sleeping.
Emily, hope your DS gets the procedure done tomorrow, finally.

morning, betty you can still do 2 things go out and put your mum as close to the house as you can under the eves.then cover them.they will get the warmth off the house. 2. put them in the garage.you can cover them a little bit in the garage.not to much or they can get over heated.
is your garage attached? then I think you could put the mums in the garage up against the house.
think we are suppose to get in the 20's tonight.think we are suppose to warm up this week with sun.
so far just rain here. it is windy. we already at our high. this means I have to get out a light weight coat instead of a jacket.
emily congratulations on the 1.4 lot. I found it.phyl

Good morning everyone,
Yesterday was a slug all day. Felt good to do nothing productive. Today I plan on doing more.
Was a great rainy day. Now we are headed for a heat wave. Will be in the 80's starting tomorrow. Not time yet to put away shorts and sandels.
Today I will get all the boxes ready to go to the shredding company tomorrow. They are hidden in the garage. Glad this project is over. Took a long time. Also today I hope to dig out a big shrub in the back yard. Might be easier because of the rain.
Emily- prayers sent out for your son.

Morning All!
Thanks for starting us Peggy Sue, as you said, I am sure Penny has her hands full right now. Sending good wishes their way.
Betty can’t believe you got snow already! Sorry to hear. The ground has got to be pretty warm still, so I am sure it will disappear quickly and your mums should be no worse for wear. Sending you warm wishes and lots of strong sunshine to brighten the day.
Emily wishing great results and an easy time of it for DS, Ed tomorrow. It’s been a long time coming, so I hope all goes well.
Spent some time cutting and measuring wall paper for the doll house yesterday. The pattern match on some of them is a bit challenging, so I have to take my time. Can’t believe I’m worrying about matching wall paper patterns on a sheet 11x17. One of them has a 6” repeat, so I lose almost half a sheet if I want to match it correctly. Boy they really get you. . . .
Bought some waxed turnips the other day and cooked them yesterday. My hands aren’t as strong as they used to be. Cutting them up into small pieces can be a bit of a challenge. Made a big batch and froze most in small containers. Autumn is autumn without turnips around here.
It’s Sunday, so it’s wash day and water the plants day. I brought my bonsai in about a month ago. It was flourishing outside during the summer like all get out. As soon as I brought it in, it started losing leaves. I put a grow light on it, thinking it needed more sun, but that hasn’t helped. If it keeps going this way, I’m afraid it will be quite bald by spring time. When it was outside it got a lot of rain and it still flourished with all the moisture, even though the instructions said not to over water. I’m watering it once a week inside – maybe not enough to keep it happy. Plants like animals can’t tell you what upsets them- I try to listen, but I guess I’m not meant to be a bonsai master. Will have to vacuum up the leaves today – sad to see. On the other hand my orchid plants are flourishing with the diffuse light they get. Can’t figure out what my bonsai needs!
Well time to get the day started. Hope everyone enjoys their day. Take care and be thankful that our friends and family are safe after this week’s devastation.
Dayle

Was out on FB and saw a new post from Penny.....
Learned yesterday that our house is in even better shape than we anticipated. Both insurance companies called me within an hour of filing my claims online. Hope such positive occurrences continue throughout the process for everyone.
Again, and again, thanks for all the positive responses and all the prayers. Hugs to all.

That's good news about Penny's house, but it sounds like there are things that were damaged and will need to be dealt with. As I see footage of damage on TV, I am in awe of the power and destruction of natural disasters.
hb's caregiver has been to Haiti, Nepal, Florida, and New England as a relief worker. The relief organization he works with is primarily involved with veterans. J is a fascinating person whose goal is to become a PA. He's been a real gift in our lives in helping with hb and enabling me to get away for a few hours.
Of course hb fusses about my choice to have J here. The latest tantrum was about my having arranged to have someone take care of snow removal for us this winter. hb thinks he should do the job. This week he came up the stairs on his hands and feet instead of upright. He's taken three tumbles, as he puts it , this summer. He sits in his recliner all day, and has His back hurts all the time. I found that having someone now the lawn this summer was very liberating for me. It was a chore I loved and didn't want to give up, but I'm glad I did. The same guy is doing snow removal. He has a blade on his truck and can do the driveway in minutes. hb doesn't want to "waste" the money! He can clear the back deck. He's going to find that is too much for him.
My children and grandchildren will be here for a long weekend. I'm really looking forward to that. The trip was previously planned and was supposed to be strictly for fun, but we'll take advantage of the time to have a short memorial gathering for my sister. the weather is supposed to be sunny and in the 60s so we may be able to sit under the willow tree ... with our jackets on!

wow pretty good news from Penny. They were safe from the Hurricane and the house is still standing and seems like it all could have been much worse. I know she is very relieved.
the sun is shining here today. 59° and no wind at all, just a breeze now and then. Blue skies and no clouds. Perfect day.
I don't have to go back in to DDs for the dog as they got home just a little bit ago. She said the work went well at DGDs house and French drains all done except for planting some grass and it will grow yet also.
My smaller pots of mums that were given to me are done, only the flowers that were on them when I got them, I knew they would die quickly as no buds at all. My big pot looks great and it is against the house on the front porch and will be fine, if frost will move them to the garage as it is a big pot. Only did one this year and have all the other plants dumped or just set against the house and will use the dirt from them when the flowers are finished. Right not they are pretty sick looking except for a flower here and there. The coleus look good and I stuck some silk mums in with it. only one pot with them.
Car getting fall detailing done today, he thought it might be too cold to wax but sure with the sunshine he decided to do it. Or it would be back by now. Would have just did in and out cleaning. i have not been very good about keeping my car clean. It bothers my back some and thought I better leave it to him.
