WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C91D1 (new cycle!), 19 points, 4 rollovers, 8 water, 1199 calories, 10,425 steps Twice around community with a friend and another solo evening walk around my area Another pretty good week: Under 1200 calories every day, at least 10,000 steps every day except one DOR, no more than 23 points any day, 18 unused rollovers, 21 unused weeklies, also 56 fitpoints, 42 of which could have been but were not substituted for food… Of course there was that isolated frozen cheesecake dipped in chocolate that is not included in these stats. This coming Monday DS-NJ and I will be having dinner out at an Italian restaurant. That will be another isolated meal, hopefully under control even though out of the box. Jan – So sorry about Leila (coincidentally my granddaughter’s name). Sometimes we just have to put our pets out of their misery but it’s never easy. I’ll be thinking of you all at this very difficult time. Edesia – Hearty congrats to DH, unquestionably a well deserved promotion. Another great location in Hamilton, NJ is “Grounds for Sculpture”. I met a friend there not too long ago and spent a delightful day. Here’s a video www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUF0HleMhLU -- Thanks for giving a positive spin to my DOR. I’ll remember that and treat myself on occasion. Can I assume that TRE stands for time restricted eating? If so, here’s an article on the subject www.healthline.com/nutrition/time-restricted-eating#section5 I can’t, though, find any reference to sleep. Lori – Sounds like a heavenly vacation and a heavenly birthday. Enjoy your last day(s).

16 non-Core points and 14 APs earned.
I’m feeling very down, both about our dog and the accident. I’m struggling with the idea that it was my fault. I feel terrible.
Today is a playoff soccer game. Fingers crossed that the boys will play like they’ve played most of the season.

Down .8 - at the meeting (um workshop) our leader (um wellness coach) happened to mention that it's important to take a DOR every now and then, corroborating Edesia's comment. So I will give myself at least one, maybe two days a week off. Also I was pleased to lose despite the 23 point treat last week.
Jan - Accidents happen. It's why they're called accidents. It stands to reason that once in a while it will be our fault. I really hope you won't obsess over it. Your mental health is much more important than either the car or the cost. What's important is that no one was hurt. So very sorry about Leila. Saw her picture on Facebook. She looks like a sweet, gentle and loving dog. Heartbreaking, I know. I really hope the game goes well. That will go a long way toward lifting your spirits.

Nice WI, Nancy! No, we put Leila down yesterday. DH and I spent the afternoon lying next to her, talking to her and crying. She went downhill very, very fast. She barely moved yesterday. It was heartbreaking. To add insult to injury, we bought a little leather book/frame with her paw print in plaster on one side. Roscoe took it off the counter and chewed it while we were at the game today. Thankfully the paw print is virtually unharmed.
The boys won today! The next game is Tuesday night.

Jan - Yes, after I wrote that, I saw your post on FB and edited my message accordingly. It crossed with yours. Yeah for the team. How exciting. How many games in the playoffs if they keep winning?

Tuesday and Saturday are the final sectional games. I don’t know where the winner on Saturday advances to. Possibly states?

That would be cool. How many teams in these playoffs? IOW what do they have to do to be the champions at this level?
