Good morning Deb & AWF (& sneak in while I'm posting)
Well, I'll just say it...it's snowing like mad, looks like we have a few inches with more to come. Glad I planned on hibernating this weekend to get some stuff done. I've truly been a slug lately.
Right ear completely clogged this a.m. Oliver Twisted has been racing around the house since about 4:45 a.m. I don't know what his problem is but it sure wreaks havoc on sleeping in. I am so tired this morning.
Chugging coffee & planning where to begin this morning...

Morning all... Just watching the freezing rain hit the window. Am heading out in a bit to pick up an order at Target (my fingers have shopped online for most everything) and then getting my nails done. Hate going out in this mess but am finding excuses to keep busy. Still haven't found the elusive Hatchimals for the grandkids but then I'm not willing to stand in line at 4 am either.
Thank you for all your prayers for DH's family. It's just a matter of waiting now.

Good Morning! Day one begins of my two weeks off from work. Hope to check in a little more often with you all!
Yay for fruit deb! And good for you finishing up your shopping today - you are good! I am cleaning today and going to a Christmas get together at a friends later. I am planning on going one day early next week to finish up my shopping. Tonight at the party we are doing a Chinese gift exchange and it is always fun with a lot of laughs.
Sulli take care in that snow. We don't see much of that here in SC.

Iβll take the coffee please Deb. Sulli β I hear you. Mischief, Jack and Missy reminded me that 4:45 a.m. is normal feeding time and Mr. Charlie insisted on his 7 a.m. walk in the sleet. Itβs still sleet and some rain. Not budging until it is all washed away. Yep, Iβm doing the same as you PBNJ. Sending lots of prayers. LaDonna β Sounds like you will have a lot of fun! What I hoped was allergies is now a full blown cold. About to take some Benadryl and hope that helps.

Good morning all.
Snowing here so I'm planning to stay in and wrap presents, make soup, make cookies, do laundry, etc.
My cat was also up at 4 am jumping into the empty shoe box I left in my bedroom. I left the tissue paper in it so it was extra noisy!
I hope everyone has a good day. Sending positive thoughts to all who need them.

Good morning. BRRRR! It got down to 26 below last night. At the moment it is -19 and the high today is only supposed to be about -12. There is a wind chill warning with wind chill of -40. Thank goodness there isn't much wind, only 8 mph, but it still feels damn cold. If there were more wind, it would be brutal.
Depending on what the weather is like this afternoon, I'm going to try to go to Mass this this afternoon at 5:00. Hopefully there won't be any blowing and drifting. I dislike driving at night in winter conditions. But I'd rather go tonight than get up early tomorrow and go. It's 28 miles into town.
I got one batch of soap made yesterday. I need to get some lard in town before I can make my second batch. Or redesign my recipe. I'd rather get the lard and make the batch tomorrow.

Good Morning All. Our area has freezing rain and a dangerous slick of ice. I ventured down the front steps to get the paper an inch at a time. This stuff isn't funny. I couldn't help but think about my poor departed Corey who slid out the front door on similar ice last year. We would have had a big problem this morning. Major accidents on I95 close to here and Dulles is closed at the moment.
It still astounds me after 38 years in VA that winter weather causes a halt in most. This stuff would be problematic everywhere. Hoping for our many wonderful downtown stores that the promised warm up clears things up. I was planning to walk up that way and see what festivities are happening in the stores.
But in the meantime, I have cleaning to do, ingredients to try the Skinnytaste gingerbread cookies, Christmasy books to read, and lots of DVR'd Christmas movies....do not need to leave home...
Sending healing and hugs where needed. Clinking coffee cups with you Deb. Nice of you to throw out the fruit before the eating frenzy begins this week.

Good morning all. Thanks for the coffee and fruit, Deb! So, temperatures here in Houston are supposed to be 81 today, 40 tomorrow with a freeze tomorrow night! Ha, ha. It's really true in Texas that if you don't like the weather just wait 10 minutes and it will change! This town shuts completely down if we have ice and heaven forbid, a snow storm would be disastrous! I'm off to the gym this morning and then to the store. DD and her family are coming over for dinner tonight. We're going to try a new burger restaurant that looks like an old fashioned diner, complete with milk shakes. Sending healing vibes to everyone this morning. pbnj Continue prayers for your family. I loved your multi-tiered Christmas villages! I have a small collection of Dept. 56 and I love it!

Good morning, everyone!
We had a light snow last night. Not really enough for plows, and yet the plowmen are out there anyway. I think they get excited.

I'm IN.
The morning snow gave way to rain (not sleet/freezing rain, just RAIN) so how much will melt depends upon how high the temps go and whether they stay above freezing all night long. We are not anticipating doing any shoveling.
I've been to my WW meeting (down 1.6#) and to KressSibs Monthly Breakfast - a much-reduced group of Toots, me, and DBigSis (Toots picked her up). Good thing the weather was crummy so the diner was empty - we sat for-EV-er talking about everything and nothing (this is the DSis who lost her DH last month). And yes, we did tip generously.
Now that we are home, we have NOWHERE ELSE that we need to go. So there'll be some Cinderella chores, some meal planning for the coming week, and a whole lot of rest. Sounds like a good plan.
