I just can't wrap my head around "with a wind chill -40". MINUS FORTY?!? *swings by everyone's house who is making cookies* Stay warm everyone!! That makes my little ice covered morning bearable...Brrrrrr
Doors open Deb. I haven't begun although I did pull out the ingredients. By the time you deal with airport delays I will still have a few on the plate and crumbs on my chin.

Sending warm vibes to everyone up north and expecting warm vibes to be sent back to us TX sissies. We are spoiled and we don't like cold.Well, cold to us anyway. Sulli,I understand the early morning wake up calls although I get to play musical pets.My dog decided to sleep with me on the recliner last night on the recliner and although a puppy and not overweight she weighs 45 lbs and it doesn't feel good with her laying on my tummy. My cat wakes me up by 4 usually for an early morning snack then the dog comes back up after that. She is not a lap dog.I hope you feel better soon. pbnj,Continues prayers for your family. gottakeeptryin,Enjoy your 2 weeks off. susiq25679,Hope you feel better soon. linda72,It's 83 here today and expecting a low of 28-30 degrees by morning. diva49,Congrats on your loss. Good Morning All. Our area has freezing rain and a dangerous slick of ice. I ventured down the front steps to get the paper an inch at a time. This stuff isn't funny. I couldn't help but think about my poor departed Corey who slid out the front door on similar ice last year. We would have had a big problem this morning. Major accidents on I95 close to here and Dulles is closed at the moment.
It still astounds me after 38 years in VA that winter weather causes a halt in most. This stuff would be problematic everywhere. Hoping for our many wonderful downtown stores that the promised warm up clears things up. I was planning to walk up that way and see what festivities are happening in the stores.
But in the meantime, I have cleaning to do, ingredients to try the Skinnytaste gingerbread cookies, Christmasy books to read, and lots of DVR'd Christmas movies....do not need to leave home...
Sending healing and hugs where needed. Clinking coffee cups with you Deb. Nice of you to throw out the fruit before the eating frenzy begins this week. Love gingerbread...let me know about those cookies, Beth!

I'm IN.
The morning snow gave way to rain (not sleet/freezing rain, just RAIN) so how much will melt depends upon how high the temps go and whether they stay above freezing all night long. We are not anticipating doing any shoveling.
I've been to my WW meeting (down 1.6#) and to KressSibs Monthly Breakfast - a much-reduced group of Toots, me, and DBigSis (Toots picked her up). Good thing the weather was crummy so the diner was empty - we sat for-EV-er talking about everything and nothing (this is the DSis who lost her DH last month). And yes, we did tip generously.
Now that we are home, we have NOWHERE ELSE that we need to go. So there'll be some Cinderella chores, some meal planning for the coming week, and a whole lot of rest. Sounds like a good plan.
Congrats, MJ...that's just outstanding.

Just a quick hey hey before I start the descent into crashed land; Jeremy has a program tonight, way south Boston, and I hate that he'll be making a late night drive in the mess.
We had probably 4-6 inches of snow, definitely pretty, but it turned to rain and it was slow going on the drive to the new apt. I only had the energy last night to pack a small load, and didn't add to it this morning, but I had a 10:00 appt really close to the highway, so halfway there, and I hated not to take it.
Our apartment complex has not been doing a good job with maintenance these past months and I called someone to come plow so that J won't crash on his own doorstep tonight or tomorrow, and the same with me when I leave!
My cold has stayed *manageable* but I finally decided today to move from herbs to meds, so we'll see if I can dry it up in the next couple of days.
Hugs to all that are not feeling well, physically or emotionally. Despite being tired and not at the peak of health, I'm really excited to see the end of the move in sight.

Thank you everyone, for the great and encouraging welcome! Deb, thanks for the coffee and fruit (D would have been nicer...) Did you get your shopping done? We are half done, will finish this coming week.
Pat, I would like to say, also, I am so sorry for you and your DH's family. I don't know the details, but it sounds horrible, what you all are going thru. I am sure she will have a peaceful passing onto heaven. (What a glorious time to go, when Jesus is born!)
-40 wind chill! Yikes, they would close the city down if that happened here in the greater Green Bay area! Stay warm, Cherry!
Linda, my brother in law lives in McAllen, and he keeps posting the forecast, and of course cold to him would be warm to us, at this time of the year, but totally understand how he feels.
Congrats MJ on the loss! You are an inspiration, especially at this time of the year, to be loosing!!
I tried to touch on a few of the personals, but since this 63 yr old mind is a tad overwhelmed, I will stop for now.
Hi! I started this post about 4 hours ago...then the grand kids came early, to stay the night. I am finally able to wrap this up. Will try to stop in tomorrow.

Late but accountable. Checking in from snowed in Denver. Time spent decorating and reading.
