This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Good morning CATs, I've never started the thread before.
I know I've been MIA so I thought I'd take a moment to check in before heading to the gym.
I'm typing from memory so here goes: MCat, so happy that you are getting good medical reports from the parents. I hope boss #4 brings some common sense to the scenario! Frieda, a new start sounds really wonderful in many ways. I hope you are finding some peaceful moments. Shari, so excited that your DH could transfer and that the process to get you to a warmer climate has begun. Mixed feelings I'm sure. Martha, hope your resume continues working its way through the process. Melinda, the new fifth-wheel is really luxe! T, sorry Humphrey found you. Here's hoping he's not too severe. Karla, busy season for you if you are back into the second job. Sounds like the pipeline is ramping up again. Susan, wow, lots of big news. So sorry and yet excited about you selling the beach house. It will open up new opportunities for sure. I'm glad we got to visit you there and enjoy it at least once. pKate, glad things have slowed down a tiny bit for you. Yay for those nice commuter walks. Linda, best thoughts to your DD and DH. Nancy, I saw a super cute pic of DD3 going after some solid food. Hooray! I also love your new FB profile pic with the short blond hair. It's nice hearing you are having so much fun at the new store. Oh dear, I don't know who I'm missing. Special thoughts for each and every one of you.
I'm happy to report that trouble has left the building--permanently.
Conference news: We scored Carmen Agra Deedy for a keynote. That still leaves us with one big keynote gap and a few authors short for another event. This year's conference has been difficult to pull together. Friday is another planning trip to San Antonio. The meetings are coming much more frequently as the time draws nearer.
And for anyone who wants to live vicariously it is scheduled to be in the 80s today in ATX.
Hope it is a wonderful Wednesday for each and every one of you.

Anne! What a great beginning for Wednesday! So happy to hear that trouble is now absent. Thanks for the compliment; I appreciate it. Yes, Three is doing more eating, but only on his terms. DH and I have decided that Tuesdays will officially be declared my "hot mess" day of the week. I got my steps in, but that's all I accomplished in regard to me. Mt. Laundry scaled and conquered, desk clear (have I mentioned how much I love having the time to keep ahead of that every day??), and a good supper made. We had the Grands so DD could go to her bowling night, and DSiL went along. They were SO good for us. Lots to do again today; we have documents to be notarized, groceries, and other odd errands to run.

Hi CaTs. No time but I have to get here! I miss chatting and have lots to respond to from all of you. Thanks, PKate for the cardboard tip - I've shared it with DH. Thanks, Frieda for the packing while sorting advice - all suggestions taken to heart. Lots given (and to be given) to donation, recycle so far. Have today to do more, until lessons.
Great to hear from Anne; congrats on the keynote, and good luck on another. And hooray for clearer air in the bldg. Love seeing 3 eat, Nancy! Don't we all want to eat on our own terms? Unfortunately I'm overeating and scales are reflecting. DM is not going south next Tues as was planned. Staying to help me sort & pack. She isn't needed to watch DSis' dog so has opportunity to stay. There is no doubt she is a help to me in getting through stuff. But my need for quiet and solitude is sometimes overwhelming.
I know there's more but I really must move and act on things that need me. Will try to stop by again. For those living vicariously, 33 degrees, rain coming and wind gusts expected. #headedsouth

Aloha, Long and Lovelies!!
DH left for Anne's neck of the woods for work yesterday, leaving DS and I to have some fun quality time last night. DS came home with straight As (!!!!!) on his progress report, so we will be celebrating that tonight. Last night we went to see "Hidden Figures" - it was good! We both really enjoyed it. It was fun to see DS rooting and cheering for those wonderful women. I forget sometimes, how far we have come. Yes, we still have a ways to go, but we have definitely gotten a ways.
DH comes home tonight (yay!); DS and I will still squeeze in additional quality time beforehand. Don't get me wrong - all 3 of us get along great, DS and I just still really enjoy the time for just the 2 of us.
Martha, there is no harm in contacting the interviewer and finding out the timeline for making a decision. I don't think you have to necessarily worry about that position still being open - sometimes places are required to keep postings up for so long. But I would follow up.
PKate, did you get that nap?
T, are you under covers and surviving?
Nancy, I was chuckling at hot mess Tuesday. I think we all have those days. Three eating seems like some wonderful progress.
Shari, what is the timeline for relo? I am so used to moves happening during the summer due to school terms, that I hadn't thought that yours might be sooner!
Karla! So awesome to hear from you. I hope things are going well for you in your neck of the woods. We are starting to creep in to that time of the year when we are done with winter up north, but winter is not done with us.....
Anne, huzzah! Trouble has left the building! Here's to no one stepping up to take her place.....
I, too, cannot believe that Mrskate's DS is 5 already! Wasn't her baby shower just yesterday?
Frieda, were you able to get that workout in? What are you doing nowadays? ' Melinda, do you leave soon for FL? I want to say yes.....
Alrighty, gotta get to those spreadsheets....hugs to all!

Nice to see Anne & so many others on the board.
MCat- DH leaves for Florida on Saturday so we've been busy packing and getting the new unit ready. I don't fly down until Feb 23. We are having a little heat wave in IA and I'll be heading to Des Moines this weekend to stay with DN. It should be mid 50s which is great for this area.
Anne- so glad trouble is out the door. It makes life much more enjoyable.
Linda- praying for your DD & hoping your DH keeps on the wagon.
I've been feeling great for almost 2 weeks now. I started having grits for breakfast. It's a challenge for me to get fiber without it aggravating my system. The grits taste good & it's easy to digest. I'm always on the lookout for new foods that I can incorporate. Since I quit eating so much fructose (fruit) my belly is flatter. My weight is still up but at least I feel better. I'm learning that I can have 1/2 and orange and then wait a few hours & have the other half. It's all about not overloading my system. I still can't tolerate salads. I should be super thin with all these restrictions but I'm not.
Take are ladies & have a super day.

Good morning CATs!
I too am extremely busy - seems like a trend for many of us lately! I haven't caught up on everyone's news but skimmed through today's posts at least. I think I'd rather be visiting Anne now with her lovely warm weather. Wish Shari could enjoy some of that warmer weather...although I suppose colder temps help with the motivation to pack and not have those temptations of being outside. Wish I could visit Nancy also and see that wonderful boutique! Hidden Figures is one movie on my list as well, Missy...glad you liked it.
Wishing I was less busy and stressed...doesn't help with the weight loss effort! Too many meetings the rest of this week so if I don't stop by again, you'll know why. Thinking of you all and wishing you a wonderful Wednesday!!

Melinda, you must have been typing while I was...love your new toy! I'm glad you are finding your way to a diet that works for you. I desperately need to wean myself from sugar again...SIGH!

I'll have to look up that author, Anne. I hope the other ones fall into place. I'm sure they will. Hope work has settled down too for your office.
Melinda, I love salads so much! That would be hard to give up! Martha: I say check in for the position. It can't hurt.
I'm blanking on personals and am thinking about me. Is that terrible to say? I just feel so in limbo. I think I'll call my advisor in about an hour. A week has passed and no action has happened. I'll do my wo after school today. I need to track better and watch my intake. I hooked up Ms. Aria Scale yesterday and although happy to see me, she noticed there isn't much weight reduction.
I think I'll do a Nancy and clean something. I do feel good when everything is put a way. What did my dad say? A place for everything and everthing in it's place. Or something like that. Wise Dad. I'm listening to bookclub pick on my phone, but my mind is wandering and I am not hearing the story.
I'll try to stop back later.

We went to see The Lion last night. I think Frieda may have texted me that it was good. I'm not sure though. It was very good. I even got teary eyed a couple times.
Has anyone read the Handmaid's Tale? The movie looked appealing so I ordered the book. I have an Amazon Prime account now & it's fun to just order random things. The other day I ordered Oriental 5 spice. Man you can get about anything off the internet.
I cooked some chicken breast last night. In the oven on 350 for about 45 minutes, covered it with some beefy mushroom soup. These were thick. They weren't overcooked but they came out super tough. Maybe it was just tough chicken. I don't normally have these issues. Anyone else ever have tough chicken breast?

Melinda, I LOVED the book The Handmaid's Tale. DH and I were just talking about that book the other day, because I think Amazon or Hulu is making a series based on the book. I never saw the original movie w/Michelle Pfeiffer. Margaret Atwood wrote one of my faves of all time, The Blind Assassin. I was captivated by that book.
Frieda, cleaning always helps me feel better. I find that visual organization makes me feel clearer. Fortunately, DH feels the same way.
Andrea, if you figure out a way to wean off of sugar, let me know. Sugar/chocolate and I have a very close, intimate relationship.

Afternoon check in. Didn't reach advisor. Nothing to report. Melinda, I love AM Prime. Over Christmas, I just order and had everything shipped to my mom. Also, they have great shows on Am video which is included in Prime. You can also rent things, you just have to 'buy/rent' through pc then download on iPad. You can grocery shop etc. I love me some prime. I'll check out those books.

I am a HUGE Prime customer. Incidentally I also recently ordered a new mattress set online. It was $300 cheaper than the Rapid City store best price. However since I am "so rural" they only deliver once every two weeks. It will not be here until the 24th. They did give me a $50 gift card to shop their site for new sheets "for my trouble" so I will have to look tonight.
Anne - So glad the problem made an exit. Just sucks when someone makes things difficult. Any chance the other that left will come back? I am lucky in that we have a good crew working here - plus I have my own office so I really don't have to see anyone else all that often if I am busy or just feeling introverted.
Sometimes my chicken comes out tough, too Melinda - even following old favorite recipe. I'm jealous of your 2.5 weeks in FL! My vaca this year will be spent in a class for EOC Operations in Missoula in June.
Hugs to Freida. I think we have all experienced - to some degree - the feelings you have. Practice some self care.
whopps - gotta run. I'll try to stop back tomorrow.

Melinda, I think our bodies have to adjust to major changes before a loss can be seen. Don't give up; you're doing great!
Frieda, cleaning has helped me through many a stressful time. The real upside is the end result! Hold on, girl; good things are coming.
Andrea, stress is understandable. You have so much going on. I also wish you could come on over!
Karla; not a bad deal with the mattress! Hope you find the perfect sheets. How is the atmosphere surrounding the pipeline?
Missy, when do you get results from your testing? Fingers crossed, my girl; your testing video looked promising.
Well, DH and I have had "one of those days"; LOL. You all know what I mean; appointments made, good intentions, the desire to get things done. Then a snag. Ultimately, all worked out and got done, but it left both of us shaking our heads and laughing...after a lot of running from one place to another. Sheesh!
Step goal met, waiting for the mail.
