Happy Day All!
Art - sounds like you and Linda have this entertaining thing all worked out. Great teamwork!
PeggySue - I'm afraid if you and I tested Emily's oatmeal raisin cookies, there would be none left for their Christmas! Love 'em!
Gail - once again, welcome to Roll Call. Where do you live?
BettyJ - yippee about getting a puppy! It's funny DGS is afraid you'll name it something silly! There's a new dog at the shelter - his name is Highway because that's where he was found wandering. Hope you slept better last night.
Geri - loved that K-cups and Brenna's treats are your essentials from Costco! Ours are coffee (for DH only), toilet paper and paper towels. It was mobbed, by the way.
Dayle - WOW! 18 for Christmas! I'd be overwhelmed as well. But, you do what you can and ask someone else to do the rest!
Linda - you sure accomplish a lot when you "putter" around the house. I actually quit getting any magazines a long time ago because most of them sat around for a long time because I only got one article read and wanted to do more.
Phyl - the news really has been talking about the horrible weather across the midwest. I think they do it for the drama effect, and those of us in the south fall right in with it as we think any temp south of 40 is extreme - and don't even mention snow!
Connie - good for you taking in the feral cat. I'll bet your cats ARE jealous! Am also imagining a cat who's always been outside getting her first experience with a vacuum cleaner! Hope you enjoy your 40 degree hot spell!
Pat - so very glad DH is feeling more and more like himself. I know that's a relief for both of you!
Marilyn - I love our hand held shower heads. As you said, it's awesome when cleaning the shower (but remember I'm not a cleaner so it's really dirty when I get around to it) and I love being able to hold it close to my sore neck and shoulders. Ours haven't leaked - I think that depends on the correct installation. I've done ours myself! About crate-training....my DGD had two dogs, both crate trained and I was always impressed. That was their safe haven - and where they went to sleep and to take a nap, even with the door open. Now, Miss Lily might argue with us about that!
Had a good, busy day yesterday - a lot of trips down and up the mountain. I went to see my friend who had to put her horse (Molly) down right after Thanksgiving. I saw where she is buried and the nice marker they put up. Shed a couple of tears, but we both know she is in a better place and not hurting any longer.
It was 21 here yesterday when I got up, but 45 this morning. However....we are holding on by our fingernails it is so windy. The wind has blown all the furniture on the new porch to one end and I can hear it moving at night.
Today my friend from the local shelter is coming to meet DH and Charlie (not necessarily in that order of precedence) and then we're going to a volunteer meeting/refreshments. I'm very interested in this event as I've been handling the emails for the director and it's very frustrating. There just doesn't seem to be much organization, and not many volunteers - but I may just have not met them. It's like it's all done on the fly.
I hope all of you are coping well with your weather, various aches and pains, and the craziness of the season. Stop and breathe often.
See you tomorrow!
