hi friends, today jeana and I went out for mom and dd breakfast, her idea.
then margie stopped by for a ride to the airport. less then 5 minutes from here. her truck is here.
then we went bumin.the local quilt shop got the wanna make a snowman kits in. I had bought one for hannah.then thought I should get one for lizzie. they are a pre-cut felted wool kit.so should not take to long for the girls to make.
I got my glasses adjusted.we went to another gift shop. then lunch at culver's. walking in don says people don't eat at home anymore or work anymore place sure was busy. that whole area stores out by the mall were busy.we did not go to the mall you would have thought today was black friday. with all the pre-sales it probably was in a way.
then we picked up a few groceries.
ginny I have a friend who has a friend that was invited to help decorate at the white house.the friend said hgtv was there filming it. so check your hgtv channel guide.
ok question of the day. I have alot of downloads and can not get them deleted.what is the secret? just hitting delete does not work.
thank you phyl

YEA, WE HAVE RAIN TO GIVE THANKS FOR TODAY. I went to the store to get a few0 odds & ends this afternoon It had stopped raining when I left to go to the store but when I came out of the store it was raining quite hard so I got quite wet getting in and out of the car, But it is so good to finally have some rain and I hope the fire men and all the people working on the fires get time off to enjoy Thanksgiving. I am not sure what will happen to the people who have lost their homes but I am sure that plans have been made for them. I haven't watched the news today.
I have been knitting quite a lot as I am trying to finish a baby blanket and then I want to get started on something else. I was looking at the weather map and see that most of you are having very cold weather for the holidays. Take care, stay warm and drive safely.
Bye for now.

Phyl, I went to that site and it shows a coffee cup wall hanging...actually one month's block is one with a cup of tea..the teabag tag is hanging over the edge. Didn't see any turkey trot anything on there.
Phyl, for deleting your downloads I tried too and couldn't get them to delete. Did you try right clicking to get that delete option? I have a touch screen so yesterday just pressed down on each one I wanted to delete and that list came up so I touched the delete option and it actually deleted. So I deleted a bunch because I had a lot of duplicates.
Did a do over on the headband and it didn't take any time at all the do it over but I still need to do the chain that goes around to cinch it in the middle. I really need to concentrate on my crocheting. I keep getting distracted and don't accomplish much
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We all have so much to be thankful for

Awesome news that California got some rain!!! Meg, I am so happy for you and also the first responders who have been working so very very hard - putting themselves at great risk to try to control these awful fires. Thank you Lord for the rain. For Meg, I bet it felt goood getting wet while out shopping- and getting healthier air to breathe.
Phyl, like Ruth, I went to that web site and saw the adorable coffee cup hanging. Not sure how to find the turkey trot block....the coffee cup block sure was cute. thanks for the info on HGTV- I always enjoy seeing the White House looking pretty for Christmas....its neat to see the difference in decorating styles.
Ruth, yes we have much to be thankful for indeed!! I am very thankful for the friends I have here- among other things. Hope that you can get some crochetting time in that is not interrupted by distractions.
Did work on my applique a bit.
Have a blessed evening Ginny

Happy Thanksgiving to all.
This is a memory filled day of joyous times spent with family! Even though the cousins and I have moved away, the aunts, uncles, and grandparents and others are deceased, I enjoy the memories of the warm feelings and fabric of family continuity on this day.

Hello Crafters Wishing all of you a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING Hope you are getting to spend it with family and/or friends. Meg - I'm so happy to hear you finally have some rain. I hope that does give all the fire fighters and first responders a break for the holiday. It's very cold here, windchills in the 20s. I'm glad I don't have to go out. I made my pie this morning and have my little 3 pound turkey breast baking now. Hope you all enjoy your meal today and the holiday weekend

good friday morning, no I am not out on balck friday.maybe later in the afternoon.by then some of the crowds should be thinned down. I figure with stores opening last night and early this morning crowds won't be to bad then.
balck fridays were more fun when the kids wer little and bev and I would go.I also think crowds were much kinder then.we didn't hear of to much fighitng back in those days.
today I will take the fall decor down and start putting up the christmas stuff.I can't do to much till don strings the lights in the bay window and around the posts in the kitchen diverer.
ok kyle showed me some more on deleting downloads. I had figured out how to do one at a time. click on the down load, right click and hit delete.
now if you want to save one click on that one. on my computer it will be lined in blue.then hit control A and delete. hey should go bye-bye.
somehow I did find the free blocks on country junktion.don't remeber how.
I did not to wi today.went to bed at 9.30 and I knew I would be awake before I wanted to. yep a little after 3. so got up.
have a good friday. enjoy the day after thanksgiving. phyl

I'm up and having coffee with warm woofers sitting on my lap while I wait for the house to warm up. I turn the heat down ten degrees at night. Used to be more.
No shopping for me today. The crowds and walking and standing would be a problem! I did a bit of therapy online shopping last night. (Shhhhhh ... don't tell!). 30% off spoke to me! My basic winter "uniform" is jeans/corduroy/velour pants, a long sleeved tee, with a vest or sweater/sweatshirt.
I'm spending today and the next two days on part 2 of my bookkeeping problem. Appointment on Monday. There's a part 3 and part 4 as well. I probably haven't mentioned the cause of this situation on this thread. In 2012, at this time of the year, I had two concussions within three weeks. The first was a result of totaling the truck. I skidded on ice into the power transformer and took out the power for our subdivision. The second was directly related to the first. I fell forward into the corner of the kitchen countertop as I was heading to the door to let out the dogs. The result was a MTBI, not to mention a trip to the ER and a few hundred stitches right at my scalp line. Although it didn't feel like it at the time, I was lucky. Vision therapy, vestibular therapy, PT occupied the better part of a year. I still have ocular migraines in the spring and fall when the sunlight hits windows at a certain angle.
When hb came to pick me up at the ER, he got lost in a whiteout blizzard. I had to tell him how to get home. A few months after that, he had a driving evaluation and was told not to drive. He was having memory problems that have continued to get worse. He doesn't have Alzheimer's. It's likely a rarer form of dementia. I feel like I'm living in an alternate universe with a four year old.
That's the short version.
Off to work. I am going to get everything finished and up to date by Christmas. That is my present to myself. (Plus the therapy shopping I did last night).

Good morning all. Sue I did therapy shopping online too but it ended up not being very therapeutic because we couldn't get the one thing to work and it was extremely frustrating. I did get therapy but finding jeans that I really like for over $8 off on each pair and some Christmas gifts for the youngest dgc that lives here in town. So now Christmas shopping is completely done.I didn't even think of his presents before and don't know if he'll even like these gifts. He's 13 so I have no idea what he likes but good thing is it's from Walmart so he can always take them back and use the money for something else. He's the only one here that we still give multiple gifts to. The others just get simple things such as something I crochet for them and this year one of those travel mugs I mentioned.
Well to add to computer woes yesterday my laptop hardrive started to make a lot of noise. Both my dh and my son who's job is computers...hardware, software, and networks, said that's an indication that my laptop is dying so another of the online shopping was looking at replacements. Didn't buy those because I wanted to ask ds' advice on what I should get.I don't do much on my computer...just email, this message board, searching the net for patterns and info, and looking at family's pictures on fb and a couple fb games, storing the patterns and pictures and online banking.I was thinking Chromebook but when I read about them it gave me doubts. Ds said he's never used a Chromebook but he thinks they're good but info online talked about a couple issues which ds didnt mention probably because he doesn't deal with Chromebooks in his job nor does he or his wife or children have one.
Sue I think you mentioned the kind of dementia your dh has. It has to be very hard to deal with. And I'm so glad you got thru the TBI ok. It was a lot of work and those migranes must be awful
Definitely not going out of the house today. Crowds are bad enough other days but today people act like they're getting free stuff. And these are the people that spend mindlessly every other day but black Friday and the days after a holiday they're out there acting like they're actually frugal and trying to save money

Hope each of you had a good Thanksgiving...each of us faces trials in our lives, some large some small. A day to express Thanks for what we have been blessed with is something unique. Sometimes the trials are blessings, although its sure hard to see that when you are going through the trial. I consider it a blessing that we are here for each other, encouraging each other, supporting each other or just listening.... Thanks to each of you for that!!!
Sue, thanks for sharing your story with us. There must be times during which you are feeling very overwhelmed, its good to hear that you do get some respite care for your Dh. A litle bit of retail therapy sure does help.....and knowing that you can get what you want online, well that is great (and very liberating!). Hope you can straighten out your bookeeping issues with a mininum of difficulty. Will pray for your health and your husbands too.
Ruth, glad your Christmas shopping is done! (Wish mine was....) Oh how frustrating that now the computer is acting up!! I know my daughter uses CHromebooks- her school provides them for use. I know little about how they work and if they are good. I use an IPAD - love it. Not sure if that will work for what your purposes are. Think its best to chat with Ds- as he will be your โexpertโ when it comes to debugging the computer if it needs help. How did we live without these things?
Phyl, hope you had a restful day. Do not blame you for skipping your WI. Get back to meetings next week....
CJ- how was your turkey? What kind of pie did you make?
Busy day yesterday, the meal preparation that never seemed to end. All went ok but I am tired today. We went to Dd#1 today, just to say hello. I missed seeing her and the grandkids yesterday- but if they were here too, things would have been chaotic. Pretty sure that Dd#2 and I are putting our tree up tonight.
Hope Meg had a good Thanksgiving also.... GInny

Yes I do feel very blessed to have you all in my life!!! I silently thank Meg all the time for telling me aboout this site and inviting me to join. So again, Meg, thank you so much
the only crafting I've done so far is look at all the patterns that people posted today. There are some really good ones.So far today my laptop is acting ok although it's been doing some strange things but it's actually running well.
If it wasn't for computers I would have never met you ladies so I'm grateful for computers also. Computers make our lives easier in some ways and not so easy in others.
Oh and I did do some other crafting...according to our rules of what constitutes crafting ...by moving some things in my craft cave...Sue that's my bedroom that I turned into my craft supply room... so that dh and I can move another old cabinet into that room so that I can use it for my yarn.I just have to wait until his back is feeling a little better so that he can help me get it up the stairs
Have a great evening all. I'm going to start the doll I'm making for dggd
