Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store , attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward crafting activity. We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion. Ginny
Ruth, hope your son gets back to you and can help you with your computer woes.
CJ- is your mailbox ok? It stinks that you have to clean up after someone elses accident.....I agree
Long day today. BBL

Good morning all and I do hope you all have a great week.
No ds hasn't got back to me yet. I don't think he reads his email often. I probably need to check the phone as he may have called. I tried the restore again this morning after deleting the virus program and it actually said that restore was successful but when I checked nothing had been restored at all. So I checked to make sure there were no virus programs and there weren't so I tried it two more time and after each one it said retore was unsuccessful. So guess I just have to accept that all the things in my bookmarks are lost. I have to go to my downloads which thankfully are ok and get some things back that I had in bookmarks which includes a LOT of the patterns but it will be time consuming because there are so many of them. Mostly though I need to get that plaid course I paid for and some Bible study courses
I didn't do any actual crafting yesterday but did look up some new patterns to add to the new bookmarks which doesn't show up as nicely as the old one did.
CJ, I sure hope that no one actually destroys this new mailbox and I know you get ried of cleaning up after accidents and people littering.

Well this week got off to a crazy start. Mondays are always that way.... Babysitting went ok. During DGD’s nap I got to finish the first snowman and start a second. Got some crafting in today.
Ruth- Oh, I wish there was some simple way for you to sort your way through all this. I guess the only way to avoid this in the future is to put all your stored patterns in a file on a flash drive or something like that. Then its yours....and cannot be corrupted. Hoping that in your search for patterns you find some at least as nice as the ones you unfortunately lost. It must be so very frustrating for you.
Hope everyone had a good day. Ginny

hello crafters, this am was the lab at our clinic.first one in the door, first one taken back to the lab, first one to walk out.
had to give blood for my platelets and a1c.sure hope the a1c stayed where it was in may or has gone down and not up.
well afterwards I went to mcd. hadn't been there many,.many months for breakfast. wasn't very good compared to when delona and I would go there before going to the y.
now we meet at they and go for a healthy lunch(99% of the time.) once in awhile we break the rule.
this afternoon was the chiro. showed him all the stuff they say I have wrong, he said they are bascially saying I have alot of inflamation in those spots..
oh yeah ruth computers and their thing.friday the owner of the store said he would send me the turkey trot pattern I bought fabric for. he did.I did not find it till this am.went to my spam.I thought the company was going to send it. he did as a pfd..I could not open it.sent him the message.he said do this do that.well if you don't understand the lingo you're out of luck.
I did get to the sit on my tablet. now I can get to the site on my puter. problem is it is suppose to be a free download.
all I site and the patterns. cannot find it under free patterns.
hope kyle comes thursday he does everything so darn fast.need to have him get my printer working. it will work for don on his site but not mine. I was hoping the pattern would come in a email with printed directions and I could forward it to don and be able to pint it out
when you take as senior class in computers they don't teach you everything you need to know..or all the lingo. it is a free pattern but they want 3.99 for a printed pattern.
ginny glad you got to work on your snowman
ok jams and robe time. I am done writing my novel. love to you all phyl

Good morning all!!
Phyl, all in all sou nds like you had a good day. Hope that your bloodwork comes out well, with your A1C being lower, or at least the same. Yes, sometimes you gotta splurge at Mickey D’s. I am a big fan of their oatmeal (8 points a serving though!) and usually opt for the fruit and yogurt parfait. Its refreshing that your chiropractor was able to simplify your aches to inflamation....not that that takes the discomfort away but it makes it easier to understand. Sometimes imes medical jargon is so confusing. Jams and robe time sounds wonderful....hope you had a warm evening.
Saw the weather this am, and it sounds like some of us are in for some mighty cold weather- which might impact the Thanksgiving Day parade in NYC. I no longer watch, used to like it when I was little.
Got to study last night....but I was so tired. Also did one last run to the food store to get some things I forgot and a few things Dd needed also. Tonight my friend and I am going to CTS- mostly for fun.
Going for a walk soon, DGD will be here at 9 to spend the day with us. Have a blessed day all Ginny

Phyl, I've received even those type patterns in my email but since you didn't get it there I would think it nay have gone directly to your download file which is under, in my computer, the "my computer" area. I hope you find it. If you can't find it and Kyle comes, he will probably be able to find it easily for you. I have a printer but it's connected to our old computer that is dead. I don't know why dh hasn't moved it to the "new' one which is over 2 years old now.Of course even before the computer died the printer actually wouldn't print except in the test mode.
BBL. dh just woke up and I need to visit him for a few

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today.
Thanks for the thoughts on my new mailbox, it's still standing - no telling for how long though. It won't surprise me if it's knocked down again in the next few years, if I'm around here that long.
I went out and ran some errands this morning, it's a cool windy day here. Thanksgiving Day it's supposed to be very cold - in the 30s. Hope your weather will be better/good.
I watched the Holiday Baking Championship last night and didn't enjoy this week as much. The desserts were all very "bland" looking, not holiday like at all. I hope the next few weeks there are some prettier items. I don't like to complain since I could never be as creative as this bakers are. It did bug me though that the person who was eliminated was given an ingredient to use that just didn't go with the others. I don't know if anyone could have made those flavors work together and it doesn't seem fair she was eliminated because they didn't taste well together.
Is everyone getting ready for Thanksgiving? Do any of you have a lot of cooking/baking to do?
Take care everyone!

Well I'm back.
CJ, sorry the Holiday baking show was not a good one. Yes some of those shows give extremely weird ingredients and I think it's ok as long as all the contestants get the same ones but when they give one that won't work to only one of the contestants then, no, it's not fair at all. And no I'm not cooking nor baking. Years when I worked I always worked on Thanksgiving so we celebrated on the weekend after...if I had it off. If not we did it a different day. I used to have dd and her family come over here but after she had so many children it was easier to go there and I usually took all the food except for the turkey and sometimes wished I had taken that too. My dd is probably the most disorganized person in the world.
After my previous message and after visiting dh I put a stew in my instant pot but when the time was up the meat wasn't cooked so I have it on my stove top to finish now. Good thing we weren't going to eat it right away anyway. I also have on a pot of beef barley soup. Last night I made dh strawberry cherry crisp.I also have cranberries, apples and orange sections simmering Last time I ate cranberries they didn't cause a problem so I'll try again but keep to small portions. This will be my dessert instead of the high calorie crisp.
Well you know how I love fast food. If I went to McD's though for breakfast I'd want the hotcakes and sausage and not only is that high calorie but it has gluten which will stir other things up and I'm never there at breakfast time anyway...do they still serve breakfast all day? I know they did for awhile as a test thing.Ginny, I do love the fruit and yogurt parfait. Now they make them so small. When they first started selling that it was a huge container full. I used to get them on the way to work to have when I got a chance to eat.
Phyl I will be praying for good results from your tests. I hope both your platelets and A1c go down.It would be great to have the A1c down so that you can enjoy some holiday treats without feeling guilty or doing damage to your body. I'm glad you have a good result at your chiropractor.
It's good to hear that all of you have your last minute shopping done. I won't be going to any stores until at least Monday and hopefully all the crowds will be cleared out by then.

Just dropping by to say hello!
Today I had appointments with the CPA and the physical therapist. I sent hb with his caregiver to get a haircut. The snow from the weekend is off the front steps and landing.
The deer have been crossing our driveway as dusk approaches. There are also a few out in daylight hours.

thank you Ruth.I finally found it.took a few tries to get the printer to print, it did finally. funny it would print this turkey trot pattern but won't print for me on my emails.
today was sit and sew.I worked on the snowflake table runner. this will take time. a lot of pieces. I have to make 36 flying geese rectangles. I only got one side done on the rectangles today.
good thing I am not in a hurry.this will be in between project, when I don't know what to work on next or have to get done.
have good rest of the night. phyl

Phyl I'm so glad you found it! I love flying geese. I mentioned before that when I attended the one series of quilt classes...the one and only set I've every attended...the instructor sold us a flying geese maker. That was about 13 years ago so I'm sure I'd never remember how to use it now. I love how they look on the edge of a quilt top. I have simple tastes in quilting...log cabin and flying geese.
Only crafting I've done so far today is look thru the bookmarks they imported from IE after I got my computer working again and I also went thru all my downloads looking for the plaid course.Well I didn't find it and just opposite of what happened with your pattern, Phyl, I found it in my email. Lots of my patterns from my Chrome bookmarks were in there too but not all of them by any means. But I do have new bookmarks started. Now I'm looking for that quilted table runner I mentioned here one day. I don't remmeber the name of it but it's not in my downloads. I found it on youtube so maybe I can find it again.
Now I think I'll try to get one ear warmer done. It's only 9 here but I did get up early this morning so will probably be going to sleep earlier than usual tonight but the earwarmer is easy and fast.Tomorrow I'm going to start the things i want to make for Christmas. There's not much time left but, as I said, it won't really matter much if I get them done in time or not.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today and ready for the holiday tomorrow It's a beautiful sunny day here, temps in the low 50s. I did a few things outside earlier since the next few days it's only going to be in the 30s! I'm glad I won't have to go out. I'm not cooking anything tonight since I can do it all tomorrow. Years ago I always baked the pies the day before since that's the way my mother always did it. I'm guessing it freed up the oven for her on Thanksgiving Day. My little 3 pound turkey breast doesn't take long to bake, so I just bake my pie on Thanksgiving morning now. Take care everyone!

Good afternoon everyone Looks like everyone is very busy. I plan on doing some house cleaning today and then crocheting the rest of the time. I did work on the headband last night and will finish it today. I just have one row to go and it's done. I need to find a button for the one that took me so long to make and there are a couple more I want to do but will start the planned Christmas things today. I found a hat pattern that is made with wool ease yarn..it's a ww but is thinner than most other ww yarns. I have the color that ds' second daughter decided is her favorite since she saw the fingerless gloves made with it.So the hat will match the fg. She is one of those that have an early in the year birthday so after the Christmas things I'll work on those bdays then maybe I'll have time to work on some patterns and techniques I've wanted to try and maybe even make myself something.
Have a great day everybody!

Good evening, Yup, today was one of those days, lots and lots of cooking....got a fair amount done for tomorrow- which will be a bit easier.
CJ- sorry that your baking show was lack luster. Especially because its holiday baking, which we would all expect to be something special. Congrats on your mailbox being intact still. May it stay that way for a long time.
Ruth, you forever have a game plan for home made gifts for your family!! I would love to see your stash of yarn- its great that you have the perfect color yarn for DGD so that her hat will match her fg. Perhaps it is time to make something for yourself!! (I agree!)
Phyl- love your attitude on the table runner, just work on it as you can....take your time. It will all come together and look great, I am sure. Hoping for good bloodwork results.
Meg- I have heard you have rain coming- stay dry, and I hope that it helps clean the air and put out those fires.
Sue, hope all is well with you.
Rene- ditto....hope you are doing well and getting ready for Thanksgiving.
Hope to either sew or crochet this evening. Perhaps I will bbl Ginny
