A few minutes before leaving for work. It's not snowing now but sounds like more later. I don't think we've had that much but it must be at least 2" since our guys were just here to clear the driveway. They don't come unless we've had 2" After work DH wants to go with me to HyVee so I'll pick him up. After three weeks he finally gets his car back Monday. He could've had it yesterday but he didn't want to go out in the weather. I plan on after getting home from HyVee staying in where it's warm.

Good morning, all LTMs,
Marm, do you log out each day? I never do that, and haven't had problems. SSHHHH! Don't say that too loud, as I don't want the elves to hear!
DH's tummy is a bit better this morning, but he still had issues through the night. He feels bloated and his stomach constantly rumbles. Today, I'll see that he stays on chicken soup & dry toast & crackers. Hoping that will finally clear it up.
We went for a bike ride to the Winn-Dixie near us. Not as long a ride as I'd like, but I'll try to get out again later. I do have linens on the line, since Saturday is our scheduled day for changing the bed & washing them. Gareth, I know YOU have a "day", too!
Marlene, how are you adjusting to the WI winter scene, after so many years in warmer weather? We will be going to Anchorage in September. I'll have to pick your brain for any "don't miss" sights! I am having problems finding workable flights from Vancouver after the cruise to Tampa. Timing doesn't work. I think we will fly from Vancouver to Seattle, then to Denver & spend some time w/ our Colorado family.
Hoping everyone has a wonderful day!
Rose Marie

Thanks for my star, Marm. God is good!! We are having rain, to turn to snow this afternoon and COLD. House is dry and warm. PTL
Rose Marie, take care of your DH. I am sorry he is having health issues. Gareth, be safe. I am sorry I can't stay to visit. I need to hit the shower as I'm to meet friend in 1 1/2 hours.

Good Morning,
What a beautiful morning! I don't think we got as much snow as predicted, but more is to be one the way. I'll believe it when I see it. A little colder this morning but nice. I slept really good last night again. Didn't wake till 6:45 - not even for a BR trip. A winter wonderland walk would be nice today & bring back fond memories of AK.
I have sheets washing now - not on my schedule-less day but a good day to do them:) I also have the chicken carcass cooking so soup is on the way & I will be making zucchini muffins today. They were scheduled or the zucchini may have had to be tossed.
DH is out snow blowing with Waldo. W. is a BIG help! Yesterday he wanted to go out so when I swept the deck I took him with me. He ran to the garage & sat up close to the door where there was little snow - DH always opens the door for him so he can sit inside the garage. He must have decided it was too cold on the outside cause all of a sudden he came galloping to the back door, sliding in the snow as he made the corner. The door wasn't latched & he tried to open it before I got there. Enough of this, he must have thought!
I may not have a schedule but my DD helps me make one! She & her family will be coming Christmas Eve day - this sounds familiar, I think I told before! Anyway, we'll have a little activity 'to make the season bright" Dinner at noon, church at 5:30 them cards & snacks in the evening. Maybe Cheryl will come out on THE day but I haven't heard from her yet. If so it will only be snacks - I think. That will be OK all around. Maybe DS & family will drop in also. Just so I don't have to make a full meal, I can handle it.
Wonder if the problems some of you had getting here has anything to do with my not being able to put up an avatar earlier. Probably not - that was more apt to be my fault.
Marm, glad you able to go out for pizza with family. I always feel I should make whatever effort it takes when the younger ones suggest we go. Some families don't have that connection & we have to make memories now.
Mary, my avatar was free! I just had to figure out how to get it done. As Christmas gets closer I'll change accordingly - if I can remember how.
Rose Marie, you may have missed my post after yours yesterday. I LOVE this weather! For more details on how much & why check yesterday's post:) I miss hanging clothes outside though:( Hope DH gets to feeling better soon. As you often say, rest, rest, rest. September can be cold &/or rainy in AK. Late spring or summer is the best weather - at least when we were there.
Gareth, happy shopping. Lines were long yesterday so be prepared to wait. The customer service was busy but WM had 3 people working there so it went relatively quick - better than other times.
Ruth, I get some things at WM so always plan for shrinkage. Sometimes that's works & sometimes not. I didn't check fabric content the other day & what I got was 60% polyester so should wash nice & I decided to go for a smaller size. Nothing is standard anymore not even within the same brand I've found.
Got to hit the shower & get on with my day. DH couldn't get the snow blower started the first time so went to try again. Worked fine the other day.
Have a good one....

Good Morning Marm and LTMs,
This morning it was 4º (feels like -15º) and windy with snow showers and the high is to be 5º and windy with snow showers during the morning and a snow accumulation of about 1” and wind NNW 25-35 mph. We are in a winter weather advisory until 6:00 PM today. We also have a wind chill advisory that frostbite can occur in just a few minutes of exposure. It sounds like a good day to stay inside.
MJ came down with the flu yesterday, aching all over and has a fever. She started on her Tamiflu last night. Yesterday Rachael was feeling a bit better but said her throat still hurts so she is taking Advil for that in addition to the Tamiflu and she feels good enough to want to eat. I hope she is feeling better when she wakes up this morning.
MJ said that on the way to pick up Hannah and Sarah after school the roads were already slippery and some cars had slid off the road and into the corn fields. When she got to Lincoln the city workers were just getting out to salt the streets. Sarah’s Christmas program was cancelled and I wonder when or if it will be rescheduled since there are only 3 more school days until Christmas break. Hannah was to sing the National Anthem before the basketball games last night at her school but they were cancelled because of the weather.
Another Japan memory: I remember living in Narashino, a suburb of Tokyo. We chose this place to build our house because it was close to the American School in Japan where the kids went to school and I worked and also close to the train station where Bill could catch the train to go to the places where he worked. He preferred to take the train rather than drive in the busy Tokyo traffic, which was nice because that way the station wagon was available for taking the kids to school on rainy days. In nice weather we would ride our bikes to school in the morning and there was a fairly steep hill we went down. We couldn’t just coast and had to brake our bikes going down and it was fun but walking the bikes back up after school wasn’t much fun. In the winter it could be chilly or downright cold but we got used to it. We only had one busy street we had to cross. I loved my bike back then but haven’t ridden one in years. More tomorrow.

There's so much i want to respond to but my poor tired brain won't remember it all.
I do hope your dh is feeling batter fast Rose Marie and also Doris' family
Cold here today but nice and sunny and the beautiful snow has little sparkles in it. We ddidn't get as much as expected either but what we have is great.
I've been cooking and now have to rest because I have a tummy aches which is not unusual for me.Pain from gluten intolerance is gone but the other pain is still coming and going. Maybe I need to cut out more foods such as maybe dairy or something.
My laptop was doing some weird stuff again this morning. Then it ssaid it was updating then said it was unable to complete the update and had to take away the changes...never saw that message on here before.
Have a great day all.

Good afternoon all, We did go out this morning to do a little shopping. The streets and highways weren't good, but with using our commonsense we did go to Kohls. I had planned to go a little further to WM and Marshall's, but we got the socks we wanted for the guys at Kohls, plus a few other things. Then, of course, it was after noon so DH wanted to eat out. I suggested the Vietnamese restaurant close to home that I know he likes, even though I know all the sodium isn't good for him. He gets very down at times with not being able to eat what he would like, so that's why I suggested there. We will eat very light tonight, perhaps just oatmeal or soup, to make up for the indulgence.
I put up our stockings as you can see in my avatar. I'll post another picture when they are filled. There are 17 of them. The last 6 on the far right are for the young family, with the new baby, that won't be here. I will send their gifts to them via our DD. Jazmin was snooping around them and I tried to get her picture with them but she wouldn't cooperate.
Marlene, I'm surprised that Waldo will go outside. I guess because you've always taken him outside in the parks where you've been. Jazmin has no interest and I would discourage it as I doubt if we would ever get her back. She loves watching the birds and wildlife from a window, but easily steps aside when I go out on the deck.
Doris, I'm sorry you have another family member not feeling well, your MJ. I hope you don't get it now.
Ruth, I'm hoping your tummy is feeling better now. Is it usually that sensitive? Have you been eating unusual things to cause this? And, I hope your computer gets back to normal, too!
And, Rose Marie, your DH, too! I hope he's over it soon! What's with all these of us not feeling well? I hope it stays our of Minnesota. This cold should stop anything from entering our systems. Tomorrow it isn't going to get above zero all day. Don't you feel bad for us RM?
With all I need to do, I better move on. Have a good evening all.

I am ready for a break but the bed still needs to be made & I haven't "styled" my hair. Not really a styling but I use the curling iron on it as well as I can. Even this short I can get one turn. Last load of clothes dried but I didn't get them out right away so they are on fluff now & the last lonely muffin is in the oven. Got the soup made in time for lunch & DD. She stopped so had a bowl us. I like those unexpected visits:)
Snowing a little again but very fine. Will have to snow a very long time for it to amount if it stays that light.
DS has gone to set up for an anniversary party - he has the speakers & equipment for music. He didn't know how late it was to run but I'm sure we'll be in bed when he gets home. I'm ready now:)
Doris, I hope Hannah gets another chance to sing the National Anthem & Sarah's program is re-scheduled. If all are well you'll be able to go too.
Ruth, sorry you're not feeling well. Hope is only lasts a short time.
Better keep moving or I'll decide not too.

I should have gone to visit my ds and his family for Christmas. It's 66 there right not...southern Indiana
Mary I'm glad you got to go to Kohl's and that they had what you were looking for so that you didn't have to go anywhere else. We have a Marshall's now... it's probably been here for a couple years but I haven't been to it yet. It's on the other side of town where they've been building more and more stores and restaurants. I don't go over there often at all as you see. Dh hates to shop but he kikds to get out so I don't often get out alone where I could take time and really look around.
Mary, I have a lot of gastrointestinal things. I've never been able to find what causes them except for the one pain that i found out was gluten intolerance. Thank you so much for the get well wishes. It's gone now. Sometimes it hurts just becauase I need to eat.
Marlene, I need to fluff mine too. I get busy and forget to get them out of the dryer.
Mary, on this page I can't see your avatar so will go and look at it. I bet all your family appreciates them and loves all the little things you put i them. What fun.

Mary,
I shouldn't get the flu the others have because I got my flu shot early in the fall and so far I've been feeling fine. King and Hannah haven't had the shot but so far they seem fine too.
