Good morning new and old friends! Been forever since I opened a thread! Hope you all are doing well as you plan your holidays and travel. Iβm settled in my new home in Massachusetts and will enjoy turkey with cousins this week. That is if I can even eat any after 2 extractions yesterday. Great diet motivator!
Relearning WW as I begin tracking and try to figure out all the changes. Thank you all for posting and updating.
βWicked Good Weedβ opens its doors in Massachusetts today. Have to laugh at all the news coverage.
Have a great day!!

Good morning. diva49 , (((HUGS)))---sending prayers. On to Thanksgiving prep. Gravy was done over the weekend, packed up and in the freezer. Rutabagas and creamed onions will be done today. Pumpkin cheesecake and mini chocolate pies tomorrow. Dismal weather, cold, cloudy, wintry mix predicted for later. All slushy and messy out there. The good thing is that pretty much all of the 10" of snow we got the other day is gone. Lots of mud and slush but driveways and sidewalks cleared themselves. And the best thing is that we finally have someone now who is going to do our plowing for future snowstorms. Great reviews and he stopped by to give us a price less than an hour after we called him. Licensed, insured, and lives only about a mile away. I had to put my foot down with DH---he had a hard time admitting that his days of plowing are over. This guy has a landscaping company too which has me thinking about contracting him for mowing in the summer but I will have a hard time convincing DH as he loves riding his lawn tractor! We shall see. Oh, and we had a visitor yesterday. I heard noises about midnight but the motion detector light didn't go on so I ignored the noises. This is what we found in the morning: The bear apparently stood up on its hind legs and took the cake of suet from a suet feeder that was hanging about seven feet above the ground. He was quite polite---simply pulled open the grate holding the suet and removed it, no damage done. Wishing all a good day.

*pouncing on pbnj* quick someone grab the gorilla glue duct tape! Welcome back my friend. ((( diva49))) good luck at the appointment, kick a$$, take names, show them who is boss. Weβve all got your back here. Hugs. doordie50 I donβt live in MA but I would say either that or someone is opening a very poorly named nursery. Sorry about the brakes susiq25679 but better finding out now than on the road with the weather you have. Have a wonderful day everyone! βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈππ

A BEAR fullmahina ?!? *runs in circles screaming and squealing* glad your girls were safe!! It never went near the coop. From tracing the tracks, it sauntered up our driveway (about 400'), walked over to the deck, took the suet, and then moseyed on over to the protected wetlands on the side of us and disappeared. Stopped for a midnight snack and moved on. No tracks on either side of the driveway and all the tracks in the snow were close to the deck, starting where the driveway ended. I actually enjoy exploring tracks in the snow. This was the first time I've seen bear tracks in snow but I'm sure the bears must have been here before! We'll hold off on putting suet out for now. The bears should be hibernating in a month or two and then we'll put it out again.

fullmahina,- those tracks are pretty cool. I have a friend whose 86 year old mother lives in Northern PA and has bears a lot. She saw one and tried to shoot it from the porch. Her porch is now full of shotgun holes and her son has the gun!

fullmahina ,- those tracks are pretty cool. I have a friend whose 86 year old mother lives in Northern PA and has bears a lot. She saw one and tried to shoot it from the porch. Her porch is now full of shotgun holes and her son has the gun! Long story but there are reasons I am not too keen on guns in my home. Years ago we had a total of seven guns, used for hunting and target shooting so I am certainly not anti-gun but not quite ready to have one again. I might give in and get a shotgun and a good gun safe someday though. Someone said to keep firecrackers and throw a lit strip of them out at any bear that was getting a little too close. Others say yelling and waving and acting like a maniac will help, unless you are between a mother and her cubs---then all bets are off!
