I'm IN.
I am watching the moon set over Lake Teedyuskung at 6:30am. It is about 2 degrees <!!!> outside but we are cozy and warm and thoroughly enjoying our Woodloch retreat.
And of course there is coffee... ☕☕☕

Good morning! Had a lovely Thanksgiving, ate until I was ready to burst, and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The thought of points or calories or fat grams never entered my mind. I arrived at my DD's house completely empty and proceeded from there. I refused all offers of leftovers. My beautiful pumpkin cheesecake remained at DD's along with a few mini chocolate cream pies. It really is nice not to have a fridge full of goodies that only I would eat. DH loves the choc cream pies so we took home a few of those but I can resist them. Woke up to a temp of 3 degrees. Clear and icy cold, everything covered with frost. No wind, which helps a bit. It will be a day of switching out waterers for the chickens every three hours or so. But up to 50 on Sunday! Yay? Planning a low calorie day and very thankful there is no pumpkin cheesecake calling my name in my fridge. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. KOKO.

I'm in. Morning Friends! Hope everyone had a nice holiday.
Well I'm much warmer waking at 12 degrees than you gals. We had a great day with family and friends. It's been a few years since I've gone early in the day and I had forgotten just how many people have dogs. They're welcome to bring them to the bonfire which starts at dawn. The dogs get to run the acreage off-leash and all of them seemed to get along. Fun!
Most friends and neighbors head out by early afternoon for their own family dinners and we finally sat down at 5. I tried a bit of everything but, no seconds and no dessert. I brought home a piece of pecan pie to try later but, now that it's a new day, I may just take it to my elderly neighbor to enjoy.
I never go anywhere on Black Friday. Relaxation and recovery is on tap today.
Enjoy the day!

We had a nice warm 16 walking the dogs and feeding the ferals early this morning, but there is no wind and brilliant sunshine so it feels and looks much better than it is. Did not go over the top yesterday. Won at the casino so that was a plus. Tomorrow is ladies day as the wineries so today will be low key to balance it out.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are moving forward.

Good morning. It is a whopping 57° here right now; I feel like y'all should come over for a pool party! T. dinner was enjoyed. One plate was enough and nobody had seconds. I did not come home with leftovers, so it is easy to be right back to routine today. We have had more rain and the air seems very clean. For those who are still hoping for a deal on an Instant Pot, I saw the Instant Pot Ultra on sale at Amazon for $84.99, only $15 higher than the IP Duo. Prior to this the cheapest price I've seen on the Ultra was $99. [ fullmahina]

I truly love old-fashioned slow cooking (in the oven and stove top) and occasionally use my crock pot. I find cooking very therapeutic and since I am home now there isn't a real need for speed. As much as the thought of speedy cooking had me interested initially I'm afraid it was just an episode of "shiny object" desire on my part, I think. Thanks for the thought, anyway! Glad your air is clearing up! Now the rain has to let up---NO LANDSLIDES!!!!

Thanksgiving was lovely. My family was here. We made the majority of the dinner and are stuck with most of the leftovers. We gave away as much as we could, but there's still so much. Last year there were hardly any leftovers, so strange. We made the same food and the same people were here? Anyway, most of it will make good healthy meals. Except the pie. We have a lot of pie left.
I am not weighing in today.

I'm in & thrilled that I have leftovers for today. I cooked everything so it's all healthy. Everyone enjoyed the pumpkin angel food cake for dessert so I'm happy I went with a lighter option this year. I think that'll be the plan next year as well.
No Black Friday shopping but I might head over to my library & find some new books. Hope everyone has a nice day.

I’m in. No leftovers here. Thinking looking for a turkey to roast and then make soup. The refrigerator is cleaned out and the reset button has been pushed. Have a great day everyone.

Thinking looking for a turkey to roast and then make soup. Black Friday is my most favorite grocery shopping day of the year—stores are almost empty. I trekked to Walmart Neighborhood Grocery this morning to buy a whole chicken and ended up with one and a turkey breast. I got a recipe from the Instant Pot web site for cooking the whole chicken and that's what I made for lunch. I added 5 minutes because the chicken weighted 6 pounds instead of 3-4 pounds, and that seemed to be too much because the chicken was falling apart. But I did manage to salvage enough intact breast meat for my meal. I think I'll roast the turkey breast on Sunday using the recipe I got in a cooking class last week. And perhaps I'll save the chicken and turkey carcases and make stocks in the IP. I've never done that but SLT swears by it.

zazzles I'm glad you had a better experience in your Walmart.I see yours is a neighborhood grocery.I would trade our super WM for a neighborhood I do believe. However HEB was a breeze to get in and out of this morning. I did go to one Black Friday sale and that was at Bealls. They had really good sales but I only bought one item and may end up taking it back because of the fit but I may see if my back will get better and see if it feels better. Tomorrow we will either brave Bastrop for shopping or do small business Saturday in Elgin.
