The Paprika app is on sale for 40-50% off depending on the platform. It is a recipe manager that lets you grab recipes off the internet, create shopping lists and do menu planning. I first heard about it from zazzles

Thank you. I had done a trial of it awhile back and liked it but hadn't decided whether to buy it. I've now bought. Note that this sale is apparently through the end of this month. Also if you buy the Windows you will get the new Windows version free when it come out early next year.

Hmm. Apparently there is an iOS app that is $2.99. Is that worth getting? I imagine I would mostly get recipes while on my desktop but I wonder if it would be helpful to get the app so I could look up recipes on my phone while in the kitchen. Has anyone used the app?

I had also tried it out but I have very short arms when it comes to paying for apps. I thought, since I can't use the shopping list to its true extent, I would just use the recipe builder that is in mfp. I di like it though.

Kitty, I've had it on my laptop for awhile, but i downloaded the IOS version yesterday. I like having the recipes with me when I'm shopping, since I'm not much of a planner. It synced as soon as I logged in my phone. I also prefer to use my phone in the kitchen rather than the laptop. I've been using Pepperplate for years, but I lost access to the email address tied to it (it was an ancient email tied to a platform that probably no longer exists) and I am unable to log-in to it on my computer. I can still get to the recipes on my phone, so I am attempting to move my favorites over to Paprika. (Which is way better than Pepperplate anyway.)

Definitely. In addition to what itsrad said, the apps sync over the Internet through iCloud or Dropbox. When I decide which recipes I'm making for the week, I use the shopping list feature on the desktop to create a shopping list, then I use the iOS version on my iPhone to view the shopping list and check off items as I go through the store. It greatly simplifies planning and shopping.
