WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Just table tennis today.
At my friend’s suggestion, I went to the Urgent Care today. So glad I did, He diagnosed it as either a muscle sprain or tendonitis. Tendonitis sounds right cuz he pressed two or three spots and I almost went thru the roof. He put me on a pack of prednisone for six days reducing daily from 6 to 1 tablets. He told me to cut out all activity including table tennis and line dancing for two weeks. I’ll have to think about that. I’ll see how I’m feeling by Monday evening. I really hate to cancel line dancing. I’d much rather it be tendonitis than arthritis, so I’m a happy camper. I’m keeping my appointment with the orthopedist in case the problem is not solved by then. I can always cancel a day or two in advance.
Jan – Another strong day for you. Yeah!!
Kathy – I cracked up thinking of you watching the exercise video in the tub. That’s got to be a first <g>. Kudos on Day 6. Warms my heart!
Lori – You’re making me jealous. AC used to be a weekly part of our lives. So very wise to pack up half of the meal in advance. Do you keep it in the fridge in your room until taking it home? Casino hopping sounds like fun. We used to do that too.
Another month hits the dust!

C39. D7!!! OP. Tracking. NO exercise - again. Family trip to DS's Basketball tournament, so I will prioritize getting in steps and maybe even getting in a run on the treadmill.
We will be eating meals at cafes and school consignment stands on Friday and Saturday. So I have to be mindful of choices and portions. Should be fine if I can avoid the sugary stuff.
Nancy - glad you went to urgent care and got some treatment. Now ... you have to decide if you take better care of yourself by the rest or some activity. I've gone against doctors orders for complete rest in the past and not regretted it. I had sciatica when pregnant with my twins and the doctor ORDERED me to get complete rest. When it got so bad that I had to use a cane to walk, I said "this is ridiculous" and started doing slow indoors walking at the JCC and I got better!
Lori - sounds lovely in AC!! Great job with putting away 1/2 the meal at the start. And that is a great WW meal with low points to start with!
Jan - hope all is well!
Louise - so glad you are still skating away :-)
All ~ have a great day. I'll try to check in remotely.
Kathy

TGIF! I pushed my alarm back 35 minutes, so I don’t have time to post much. Strong day yesterday, even though I was on the go all day. Today will be more of the same.
Kathy, it’s a wrestling tournament for us this weekend. I plan to pack healthy stuff-there’s nothing worth the points at the concession stand!
Lori, thebettyrocker.com also has great exercises videos. Enjoy AC!
Nancy, my bet is that you’ll feel significantly better by Monday night. Prednisone is a miracle drug IMO.

Happy Friday! Having an awesome get away. Yesterday, we walked Ocean City boardwalk. It was a beautiful day, windy but full sun! Plus we casino hoped to see decorations. By far, the Tropicana (our hotel) is the most festive. They even have a light, sound show, every hour (10 min long) in there indoor quarters plus they make it snow - absolutely beautiful! Our step count for yesterday was over 26,000 steps! Food went as planned.
Nancy, so glad you went to urgent care and glad it treatable. Hope you get fast relief. Take it slow and listen to your body. I was always told slow walking is better than sitting all day. Kathy, staying away from the sugar, will be Hugh with helping you stay on track. If you can bring health choices even better. Enjoy the tournament! Jan, I really appreciate your video suggestions, looking forward to checking them out! Open to all suggestions!
Today will be 3 1/2 hr car ride home... Have a great Friday everyone! Lori
