Hubby and I took our daughter's suggestion (push) to get flu shots. Neither of us have had them before but since hubby was so ill this year and is now 80 and plans to give training courses thought it was best to get him one for sure then thought about myself and at 66 almost 67 I decided, "Why not?"
The house is getting cleaner and though there is much to go through things are looking up. As soon as the area in the basement is cleared we will mop floors, reorganize and move on to something else. I really want to set up the art and craft things and go through the rest of the books. I also want to go through kitchen and bedroom things and linens so we will be ready for summer going-through when it arrives. I am loving sitting in rooms that hubby had stuff piled up high in the past few years
Welcome back CHERRY! If going to Florida was to get away from the cold and spend time at the beach...perhaps later in the year is a better time to go? Hope you had fun anyway!
Lynn, I had my daughter take the photos of the house as she has a better eye and perhaps a better camera. It does look nice and is comfortable when clean and decluttered!
I have never heard of jacking up a house, Beverly! Yikes! Houses to require upkeep and that can be costly. We need to have windows fixed, should get new curtains, plumbing needs to be looked at and fixed...the list goes on and on and on!
Pam, Hope all is well with you and your family!

Good morning friends!!
So glad that everyone is home safe!!
Cathy, the "jacking up" of the house is due to foundation problems, seems that after a period of years, the earth under the house "settles", which causes the foundation to crack, leading to the brick wall on the outside of the house to crack. Wish I could show you guys the picture of the huge crack that had come in the brick wall, this in turn, had caused cracks to come inside the house in the dry wall. I think we have 5 or 6 cracks inside over doors, etc. Seems the only way to fix it is to "jack up" the foundation. It is a fairly common problem in this part of the country, as our soil is mostly clay. Now, we can get the cracks inside patched & walls freshly painted. Hopefully it won't happen again. Maybe it will be another 50 yrs. LOL.
Hope everyone has a great day & a great new month of Dec.

Hello all!
I am doing mostly house chores today. I have laundry going and I am putting away serving dishes from Thanksgiving. I do want to do some decorating today.
We had to wait hours at the social security office, but everything was worked out. My payments start next month. I really never thought this day would come.
Have a great day, my friends!

I was planning on going into town this afternoon for Mass and some groceries, but there was freezing rain last night and this morning and the roads are icy. It doesn't sound like it will get warm enough for any of it to melt before morning, so I doubt I'll be going then either. I don't do icy roads any more.
Maybe I'll bring up some Christmas decorations and put them up either this afternoon or tomorrow. Today I've been catching up on mail and other little things around the house.
My new water heater went out while I was gone and now refuses to light. I got it going for awhile yesterday so I still do have some hot water and was able to take a quick shower this morning. There seems to be a firm rule that these things can not happen any time other than a weekend.

What a wonderful evening spent last night at the botanical gardens light display. It snowed a bit which made it beautiful. We have had a relaxing day today and I’ve been running errands. Tonight I will relax. Have a good evening beaches.
