This is a conservative thread to allow those with conservative views to express themselves. We welcome Republicans, Tea Party folks, and those who believe in the Constitution as written, not as interpreted by liberal judges. If you have liberal views we invite you to participate in a civil and respectful conversation. We would respectfully request that if you cannot post in a respectful and civil manner to refrain from doing so until you can. Good discussions are great - insulting arguments are not. We welcome discussions about our weight loss journey.
Remember if you can't say something nice about someone then don't day anything at all.

DS was telling me this morning about one of the schools that he goes to in our area. That when a class was on a field trip a bully injured another child so badly that he wound up in ICU. Apparently the mother of the injured child was so upset that the school didn't do anything about it that they are going to have an independent investigation. The bully has not been suspended that I know of. My DGS does not go to school in that school district. I think I would be really mad in a situation like that.

Just dropping by to say farewell to G.H.W. Bush, and salute a member of the Greatest Generation. As with Barbara, we can all agree he was a wonderful American and human being.

Meg, there is a web site , think it’s stopbuting .gov that has pretty strict guidelines for what bullying is and legal guidelines. It’s very much an eye opener. Much is considered bulllying that would never have fallen into that Category years ago

I admired President and Barbara Bush, they were a wonderful couple. It is sad to see the greatest generation fade away. President George H W Bush was an honorable man and a great example of that generation. May he rest in peace with Barbara and Robin.

Ginny, DS mentioned that there a was something on Fox News about this bullying incident. It's pretty bad when a child ends up in ICU. My DGS was bullied for awhile but the school put a stop to it and it is much easier for him at school now.

Well obviously I cannot spell. Will check out the web site Which is stop bullying.gov. Glad that the incident made national news. More attention needs to be given to bullying. Schools are now sensitive to it or should be.
Still watching the funeral coverage. It’s been a long week for the family.

Ginny, I did check out the web site you posted and there is certainly a lot of information about bullying. I didn't read a lot of it but I will when I have more time to browse. I think as adults have become more uncivil to each other children will do likewise.
Iani, I hope all is well with you. President Bush was a wonderful man and we can all learn much from how he lived his life.
