Cat, that is a beautiful photo! Lucy, so sorry about the niece's husband. How tragic for it to happen at all, but at Christmas! Oh, my! Also sorry your daughter is having to have her pup put to sleep. That's a difficult thing at this time of year too! Peggy, how are you holding up? Your DH will be able to do his normal things before too long! Just keep going slowly; you'll make it! Doris, so sorry your crew has been attacked by the flu bug! I know Hannah would have performed the song beautifully! I'm wondering about a Christmas program as well. Don't know if they will make it up or not. Phyl, have a good time at your little Christmas get together! Bettyj, hope you get to attend your family party! It's always best to stay safe though. Linda, how did they overcharge you $75?! Sure hope you locate that receipt!
DH became stir crazy early and has gone to the grocery store and to the barn to get our Christmas tree and decorations. I have the buckeye mixture out getting a little softer so I can work with it. I looked on allrecipes.com for ideas about dipping chocolate. The video I watched melted the chocolate chips along with two tablespoons of vegetable shortening (Crisco-like) for shine.
DD and DSIL are still waiting for the tow truck. When they emptied out DSIL's car, DGD's lego Titanic was in it -- she had used it in her presentation at school yesterday morning. DD says there must be some irony in that! LOL!

The wind got out of the North-West a while ago and the temp is dropping fast. I had the kitchen door open while I prepared for the freeze. Now the heater is on. From 60 to 49 in such a short time. I loaded some things in the truck for the trip to Son's. Bearly got nervous when he saw his crate go in. I covered the window unit for this part of the house with plastic and duct tape and covered the inside. Betty's stuff is off the back porch and in the kitchen. A drop light is in the washer. I could not turn the water off to it. Where does our strength go?
DD put up a video of her dog. We will all miss him.
My niece who is camping put up a picture of a camper cake she made.
The niece whose husband died was killed in a wreck on his way home. They live down in east TX not too far from my son.

Ugh! Now I remember why I don't make buckeyes! The rolling of the center filling is so tedious.
DD sent a text that she is getting migraine. It's no wonder! They still haven't towed DSIL's car.

Hi again,
Just got home took about 50 minutes to go to Bed Bath and return not bad considering the weather, just hit one icy patch. Lots of cars either ran off the road or got stuck and are shoveling themselves out. So glad I can put my car into manual and back to automatic easily, just forget I have that capability. Got the credit taken care of, it was a $111.70 difference after all the discounts and tax done. Now that's worth going out in this weather for. Molly, apparently the model number did not match what was in the computer, but everything else did. The store manager didn't see any difference except for the model number. Other than that everything was the same. I wonder how many other people had the same problem. The razor was originally $279.99, the discount was $140 bringing it down to $139.99, then I had a 20% discount. Oh well it's done.
Lucy, how sad about the way your niece's husband passed.
Peggy, I hope you have that electronic leash (cell phone) on your DH. Are you taking care of yourself?
Phyl, enjoy your Christmas with family.
And Betty, you do the same, just be careful.
Molly, glad DH is moving around, just make sure he doesn't overdo it. We all know about men. ) Oh and will you stop talking about your Buckeye's and get them made so we can all have some.
Be safe everyone and stay warm if that's your thing, or at least comfortable. Need to get the dishes done and start my wrapping, or maybe the other way around, who knows. Will do a pot of potatoes soup, yes again.
Linda

I had a busy day yesterday - Storytelling group in the morning, 2 bank visits in the afternoon, and Card Fun in the evening. Planned a relaxing day today since they are predicting snow starting this afternoon and bitterly cold tomorrow (high of 3 degrees). My plan was to get the Christmas cards out. All addressed, just need the Christmas letter. It's written, but when I went to print it, my printer printed 3 and ran out of ink. Guess they will go out on Monday (unless my daughter takes pity on me and brings some down to me). Everybody stay warm and healthy.

I think I forgot to share the update on Trace. Praying for Trace 4 hrs ยท Iowa Park ยท
Well it's not the gallbladder, which we were hoping it would be so we could pinpoint the pain, and this would be an easy fix. Trace started immunoglobulin therapy on Thursday, he will do it once a day for a week and then twice a day starting next week. We were told it could take several days to see if it was going to work, if it worked at all. Well I am happy to report he woke up this morning without pain, he says it's only pressure today (which literally makes me tear up) because he has been suffering with this non-stop pain for 9 weeks. Yesterday the doctor called and said there is one other med we can start if this doesn't work but that requires a full cardiac workup and another trip to Cook's. We are hoping to not have to go back till our scheduled appointment in 2 weeks. Thank you for your prayers, please pray this continues to work...........
Brrrrrrr! It is 42 now. So not looking forward to the next couple of days and teens at night. 12 for Monday morning. I think this is to be the coldest since March 2014.
I have stuff out to wrap gifts but as usual I procrastinate.

good afternoon.
Brrr. I think it is cold everywhere. DGS2 and DGD3 had their karate awards ceremony today, and we went to watch them get their new degrees. Avery is so pleased to have a yellow belt, but isn't very fond of the gi. It is brand new, so a bit itchy, I think, and she also will grow into it. Her mother just picked her up and I took my shower and came here.
Sorry MJ is sick but glad Rachael is feeling better. Our family is all sniffling, but so far only DS has real flu symptoms. Sigh...
Cat, can you keep canned soup in your apt and fix it on these cold days? I would not like cold lunches in cold weather.
Love the picture of the house in the snow. Could be a Christmas card.
Cat, your home is lovely in that photo.
Have a wonderful evening, everyone.
Diane

Good night all. Stay warm.
Diane, there is a small kitchenette in each apartment. Who could live without a microwave?

Oh my goodness. 25 now. To think I got up this morning to 60 degrees. Windy, windy.
Goodnight all. Son told me to leave a faucet dripping since the wind is so high. Guess I will heed his advice.

Good evening, Well at least I got here before Kathie, if I type fast. ") We had a very cold day, about 26* this morning and never got out of the 40s all day. Still have Trace in my prayers too. So very sorry he's going through this. Doug is doing a little better each day, doing a bit more activities now. Goes in for his post-op on Mon. Shouldn't take long. If he's feeling good afterward, we have a few errands to take care of. Don't know what 'buckeyes' are, but don't think I'll ever make any...sound like to much work. ") Linda, hope you find the receipt and get your money back. Good friends came by for a little while and later our DD#1. Nice to see them all. Helped the day go by....we get a bit bored staying in day after day. Winter doesn't help that. Doug doesn't feel like going anywhere yet, but feels better each day. Cat, love all your pics...your place is lovely. Mollyann, so sorry your kids didn't get the car back yet...hope it's soon. Lucy, so sorry for the loss of your DNiece's DH....so darn sad and worse this time of year. My Grandpa died on Christmas Day...it was hard for my Mom to enjoy Christmas for a few years. Prayers for your DNiece. Have a bit of a headache, must be time to relax for awhile before bedtime. Hope you all have a good night. Sweet Dreams. Jingle Bells Pat

Our neighbors a few years back had a yorkie.. cutest little thing.. It went outside alone once and a hawk came down and grabbed it.. took it high up in the air, like telephone pole high and lost it's grip... The yorkie fell to the ground breaking its little back.. good ending though, after a couple of surgeries the little yorkie is running around, but just a little more wary of going outside now.
Wonder where Kathie is .. hope she's not having trouble with the site. I've not had any problems with it so far.. Haven't worked on putting pictures in yet though. Today I finally went Christmas shopping.. thought the stores were going to be more crowded than they were.. it wasn't really too bad. I got everything except for three people and for hubby. Hard to buy for my hubby because whenever he wants something he buys it. .. Just never know what to get.
Lots of sad stories here today.. I'm so sorry for everyone that's hurting both emotionally and physically.. This is a tough time of year for some and with accidents etc it's made tough for even more. My prayers are with all of you.
Try and stay warm... sleep well.
Jenny
