WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

TGIF! I got another plate of cookies yesterday. I remembered from last year how good they were—this lady can bake. I had 1 piece of pumpkin roll and a tiny bite of a cookie. I isolated it, along with a few pieces of dried fruit. 18 APs yesterday and 8 non-Core points. This is unheard of!
Nancy, I use the elderberry for sore throat relief. It works better than anything I’ve tried, especially the spray. So glad you’re feeling better.
Lori, chocolate covered pecans sound delicious and hard to pass up. Do they have to sit right next to your desk?!

Yes, TGIF!! Wow, this week was a blur - busy every night. Right after work today, heading to my Mom's. Going to see my 6 yr old niece in her Christmas show, staying overnight, shopping and lunch with Mom tomorrow - then heading home to decorate tree, make cookies and food prep for next week....Another very busy week ahead- tis the season!!
Nancy, so glad to hear your starting to feel better.....regarding Cuisinart, I called Kohls and was told that since we have the receipt and original box, DH can bring it back and do an exchange for a new one. I explained it he purchased it over a year ago and that it stopped working and they said no problem (keeping fingers crossed that when he actually goes today, it goes smoothly).....
Jan, love the FB pictures of DS, so handsome! Awesome job with the Christmas goodies (especially, with the ones you know are good)!! Unfortunately, the open kitchen is right next to my desk and there is no were else to put them (I try to push them on everyone that comes in)....I'm planning to be very picky and if I want something, I will take it home and have it at the end of the night....don't want to battle cravings all day... Next week will be a hugh challenge - Tuesday is Christmas Dinner party, Wednesday - Get-together after work and Thursday - Office Luncheon....oh boy.... Unfortunately, with being busy every night my activity level is much lower....so I have to be good!!
Have a great day! Lori

Jan - Amazingly low number or core points. Almost simply filling. It's awesome that you can surround the few treats with healthy foods. Lori used to call it yellow surrounded by green. Keep it up and you'll be home free for the holidays.
Lori - Great idea to deal with Kohl's instead of Cuisinart. The stores are obviously more accommodating than the manufacturer. I probably could have done the same thing with Bed Bath and Beyond. Perfect solution to bring each worthwhile treat home. We're all getting so smart, I can't stand it <g>.

Lori, very smart to go through Kohl’s instead of Cuisinart. They’re very liberal with their return policy. We once took back a Dyson that was 10 months old.
Nancy, we are getting smart, aren’t we? Today I’m relaxing my eating, but not going overboard. This will put me OP 16/18 days since I started my holiday challenge. Not too bad.

Jan - I saw the photos too - good looking kid. Jackson is the middle one, right? If my weigh in is decent tomorrow, I'm thinking of going back to just points without counting calories next week. I'd like to do 19 daily without touching my rollovers or weeklies.

Yes, we are getting so smart!! My plans were changed - Staying home, which I’m very happy about. On the way home, I stopped at a few of my DH’s favorite eateries to get gift certificates. The last one is a famous hot dog place that has the best French fries. I ordered fries for myself (I had the points). I had 3 fries and threw the rest away (something I never did before). They weren’t hot and crispy, like normal - Just decided they weren’t worth it...Hugh NSV!
Kohls exchanged the airfryer, no problem!
Jan, nice plan to enjoy the Holidays and still stay in control. Nancy, good plan to switch thing ups a little.
