From magazine article:
Winter mood lifters (1-3 of 10)
1. Veg out - plant based foods, fruits and vegetables help boost good gut bacteria which can help regulate mood. Doesn't have to be fresh, try frozen. (what kinds of fruits and vegetables to you choose fresh? What about frozen/)
2. Employ flower power - people who woke up to flowers reported a better mood. Try yellow blooms, associated with sunshine, energy. (Do you buy/keep vases of flowers in your house?)
3. Make a photo album - positive memories enhance happiness. Sort through photos and assemble the happy ones in an album you can flip through again and again. (do you make physical albums of printed photos?)
Any other thoughts or ideas on these topics?

1. I choose a variety of both fresh and frozen vegetables and fruits. Lettuce and other greens are fresh. Sometimes I get fresh green beans and sugar snap peas but I also have frozen green beans, and other vegetables such as broccoli, peas and mixed vegetables Fruits I choose mostly fresh, but I also keep frozen berries on hand. I very seldom use canned vegetables and fruits, exceptions being canned dried beans, tomatoes, pineapple, and a few cans of corn.
2. I used to get flowers for myself, but now I don't have any place to put them where my cat won't knock them down. I do have some artificial flowers in vases.
3. I have a lot of printed photos, but never did get around to putting them in an album nor even organizing them. Now my pictures are digital and on my computer. I am going to get a backup storage system for them so nothing gets lost if my computer crashes.

I love both fruits & veggies, I buy them both frozen & fresh. Right now, I am without a refrigerator (waiting for the new one to be delivered the first of the week). It is a real pain, especially here at the holidays. Anyway, my fresh foods are way down. Can't wait to re-stock. We do have a large up-right freezer & a small fridge in the den, so we are making do.
I love flowers, sometimes, I will just buy them for myself in the super market.
I have lots of printed photos, I seldom look at them, because most all of my loved ones are now deceased, it makes me feel sad to look at the pictures of them.

Good morning ladies.
I don't buy many canned veggies. Like none. I grew up eating those mushy peas from cans and now either buy either fresh or frozen. Most fruits fresh, but I buy canned pineapple. Some frozen fruits for smoothies.
When I was at goal, I would buy myself a bunch of fresh flowers each month as a reward for being at goal. Right now it is Christmas cactus, amarillys and poinsettias brightening up my house.
Most of my photos are physicial. I do like looking at them but need to work on getting them finished. All the pics from our cruise last year are on CD.
Bev, no fridge ? crikey, it was hard enough in the summer a few years ago when my fridge quit. Luckily, it was between food pantry distributions, so I used those fridges for a few days until the new one got delivered.

I rely on frozen veggies, especially broccoli and green beans. I try to keep fresh carrots, celery, and sugar snaps on hand. Right now Iβm focusing on grapes, bananas, and apples in terms of fruit.
I love fresh flowers and right now have a vase of roses in the kitchen. I love the idea of yellow flowers that elicit energy and brightness.

1. Vegetables and fruit: Fresh vegetables & fruit I like and buy regularly - carrots, snap peas, cabbage and broccoli slaw. Depends on season - grapes, apples, clementines, bananas. I keep quite a few frozen vegetables on hand - peas, broccoli, corn come to mind right away. I actually like canned green beans better than frozen, I look for low sodium. Fruit - I don't us a lot of canned or frozen fruit, but in summer, I buy a frozen fruit mix at Sam's Club for smoothies.
2. Flowers - I have green houseplants, but not blooming houseplants. I like growing flowering plants outdoors in summer.
3. Pictures - I haven't printed pictures for quite a few years. I used to print and keep them in scrapbooks - I liked creating the pages and looking at them. I think this is another thing I'd like to get back to doing.

We have a lot of trees to provide produce. At the moment citrus and avocados are in season. Buy others from the market

3. Make a photo album - positive memories enhance happiness. Sort through photos and assemble the happy ones in an album you can flip through again and again. (do you make physical albums of printed photos?) I have most photos in albums now but forget to look at them...
