WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Good morning. All in all, I’m very happy with my eating yesterday. I had 1 cookie, a bite of another, and a few tastes of dough. I also had a few chocolate covered strawberries, and a piece of white chocolate covered pineapple. My brother and his family sent a basket from Edible Arrangements. I made a nice salad for lunch (forgot about my salad from P.F. Chang’s), and had split pea soup for dinner.
Nancy, I hope Edesia is doing well. I miss her. I’m reading “Before We Were Yours”. It was something I requested from the library months ago. Two other books also came in at the same time. There’s no way I’ll get them all read before the loans expire, and you can’t renew with ebooks. Ah well. I’ll just request what I don’t read again.

Having a great time with DS and GF...lots of laughs and Hugs!!! Last night they wanted to go to their favorite pizza/ Italian restaurant. They ordered garlic bread, pizza w/ sausage and chicken parm dinner to share. Dinner came with one salad so I had that instead of the bread - one slice of pizza and a taste of the chicken parm. Back at the house, the cookies came out. I passed on my cookies and had one that GF brought. We shall see where they want to go tonight. Rest of the day will be as green as possible!
Nancy, I agree, Boston Market the culprit for the scale...so nice that you connected with Edesia and to hear she’s doing well! Jan, what a great gift from your brother and his family! They look amazing!! You did great yesterday!!
Hi to everyone! Lori

Circled the mall twice with my friend today. First time since recent issues. We're going to do it again tomorrow. One jewelry store was busy with customers and had a line of about 20 people waiting to get in. Crazy! They must have been giving something away.
Jan - I read Before we were Yours - so many books lately about people surviving unbearable upbringings and yet needing to return home where it all happened. You were right about the sodium. I was down the full two pounds this morning. When my DGK was in the hospital years ago, I sent her a mug full of those chocolate covered strawberries from Edible Arrangements, or maybe it was Incredible Edibles. Anyway she loved them.
Lori - How nice that you get to enjoy this quality time with DS and GF - and it sounds as if you're remaining under control. Hang tough!!

Nancy, I bet the mall was packed! Pandora takes names this time of year, and there is usually a line stringing out into the mall. I figured it was the sodium, and I’m happy I was right.
Lori, fun times with your son and his gf for sure.
Dave and I went to an outdoor mall this afternoon to look at the window displays, and had dinner an upscale pizza place. I wanted ice cream after. Nancy, are you familiar with Graeter’s? It’s out of Columbus. I was disappointed they didn’t have peppermint stick, but the s’mores didn’t disappoint.
I exchanged gifts with Nick’s new gf tonight. Very sweet, and I certainly didn’t expect anything from her. A fuzzy dog blanket, and a beautiful opal bracelet and earring set. She’s so good for him. I’m relieved, after how bad his last gf was for him.
