True success rarely happens overnight.
Here are some healthy tips from Eating Well magazine:
1. Take a 25 minute music break.
2. Get up every 30 minutes and move around.
3. Whip up some home cooking.
4. Eat more fruits and veggies.
5. Eat more bananas.
6. Eat more legumes.
These are ideas for a healthy heart, but seems to me they would also work for weight management.
Ideas? Comments?
FUN: Do you have any wallpaper in your home? Do you like it?

4. Eat more fruits and veggies. working on this
5. Eat more bananas. Hubby buys them but I don't eat them...think it has to do with fruits having high points in the past?
6. Eat more legumes. Doing this veganuary challenge I have beans every day
weirdest thing in my purse - swiss army knife - gift from my brother long ago and it has come in handyFUN: Do you have any wallpaper in your home? Do you like it? no wallpaper anywhere in the house...pretty basic off-white everywhere

Good list - I like that they are basic, easy to implement ideas.
I can always use a reminder to eat more fruits and vegetables. There's a saying I've heard often that "if you are not hungry enough to eat an apple, you are not hungry" (or something along those lines). Anyway, using that idea as a reminder for snacks or those hungry feelings - choose a vegetable or a fruit.
Legumes - I'd like to add more to my meals.
Wallpaper - yes - one one wall - probably about a 10 foot space, a wall that transitions from the hallway to the kitchen. It's very plain, more of a texture than a pattern.

I often have music going for background sound, and occasionally get up and dance. I'm working on getting up and moving every 30 to 45 minutes.
As far as eating goes, I try to stick to the basics with emphasis on fruits and vegetables.
I don't have wallpaper in the house I live in now, but I used to in a different house. I'd rather have painted walls. In my house now I have an emphasis wall in each room that is painted a different color. The basic walls are a cream color.

I should listen to more music. Sometimes I do when I am alone, but that is seldom, unless I am in the car.
I love beans of all kinds & have been trying to use more of them.
I love all fruits & veggies, I eat a banana almost every day.
FUN: My living room is wallpapered. So is my hall, I don't like it, I would love to take it down, but it is so difficult to do that. I will probably end up re-papering the living room. It is a large room with high ceilings, I can't imagine what else to do with it. We are having the dinning room, spare bedroom & bathroom painted next week. I have just picked a very light beige for the walls & white trim & ceilings.

1. Take a 25 minute music break. That is hard to do during the work day, but I always take my IPod outside with me when I am working in the yard/garden. On the weekends, I will turn my tv to a music station.
2. Get up every 30 minutes and move around. I have my fitbit to remind me every hour to get up and move. (it wants you to get 250 steps every hour). Not always possible, but I try.
3. Whip up some home cooking. I think I have overdone this one. I currently have the remainders of a turkey breast roast, a ham and some homemade chicken salad in my fridge to use up. Crikey, anyone want to come to dinner ?
4. Eat more fruits and veggies. Stopping at the store on my lunch hour to get some tomatoes, and bananas and ?
5. Eat more bananas. Had one for breakfast. I usually buy 3-4 in various stages of ripeness so that last a few days.
6. Eat more legumes. I plan on using the ham bone for some bean soup this weekend.
FUN: Do you have any wallpaper in your home? Do you like it? I have a wallpapered accent wall in my kitchen. I also have textured wallpaper in my hallway. I would love to redo the hallway with fresh paper, but haven't been able to find exactly what I want. I hung it probably 20+ years ago and it is starting to come off. I guess I could just paint it, but I like the texture.

Sound like good ideas. We always have fresh fruit available. Iām working to have veggies available as well.
I need to work on taking exercise breaks as well as music breaks. I have never thought of music breaks.
Thanks for a great week Beverly.
