QOTD:
How do you take care of yourself?
When do you take care of yourself?
AOTD:
I set an appt to have my hair cut and colored every 6 or 7 weeks. I can always tell when it’s time and I love the way my hair looks.
Other ways I care for myself are mani’s and pedi’s. My mani’s I schedule every 3 or 4 weeks. The pedi’s are every 3 months or so.
I love fresh flowers and periodically my dh buys me roses. I’ve also been known to buy some flowers for myself.

I don't do a lot of this.
*I suppose that having hair short instead of long means I get it done more often but usually go about five to six weeks after the last cut IF the car is available for me to drive
*soak in the tub during winter. Read a book while in the tub. Moisturize body afterward...started using lotion on my body regularly recently and do see a difference in my skin
*There is the Veganuary thing right now and soon there will be additional exercise...once the knee recuperates.

It's not always possible, but I do my best to allow time for myself - to do things that help me rejuvenate. Things like reading, crafts, even necessary chores of life, but not needing to rush because I've allowed time to accomplish them.

I do pamper myself. Sometimes, I think I spend too much on clothes, etc. I love a good clearance rack!! I often go overboard & buy things that I don't need. Guess it's a hold over from my poor beginnings. I get mani-pedis on a regular basis. I pretty much get everything that I want. I guess I am pretty spoiled, but on the other hand, I feel that I deserve it.

I don't really do anything special but I do spend some time reading and do a bit of shopping for myself sometimes. Other than that sometimes I just take a day and don't do anything, not even housework unless absolutely necessary.

I get sufficient amounts of sleep (okay, most of the time) and when I don’t, I’m perfectly willing to take a nap (maybe not on the same day, but within a few days). I do my own fingernails (although not my toes any longer) and color my hair myself (shortly after getting it cut professionally, about every 6 or 7 weeks; mine is short too). I keep wanting to go for another pedicure, but don’t want to pay for the spa pedicures; it’s getting more and more difficult to find a salon reasonably priced to do the old fashioned pedicure (where only your feet are immersed in a tub of warm water and you’re sitting in a normal or swivel chair without “massage fingers” running up and down your back).
I’m interested to learn about your moisturizing routine, Cathy… We have a bathtub in DH’s bathroom; my bathroom has a stall shower (and the downstairs bathroom has only the toilet and sink). Neither DH nor I like sharing a bathroom and since he takes a bath every day and I take a shower every day, it worked out to split the two bathrooms the way we did. I can take a bath if I want to, but frankly, if I don’t schedule one immediately after the housekeeper cleans the tub, it means I have to clean the tub before I’m willing to get into it (DH rinses it out, but NEVER cleanses it). My DDIL makes soaps and recently ventured into making what they’re calling “bath bombs” too (they fizz when you put them into the bath). She sent me a few samples which I haven’t tried yet…

I just noticed that I had never finished posting. I am pretty good at buying myself flowers when needed. Trader Joe's has a wonderful selection. With this knee problem, I have having to give up (temporarily or permanently ?) Zumba classes. That has been my main exercise 2-3 times a week. Will have to figure out something else that is not so hard on my knee. Maybe even walking on the treadmill ?
I color my own hair also, usually right after getting it cut. I have colored it for so long, that to me, this IS my natural color.

jan , Since I dye my hair purple (or blue, or a combination of the two), I can't think it's my natural color... (Okay, the gray that shows through apparently IS natural, but my actual natural color is still more brown than gray...)
