TOOT! TOOOOT! CHUG CHUG, CHUG! Here comes the Train to Thinsville down the track and into your station, so hop on board and enjoy the ride.
This morning it was 28º (feels like 19º) and going up to 29º and cloudy with winds ENE 10-15 mph.
The girls will be in school again today, but I don’t think there are any other special plans.
The squirrels have been busy up and down the big tree right outside our kitchen window and its fun to watch them. They run up and down and around and around the big trunk of the tree chasing each other and have managed to get most of the snow off the branches in the tree. It is still cold out there, but those 3 little critters seem to be having fun in the snow.
I’m still reading Bone to Be Wild, another Sarah Booth Delaney Mystery by Carolyn Haines. The more I read of it the more I’m sure I’ve read it before but it must have been a long time ago. As I read it sounds very familiar, but I still don’t remember how it ends. I have three more chapters and I’ll be done with this book.

Good morning!
Our temps will be 43º to 52º today, and even warmer tomorrow, before they fall a lot this weekend. We'll see. Today I have to have my eyes checked, so we will leave for that appointment in about 20 minutes. When I get back, it could take several hours before my eyes return to normal. My eyes dilate easily and stay dilated a long time.
I think DD will talk to the counselor about an appointment with her this Friday. It is a staff development day, and she'll have some travelling time allowed. I think all she'll have to do is sign some papers, since John has already been seen by the counselor. I just hope this works. His stress and anxiety when he cannot do what he has to do in class has made him literally sick. I hadn't thought about it, but it does sound a lot like Rachael. I wish he could go to a school like hers.
This evening I will cook dinner for DD's family, and I'm trying chicken fried steaks, that are actually baked. I hope they will be good.
Doris, squirrels are such clowns! Have you seen the Geico commercial featuring them? Funny!
Be happy today! Diane

Good morning Doris & ATF,
Cloudy today and currently 31; the high will be 40.
Woke up to some bad news. One of Ed's long time friends killed himself this morning about 4am. Ed is devastated, he has known him since his ice hockey days as a teenager. He was also his lieutenant at one time in the police department. He was retired from the police department. Ed is with his wife now. I'm waiting to hear from him.
I'm sort of in limbo, just in shock I guess. Please remember him, his wife & daughter & my son Ed in your prayers.
Have a great day!

Diane,
I know what you mean about your eyes staying dilated for a long time - mine do the same thing and it gets annoying after a while. i[
I hope your DD can get an appointment with the counselor for your DGS. Rachael was in a private school and MJ was assured they would take into consideration the problems she was having with headaches and throwing up. That lasted about a month and the teacher said she was faking it, so MJ pulled her out and she loves the public school she is in now.
The dinner of baked chicken fried steak sounds delicious and I hope everyone enjoys it.

Emily,
I'm so sorry Ed received such bad news today, and I'm glad he was able to go and be with his wife and DD to comfort them. My prayers are with the family at this difficult time.

Emily, that is so sad and really sorry. It is really hard on those who loved him.
Yesterday was a busy day, car inspected, grocery store for my long list, and then decided to check on my nail place and got a much needed manicure. no one else in there but a girl interviewing for a job. Her Dad came in to ask a million questions!! about the time I was leaving quite a few high school girls popped in for "fills". I just get gel polish off and a new color put on but takes forever sometimes. Looks good and it lasts for 3 weeks.
When I got home had all those groceries to put away and then was tired out!! Lunch with my friends was fun and my friend was getting her van inspected after mine so she took me back to garage and then I took her home. Her DSIL will deliver the van when they were done with it. Worked out really good.

It was a cloudy day and chilly. Missing the sunshine and it looks like we won't be seeing the big yellow orb for some time. There are other fun things to think about in the winter like watching squirrels.
Today I did not go to the Y as my arm is still sore and everything I do there involves my arm. I got a few extra steps by walking in a couple of stores before checking out. Got some bookwork done with the Haiti "job".
So sorry Emily about Ed's friend.

Helen,
I'm sorry your arm is still sore today - that's no fun. At least you got a bit of exercise walking.
I know what you mean about the weather. It has been cloudy almost every day for a while it seems.
