WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Jan โ According to WW, we shouldnโt be aiming for perfect. Thatโs what Iโm trying in order to avoid on again off again mentality.
Lori โ There are zillions of dumbell videos on utube. It just takes some patience going thru them until you find the right ones.
Cindy โ Surprisingly I went right back to sleep last night. Iโve been freezing portions of the cabbage soup in tupperware containers. That way I get to have one or two a week so it remains special.

Good morning. Not a great day of eating again yesterday, but I did at least stay sweet treat free. Will work to improve today.
Lori, you can also do push-ups on your knees with his hands elevated, ex. kneeling on the landing with your hands on the first or second stair. Standing push-ups on the wall are also good. I have a friend who likes Jessica Smith on YouTube.
Nancy, correct, it doesnโt have to be all or nothing.
Cindy, I always forget about the rowing machine at the gym. Yes, your son will get a good workout on it!

Hi Everyone!! Tonight will be a strength training video!
Nancy, Nice to see another good day behind you!! Yes - there are a lot of choices. It's just a matter of finding the ones I like and making it a habit! Jan, thanks so much for the push up ideas - that should help!! I just looked up Jessica Smith and it does look like videos I would like - thank you for the suggestion! Cindy, a little sprinkle of parm cheese on the soup adds some nice flavor also!
It's so nice to be back to a normal routine and not having all those Challenging holiday events - normal feels good!!

Hi Girlfriends! Lori, thanks for the suggestion. I love parm cheese, will do that for sure. That's another thing my DH hates to smell (g) Won't tell you what he says it smells like to him. Well, I stayed up last night after my nap yesterday in the chair & just about ate everything in the house. No rhymn or reason, no sense to it at all. Then felt guilty as heck this morning. Wished I could have that guilt feeling before I go hog wild on the eating. Back to it today, to try to undo the damage. DH will be able to tell what all I ate of his. Going to town to get a baby gift for shower this weekend. Also, haven't done very good on the treadmill this week. It's weird, but if I miss just 1 day, it seems to throw everything off. Sorry for the rant. Love ya'll, Cindy
