Happy Day All!
HAPPY DANCING FOR PHYL – DOWN .2#. (Read it on Owls). Good for you. Also got two good smiles this morning about you – bundling up to go to the bus for nothing, and going to the Y without a bra.
Emily – I’m so very, very sorry about Ed’s friend. I’m sure Ed is a comfort to his family – at least as much as can be. One of our neighbors, 91 years old, drowned himself two days after the hurricane. Tough on everyone, but particularly those who had to pull him out of the water. Prayers for his family, and you and Ed.
Sue – Your plans for the sunroom sound wonderful. It will be such a good retreat for you and sunlight is always a benefit. Sure wish I had a good Thai restaurant close by.
Mar – glad you made it home safely. Did you have a wonderful time? When does DD go east for the new job?
Sorry I didn’t make it yesterday. Just didn’t. I don’t even remember Tuesday! Yesterday we both had dermatology appointments. Mine was fine – not even any sprays. DH’s was rough, as usual. All those years as a child running around with no shirt or shoes all summer, plus working on the flightline for years in the Air Force is taking its toll. Three biopsies and several big burned off spots. Am sure we’ll have to go back for Moh’s surgeries within the next month – on his shoulder and the top of his ear!
Got on the scale this morning for the first time in a long time and am up 5 pounds from before Christmas. I know exactly what’s causing it – eating too much! Surprise! Of course, I eat when I’m angry, depressed or sad, and there’s been a lot of that lately around here. We still haven’t found anyone to take out the moisture areas. Although, a contractor is coming out today to give an estimate on demolishing and rebuilding the shop and the eaves of the house. Am a little worried because he’s out of El Paso, TX. He’s doing some work for a friend, though, and they like him.
Nothing planned today except trying to find moisture mitigating people. They’re all just booked solid for weeks and weeks. Also have to make a decision on what to do with my 401K funds. Oh! That’s what I did Tuesday – talked to our financial advisor. It’s all just too much to think about and my brain doesn’t like all this work! It just likes to read books and watch mysteries on television!
Guess I’ll start by making breakfast. Hope everyone has a good day – make it one!
Cheers!

Good morning Penny & ATF,
Cloudy and 26 currently; the high for today will be 33. Should see some snow around 10pm.
I'm at DD's house watching Frankie. He had a slight fever thru the night and this morning. Since Ed is using my car, SIL, picked me up on his way home from work. Now he is sleeping and either Ed will pick me up or SIL will drive me home when he goes back to work tonight.
Ed spent most of the morning with his friends wife till her mom came from CT and her brother from Boston. So she isn't alone now. Don't know if the ME released his body yet so not aware of funeral plans.
Never a dull moment around here.
Have a great day!

Morning All!
Penny time to give yourself a little break. Handling the kind of stress you’ve got has to come out somewhere. Unfortunately for you it’s on the scale. My family always reaches for Entemans coffee cakes in times of stress. I’ve seen two or more disappear in short order when dealing with family crises. Just try and be kind to yourself right now. Deep breaths and baby steps…….Sorry DH had a bad visit at the dermatologist yesterday. We’ve got some fair haired people in my family going through the same drill. Being out in the sun used to be so good for us…..
Phyl loved the story about your adventure without the bra. My grandmother lived with us for a few years when she was in her 90s and kind of losing her way. One morning she complained to my mother that she couldn’t find her corset. Mom spent the greater part of an hour looking for it and couldn’t find it either. Turned out grandma went to bed with it under her nightie and there it was all along….. I never wore a corset, but I would think they are uncomfortable enough to make you aware you’re wearing one. BTW, Cheetos are my favorite all time snack food and I never keep them in the house. I know they can’t be good for you, the color and all, but they do taste awfully good!
Started working on my mini flowers yesterday – making daffodils/jonquils with quilling paper and paper punchers. I made about 10 yesterday, gluing them to their tiny stems and haven’t quite decided whether to put them in a bowl for an arrangement on the mini kitchen table or make a row of them for my garden when I switch out the snow for spring. I guess it depends on how long I last under the winter fog, that I’m sure will be coming my way. I need to get to Joann’s before I start any furniture for the living room or bedroom. I need material and stuffing for the chairs, sofa and bed – either fake leather or really small print patterns in fabric. I’ve watched several You Tube videos on making the furniture and I think I can do it. We’ll see.
Marilyn glad you had an enjoyable trip. Did you win any money?
Emily sorry Frankie isn’t feeling well. Don’t get too close, you were sick yourself recently.
Well need to get started. Cousin is coming back tonight and I’ve got some cleaning to do before he arrives- not that he’d notice. By the time he comes home after work, he is so exhausted, all he sees is his bed.
Everyone try to enjoy the day we’ve been given.
Dayle

Phyl, loved the story of the bra!! it was quite a day. Hope your WI is better than you think. I can't have potato chips in the house. I mindlessly eat them while reading A really bad habit and guess I haven't broken that habit ever, just don't buy potato chips and sometimes that is a struggle in the grocery store. Love those things!! My DSIL and I both like the same kind and darn he always has them in house as he carries his lunch and that to him is a staple. When I stay there watching the dog I always tell myself stay out of his potato chips.!! He needs them for lunch!!
Still the forecast for a lot of snow this weekend. DD is going to pick me up on Saturday as the house her Mother in Law is moving into needs a good cleaning. I will be inside warm and toasty while they do the moving. Lot of guys doing that. It is a small house but not sure she got rid of enough stuff to move from big house to this one. Not my worry, just scrub and clean. Not too long ago we were doing that every waking moment in DDs rental property. she got a lovely note the other day from the family that bought her house and they told her how much they were enjoying it. Now that is nice. We did a lot of work in there before putting it up for sale.
See they did plow my road, the ice had gotten slushy and glad they got it off the road before the frigid temps arrive and all the snow.
I did get a gardening catalog the other day, I am not sure why never have ordered from them. but fun to look. Long time before we even think of that.
Bird feeder needs filling again and will do that today. little wrens and some of the finches that stay the winter will be watching!! Had a small wood pecker yesterday that could eat out of it also. Calli's TV !!!

Hello everyone,
We had a good time in Vegas. Mainly visited with our daughter and good friends. Did gamble for about 2 hours and lost $20.00. Ate great foods.
The rain here is unbelievable. We are on day #4. No leaks on roof and landscape is doing fine so far.
Missed WW meeting this morning. I am still in bed watching tv. Loving the rain. Wil get up soon and start my day. Hubby is volunteering this morning and I have the house to myself.
Penny- you have had so much going on its not surprising weight gain is involved I stress eat also. Keeping healthy foods around helps a little.

Connie - I keep a pair of sunglasses in the car in one of the cup holders.
Have an extra pair in the glove box.
Keep another pair in the house next to my purse in case I go in a different car.

second week, back to the Y for Silver sneakers yoga...which does a pretty good job of adapting floor stuff to chair. you still do standing poses, but have chair there for balance if needed. 30 came today, just arriving in the picture.
