WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C94D13, 24 points (so I used yesterday's rollover which is fine), 4 water, K9:45-1
Just the treadmill today, although I did increase my barbells and will do so each time I decrease the K-closed time.
Tomorrow I'm going to have cabbage soup instead of my root beer float at 3-ish.
Louise - Do you go to meetings? I'm guessing no, because you'd be getting help re how to use flex points. You should be able to have plenty of smart-point foods and then supplement them with zeros - fruits, veggies, fish, chicken, corn on the cob, edamame, eggs, salad. Do you plan your day's food in advance? It helps if you put a lot of zeros on your shopping list, so they are always available. I know you can make the program work for you.
Try to stay warm ladies. Spring is right around the corner.........

Good morning. I have a 2 hour gap between my second and third classes today, so I decided I might as well run the track during that time. I think itโs 6ยฐ right now, and even colder with the windchill. Eating yesterday was so-so. I had only grapes up until 1:30. I like to fast a bit on Sundays if I can.
Louise, do you have a smart phone? Thereโs an app called iTrackbites. It has several different WW plans included. Many people who donโt like Freestyle use it to track. The app used to be free, but theyโve added so many updates. I think itโs around $30 for an annual subscription now.
Nancy, good plan to increase your weights when you lower K closed.
Happy Monday. Iโm looking forward to a strong, OP week ๐

Hi BFFs,
Wow, is it cold out there!! Beautiful with the ice on the trees but so cold!! The car said -1 this morning. Kathy and Louise were getting a taste of your weather..lol
Yesterday my meals were all healthy and point friendly I just had too many snacks throughout the day. The good news is - no binge and not high point items, just too much snacking.... DH and I decided we need a 2 night get away so were headed to AC Wednesday!! It's going to be a MFP Monday!! My strength training days will be Tuesday and Friday this week!
Nancy, Not sure if you got the ice like we did - if so, watch for ice patches and stay warm! Cabbage Soup sounds great - nice and warm!! Jan, Be careful running is this weather...I did the treadmill this morning and I'm headed to the gym for indoor walking at lunch time - thinking I might do the Pilates tape tonight (it felt good to be able to do it!) Louise, I felt the same way with the Smartpoints program. I learned it's not the program that's not working it was how I was spending the points. Hope you find a good balance that works for you... Cindy, hope your weekend went well. Wish you could send us some warm weather.....
Have a Great start to the week everyone!! Lori

Jan - We're in negative territory too. My friend and I circled the mall 3 times this morning. Off to the orthopedist this afternoon and then some grocery shopping, scarf and gloves in tow. The indoor track sounds like a perfect solution in this weather.
Lori - I don't worry about snacking when it's healthy and within point guidelines. I just treated myself to 6 cashews for 2 unplanned points. Plan totals 18 so far with the cashews so that works for me. You're killing it with the exercise. AC sounds like fun. Enjoy!!

C39. D3!!! It's been weeks since I saw D3. Exercise. Tracking. OP. These first days back on track I plan on eating 28 pts per day O I don't feel deprived. Today I will be around 26 points.
Bitter cold, winds over 40mph. I have meetings near the the Canadian border tomorrow. Not sure weather will cooperate...
Nancy- thank you for the advise about isolating the potluck. It went well!
Jan- nice to get indoor exercise between classes.
Hi to Lori and Louise

I was shocked and disappointed by the MRI report. Upon looking at the CD he said the stenosis is significant. The written report corroborated his finding "severe spinal canal and subarticular zone stenosis". I have an appointment on Monday with the pain management doctor in the group probably to schedule an epidural. Tomorrow is my stress test. They better not find anything. Wednesday is a lung xray prior to the next pulmonologist visit. This is crazy. "The Golden Years" LOL.
Kathy - So glad the potluck went well and thrilled to see D3. Your weather sounds miserable. Bundle up!!

Hi Ya'll: Nancy, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Well 0 for last week, one day at a time this week. No binges. Today is the first time have gotten out in almost a week. DH and I have had the cough & congesction thing going on big time. Made another pot of the cabbage soup today. Back on my treadmill this week, since energy level was nil last week. Until tommorrow, you all stay warm up there. Wished I could send you some warm weather. It was in the 50's today. Love, Cindy
