WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Good morning. Iโm looking forward to getting through this week, mainly because of the forecasted cold temps. Our school district is closed this morning due to no water.
My day was filled with good, nutritious foods yesterday. I had 2 small cookies last night, but everything else was FIF.
Nancy, I bet you were more than satisfied with those food choices. Even better, you got your 10k steps in.
Kathy, like Nancy, Iโve been working on the all or nothing mentality. Itโs tough to overcome, for sure. I hope you had a good day yesterday.
Lori, hope your weekend was relaxing.

Jan - I don't remember your weather issues being as extreme in the past. Are you breaking record temps this year? It seems core foods are higher calorie wise. I may go back and forth between core and 1200-ish calories, always counting smart points as well. It's kind of interesting. Today's 1224 calories and 19 points include 15 non core points. Tomorrow I'll concentrate on core without paying attention to the calories. I probably should have been a scientist <g> For you FIF / Core have always been the best WTG. The exercise explains it, I think.

c39. D1. Dang - another reset. Did get in 50 minutes of vigorous stationary bike.
Jan - I am fighting the 'all or nothing' mentality. Schools are closed today and making cookies is on the agenda. Good news - I don't like the kinds of cookies my boys are making. Bad news is I love the cookie dough :-) So if I can just get the cookies made without my 'help' I should be fine. And maybe I should include two cookies in my planned points for today and make it an "and" situation. Stay on plan AND have a couple raw cookies. Stay warm and safe!
Nancy - I looked back to find your test results and am relieved they came back normal. Sounds like you are struggling with pain - I hope that gets resolved.
Lori - Hope you are having a nice visit with DM.
I got bad news about my dear sweet auntie who we just found out has cancer. She's an amazing person and this is hard news...
Hi to all who follow!

Hi Gals! Well DH & I are still feeling crappy! It's really going around down here. One of my friends on antibotics, steriods and cough meds. I did lose 2 lbs last week. Not back on the treadmill yet, energy level is 0, just drained. Did make it to store this morning, a had too. Nancy, so glad your test results came back normal. Hopefully, doctor can figure out back pain cure. Don't see how you do all you do, sister! Kathy, so sorry to hear about your aunt! Lori, thanks for the recipe! Jan, sounds like ya'll and probably everyone else up there are getting those extreme temps! DGS called Saturday, said they've been working 18 hours in blizzard conditions, temps in the minuses, trying to get all their vehicles loaded on the train to head to Ft Polk, La for Feburary training. My Kansas bunch is sending pictures from Disneyland in shorts, out on the beach in shorts, & was supposed to go watch Tiger Woods play yesterday at some golfing thing. It's in the 50's here. Talk to you all later. Love ya, Cindy
