Phyl, I quit going to meetings many years ago...probably in 2004. I know how to eat and don't need to sit in a meeting to find that out. Plus I was 20 lbs heavier when I was at my last meeting than I am now and they told me I had lost enough weight which I didn't agree with. I do find it strange that so many people lose weight on the new plan. With so many food being zero points I thought people would get carried away and eat too much and not lose but a friend on another thread works for WW and said that isn't the case so hopefully it's true. I hate to think of so many people wasting their money.
Meg, I'm sorry that you missed knitwits. I'm sure Janet's housemates will be thrilled if you are able to make them each an afgan. I know all the snow will be welcomed come spring when it provides needed moisture.
Sue, I get emails from the yarn companies and saw that it mentioned yarn being 40% off but I didn't even open it because, like Meg, I need to use my stash. Around here some people have had hawks and eagles attack their cats and small dogs. We once had a Groshawk slam in to our large window...same on I sit in front of...and it fell to the ground. I went out to see if it was dead and it must have just got stunned because when I approached it flew away.
CJ, yes we sometimes dread some seasons' arrival because of the problems it can involve and it sounds like air conditioning is a worry for you.Congrats on finding and being able to finish some of your old projects. I came across again, my old unfinished baby blanket for my cousin's "baby" who is now 46 years old. It's fun seeing those things. I know I'll never finish this blanket and it's made with the very fine baby yarn we used to use in the old days so I'll probably never use the yarn either so should donate it.An old friend from the old WW board sent me baby yarn because she knew I went to Caps for Kids and made hats so I took that yarn to the meeting and gave it to a woman there that did strictly infant hats. She was very happy with it.
Ginny, I hope you're having a good weekend and will be able to do some fun things.

Ok so here was my day. First off we stopped at Best buy- because Dd’s computer’s battery was not charging. We brought it in there to see if they could troubleshoot a bit- but a good possibility was that the charger (Cost 20-40$) simply failed. The young man from the “geek squad” cleaned the charger port, and then said that maybe he had another charger to test out the charger itself had failed. After trying numerous chargers....he came out with one- he plugged it in and voila, it worked and the laptop started charging!! I asked where in the store they sold chargers.....he smiled and said that they did not sell that charger anymore but that the spare that he got to work was “the charger that we came in with, right?” We smiled, said thank you quite a few times.....and walked out of the store smiling. We went into AC Moore too- total success there ( a story for another day) and then onto Davids Bridal. (We were 15 minutes early). The consultant came out quickly and we showed her pictures of Davids bridal dresses that Dd had seen online that she liked. Think she tried on 6 dresses- 3 of which were eliminated immediately. The first dress was magnificent- but I always felt was a bit too fussy for her. The middle dress was lovely- and a wee bit too simple. Dress #3.....pretty much the same as the first dress, just missing some of the fussiness- and once they put the veil on that was it! . In 45 minutes she had her dress picked out, giving us 45 minutes for Dd’s bridesmaids to select their dresses- which was supposed to be a separate appointment. So- in 90 minutes all 4 young women had dresses picked out, measurements done and Dd’s dress ordered! All the girls got along well- and were agreeable. No drama queens.....Thank you Lord. Dd knew she did not want a ball gown-and technically her dress is classified as a mermaid, but I do not see that. She was looking at A line gowns, and wanted a small sleeve and some lace. There is a minor amount of beading...just a little glitter....the perfect dress for her.

Good evening!
Sue, I did hear that the upper mid west was in the path of another winter storm. I am sure you are well prepared and are stocked up with the essentials (Dog food being on the top of the list!) . That is quite the story about the red tailed hawk- and yes stuff like that happens. Like you I wish the hawks would leave my bird feeder alone, so I can enjoy the little birds which are really defenseless. Hope you sleep well tonight!!!
CJ- think we got 5 inches of snow. Also powdery- easy to shovel. I hope that you do decide to complete that lighthouse cross stitch. Sounds like it means a lot to you and having that done and hanging on a wall would bring you great joy. It does feel awkward throwing out so much thread/DMC but they do swear that the stuff weakens with age. (Had to do the same with thread left by my mom). Think the overall take home message is to just keep that which brings joy to your life and is not a burden. Enjoy those cross stitch pieces that your father made- as I am sure they bring fond memories for you.
Ruth, you are not the first I have heard disagreeing with WW about their weight goals for members. The key to the new plan is to only eat if you are hungry- and no more than that. Yes it does work.....but portion control is key. I agree with everyone, the new meetings are too. “Tooty fruity” for me, not enough practical advice and too touchy feely. And I HATE connect- miss the boards something awful. But that is why we are all here.
Ok enough babbling from me. Have a good night all G

I had a wonderful uninterrupted night's sleep last night, complete with CPAP. I'm hoping for another night like that. I hope the woofers are paying attention!
This morning I went into town to have coffee with a friend. I needed a time out.
No hawks, rabbits or other interlopers in the back yard today!
My snow man's wife just had surgery for breast cancer in SLC. I don't know when he'll be back.

Just yesterday I mentioned on the other thread I post on that my computer charging cord wasn't working awhile back. It had bent right that that cylindrical thing and I think it kinked off and wasn't entirely intact. I asked my ds about it but without seeing it he couldn't be sure but he thought it was the charging port as he said that for most peole who had trouble with charging that was the problem. Well I have the thing with directv that covers my computers, tv, phones, etc so I called them told them I thought it was actually the cord so they said they would send a check to pay for a new one and she even told me about one on Amazon that I could order, said it was $20 but she was sending me $50. She said that they had to send $50. Ok so I went to Amazon, found one for $10 that I thought fit my computer. Got it and it fit and it worked just like the cord you got from Best Buy. This one is much sturdier at that connection than the old one was.So my computer expert son was thankfully wrong so simple fix. I'm glad you had equally good results and didn't even have to wait...And Even better that your dd was able to find a wedding dress for herself so easily and that they bridesmaid did also.what a huge part of the planning to have all figured out already!!! I'm happy for all of you.
Sue, when I need my time outs I just go to another part of the house or just wait till dh takes his naps. I hate going out.
OH and CJ, meant to mention how great it is that your father cross stitched. Just another example of how needlework of various kinds IS NOT just for women.
I now have several project on progress so I can switched from one to another. Usually when I get tired of working on the one that's the current one I just quit and do something else but now I can just switch to another crochet project and that way get more of my projects actually done.I worked on one of my famous or infamous hot pads this morning...going to send ddil a set of them as one of her bday presents...and then I worked on the hat I starte a couple evenings ago. I ran out of the yarn I was using but had intended changing to another color anyway and it ran out right at the end of a row so that worked out well.
I hope that everyone has a good sleep tonight.I had two nights this week with very poor sleep but last night was good for me too.

hb fell out of bed this morning and hit his forehead. Aside from a bump, he seems to be okay.
It's snowing a little bit. I'm going to go out and put the windshield wipers up. The temperature is 18 and heading for single digits.

Sue, I'm sorry to hear that you hub fell out of bed and I hope he's ok.
Ginny, have a good time watching Super Bowl with friends and family. I'm not going to watch it since they said that the entertainers were going to not stand for the national anthem. Dh doesn't like watching it anyway
