First day of the vegan sugar cleanse challenge is done. I could not eat all the food on the menu but did enjoy what I ate. I will make some of the recipes again in the future...maybe even for a Wednesday gathering. Today I think we will be buying a new coffee grinder...the hand grinder grinds too fine and though I could buy the beans ground I kind of like to grind them daily. We will see. Other than that...books to read, knee to baby, logistics of tomorrow (Wednesday) to figure out and all is well. Should also write a story or something for my granddaughter's to have and read this month.
CHERRY: I am glad you don't HAVE to go out unless you want to! Stay warm and safe and snug in your house. Are the new windows improving the warmth in your house?
BEVERLY: The soup kitchen/food line thing sounds interesting. Are there new people to meet running it or are these people you have known all along? I was thinking that instead of dreading weigh-ins we should look for a way to embrace them. Not sure HOW to embrace them but...there must be a way
LYNN: How wonderful to be retiring in less than a month! I bet your to-do list is filled with fun activities!
PAM: I hope you can get out and about and the snow won't keep you from doing the things you want to do.

Good morning. I do believe the new windows are a good improvement. I don't feel any air coming in around them like the old ones. Best of all I don't have to change from screens to storm windows every fall and spring.
It is cold again today, -16 right now. I'll probably go up after the mail later but I'm not looking forward to going outside. At least I have a car started so I can warm it up some before I go.
Nothing special on my schedule today, although I AM going to schedule in some exercise, probably 30 minutes worth, 10 minutes at a time. I've got to get started on this program somehow.
Yesterday Roger and I made some homemade bread using a bread machine that he had brought for me to use. We made his recipe for flax bread. We didn't finish it in the bread machine, we put it in a bread pan and baked it in the oven. It is really good.
Have a nice day, beaches.

Good morning friends,
Seems that the snow went south of us!! It snowed in northern Alabama & Georgia!! We got none, just cold this morning. We are supposed to have a couple of days of very cold temps, then back up into the upper 50's by the weekend!!
Not much on plan for today, I am still trying to get things back together from the painting of the 3 rooms. I am just re-arranging some pictures, and moving some of them from one room to another. I like to change things up a bit. I tell DH all the time that he is lucky that I haven't changed him out for a newer model. LOL
Speaking of DH, if I don't kill him before Friday, Feb 1st, we will have been married 55 years!! I can't believe it. We have had some bad years & some very good years, but here we are. We were practically strangers when we got married, we only knew each other for 3 weeks when we tied the knot. I was young (18) and very stupid, he was a handsome young (21) soldier. I don't think we were really in love, I think we were just in heat. LOL. Anyway, whatever it was, it has lasted a lifetime.
Have a great day everyone & stay warm.

Oh Bev...what a great story...Happy Anniversary! Cathy, I hope your new coffee grinder meets your expectations! Cherry, boy, is it cold where you live. We expect -15 here tomorrow. Pam, waving Hi!! I am Curves jealous!
It is supposed to snow a bit today and I will high tail it out of the office if it does. My pension stuff is almost done and I can make an appointment and retire in 2 weeks from then. Can't wait!! This is torture waiting for the end.
I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Cold and snowed in today. I think our errands can wait until tomorrow. Relaxing and reading today.
Beverly: I think you and your dh beat us. I arrived in Korea mid January we met and got married May 3rd. This year is 44 in May. We were both in our thirties and have never looked back. Sending congratulations to both of you this Friday.
Lynn: Glad everything is moving along with retirement. Sending positive vibes.
Cherry: Hope you are keeping well and warm. Sending positive vibes to you as well.
Cathy: I’m glad you’ve found some vegan recipes you like. I hope you’ll be able to share some. It sounds like you have a good plan.
