WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C95D1 (new cycle finally), 18 points, 4 rollovers, 7 water, 8 non core points, 1255 calories, 10,281 steps
table tennis, treadmill, beginners line dancing, walking to music at home
Jan – 5 chips… WTG. My kids are having similar weather in Columbus. I’m pretty sure their schools will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday). Today was relatively mild here, but I think we’re expecting colder temps and snow tomorrow. You seem to have a pretty good handle on the eating these days. Give yourself credit. We also watched Three Identical Strangers. Horrifying indeed.
Lori – Yes I’m enjoying the variation. It’s helping me to break some habits, like the root beer float every afternoon and some of the two points snacks. My non core points are mostly things like B&B, soup noodles and salad dressing. I did have two Kedem tea biscuits today and ½ cup dry Kix cereal but nothing more egregious than that. I’m also becoming less reliant on my evening snack. You’re doing great with the strength training. I’m still on again off again with the weights. Something to work on.
Cindy – Did you ever think of trying out the rowing machine when visiting DS? I think you might like it. Glad you’re feeling better and ready to restart the treadmill. Anxious to see the recipe. You and I have the same taste in foods. Hopefully no beans <g>.

Good morning. School was closed for today and tomorrow by 1:30 yesterday afternoon. Crazy. I’m thinking about Meg and her family in Chicago, I heard it’s -20° before the windchill factor.
Nancy, hooray for the new cycle! I think I’m also trying to break some habits with my eating. I’d love to lose about 5 pounds, but not enough to restrict my eating any more than I already am.
Lori, you’ll be happy with the difference you’ll see from doing weights and Pilates.
Cindy, I also think you’d like the rower. Give it a try!

Good Morning! We got about 6 inches of snow yesterday, nothing too bad...now bracing for the cold. Nothing like Chicago or Minnesota - can't even imagine...
Kathy, thinking of you and your family...hope your staying as warm as possible. Nancy, Congrats on new cycle!! Just switching up your snacks makes eating more enjoyable!! Love how you are getting your steps in - lots of variety!! You are doing Great!! I seem to be hooked on the WW 2 pt bars....trying not to make them a habit.... Jan, I think we will always have habits we want to break but I'm also at a point were I don't want to restrict my eating - I'm really enjoying the freedom (freestyle)!! Doing one or two days of MFP is enough for me...lol Going from MFP to Core is a joy...lol to have a piece of fruit and not have to worry about the calories is very freeing!! Mixing the exercise up has also been helping with not getting bored with the same routine...win win!! Cindy, thinking of you - enjoy your mild temps!!
Last night I had bread pudding for my snack, 4 sp - really enjoyed it. It fit in very well with my breakfast for dinner...lol It was very filling - next time I make it for a snack, I will 1/2 the recipe...The full recipe will make a great breakfast!!

Hi Girlfrends! Oh my goodness, hope all of you are staying warm up north! Just can't imagine. Thank goodness my DGS is on a plane right now headed for Ft Polk, La. According to Ft Drum this has been the worse weather in history loading train with vehicles, etc for training down south. What is the temps where you all are? Where does Kathy live? Oh, Lori, I love bread pudding, will copy and save because my resolve is not strong enough to not eat the whole thing right now. We had a Swadley's BBQ open here in town. They have the best tasting chicken ever! Have been going by there & getting a pound & dividing it out into daily portions. Just makes my mouth water thinking about it. Has really helped. DH loved it too. Nancy, I'll try to find that recipe of DS's. It's keto tacos. He has been using a lot of spices in his recipes. Yes, I'll have to try his rowing machine next time I go over. Do any of you have the recipe for the cauliflower mashed potatoes? Thought that would be great with my chicken. Off to treadmill! Love ya'll, Cindy
