We are a group working to declutter our spaces. Please feel free to share your goals, projects, ideas, revelations or challenges facing you as you work toward your own goals. Also feel free to copy and past this intro, use our "CLUTTERBUSTERS S.S." Title for the day to start the thread if you don't see it started.

Hello, I am a member on another board called, Flylady. We too are on a journey to bust clutter in our lives. However, I am not sure at this point if we will be moving over here. I have emailed my dear friend to see if she wants to continue as we are a very small group. So, if you don't mind, please don't be surprised if I jump on your "band wagon". I am starting a new job at the end of the month after 5 years in school and months of studying for a licensing exam, however, even with the extra time off of school, I did not bust clutter and now am feeling the panic of having to work full time again and care for my home. During the time I was in school, I just let it go as I was getting a BSW and MSW so now it is time to take control.
Hope to get to know you better this new year. Work for this week: continue decorating and then declutter the mess decorating is causing. LOL Cathy

Cathy, I hope you do join us. I am also a Flyer. I do a morning list and would be happy to post it and will be starting back to work full time in late January if not before.
Today - -Deal with the foundation contractor -Quotes from him to do the guest bath, some work in the kitchen -The bath installer is coming back to fix the shower. Strange but true.......... -Get the seat covers from the vehicles home and washed so that they can be put in the new car BEFORE a dog gets in it -Tractor pick up by dealership -That bookkeeping -Discuss the pump house floor with the contractor

Hello,
Is this the right place now? I so hope not to lose track of each other with these transitions! I am happy to have the boards though!
Cathy, I've seen your thread and contemplated posting there at times. I know FlyLady and I pick and choose what tips to apply and how from there. Please feel free to join us here! YOu have been very busy with all your school, remember, you can just start where you are, baby steps, don't panic!
I recently went through a 8-9 day purge/org that was an accumulation of about 10 years worth of stuff affecting a few closets, under beds and garage. It was quite an undertaking, successful though. Before that I had been addresseing many things, many smaller attacks/trips to donation station, shredding, recycling places, etc. Michelle has also been a very aggressive and successful CB streak, reorganiziont, updating, repair and maintenance phase having do to do with her house/property. I also recently attending an organizational seminar having to do with teens, etc. called "preparing to launch" and decided to move ahead with a 12 hour package deal, in blocks of three hours at a time, to help me help DD with her bedroom and the accumulation in there, she's 14. We've had one appointment, it went great, a lot left this house!! Need to schedule the next.
We post about projects, CB'ing but also daily routines, ToDos and TaDas!
I thought I had a PT appt. for my foot this morning but didn't, but that got me up and going.
TaDas: -took the other car to get oil change, new wiper blades, then to tire store to get them rotated. -while they put the car on the wait list I ran to Kinkos and got my X-mas card produced -returned an item to BBB -got more X-mas cards envelopes -picked up dinner items
ToDos: -get DD from the bus -clean up the kitchen -reboot laundry -possibly work on cards, but I cannot enjoy doing that if the kitchen is a mess -transfer DD's clothes to new hangers -send message to arrange transportation for Thursday for kids!

I'm working through my list, forgot DD was supposed to take cookies to a class tonight for a party...sigh...so I'm baking those. But the kitchen is clean!
Also, I forgot to say, I think the cards came out really cute, I will have to decide which ribbon/s to paint. I will only do one or two, probably, red and green, the card stock is a color called sandstone, which is the same color I always use, it's off white, w/little flecks.
I heard a rumor we can post pictures here. If that's true...I took before/after pics of my mess and clean up. I could share them possibly.
Later,
Z.

I was operating at about 50% today because that headache from yesterday persisted. Anyway I accomplished all the discussions with the remodeling contractor and now just need to get an email off to him so that he can give me a few quotes. He said all of the work can be done by the end of January but I am not too sure I can handle another bath remodel right now--maybe in a couple of weeks I will want to work on it. We'll see.
Accomplished: - The remodeling contractor's guy helped me fix a cabinet. It needed to be fixed "just so" and we managed to get there. I am very happy about that. - They started the foundation work which is nothing major and will come back on Wednesday to finish up. Also they will bring back the window that they took to get repaired. This is getting rid of some major stress because I want to get the house ready to sell and keep it that way. I just love my home and wouldn't think of moving but it is just so much fun!!! to live in a house that looks like it is ready for an "Open House" with all repairs made etc. Love, Love Love it! - Contractor looked at the floor of the pump house and said nothing needed to be done at all. That was music to my ears. It's just a little cracked on the side but not interfering with any of the well equipment. - Mended one of the car seat covers and got them washed. These are temporary. I ordered the right color today but will have to wait until mid January for the front seat ones. This color is OK for now. -Got one of my scarves shortened. It was way too long and I managed to get the fringe that I did to look like the one that came with the scarf. I have two more I want to do. -DrumrollXXXXX headache and all I got the SUV that is going to get sold detailed today. What a job! I will look at it again tomorrow to see if it all looks OK. This is the vehicle that we took up to the lake--wet dogs, pine needles etc. Such fun doing all that, fond memories. -The bath installer came out and got the shower head functioning again. Just need to clear out the sediment from the bottom of the water heater caused by the well water. Seriously.... A hose has to be attached to the water heater and the valve turned on and then the sediment at the bottom will come out of the hose and viola! a clean water heater. Nobody told me this before but I am up for it.
CB'd: - one glass - two cans of paint - one container of plant food - one container of oil
Tomorrow - Just going to work on the projects, no progress on that bookkeeping but needed to not have the headache to do that.
Z, How did the Christmas cards turn out? Fun to read your synopsis of your CBing. Great job!!!!!!
