WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

table tennis, treadmill, mall
Louise – Yes, as a lifetime member you are required to weigh in once a month. There is no charge as long as you remain within 2 lbs of your goal. All remaining meetings within the month are free of charge. I find the meetings to be extremely motivating and very informative. I attend meetings weekly almost without exception. As far as the screen size, you can hold down the control button while sliding up the roller on your mouse to make the text as large as you wish – roll it the opposite way to make the text smaller.
Lori – I’ve pretty much decided that the 2 pointer is not such a bad habit, especially with a glass of milk which is healthy. It’s kind of the same with my root beer float – a lot of bang for the 2 points. So I’m leaning more toward the combination of points and calories. A lot of my foods are core, especially the fruits and veggies but some lean protein as well and the lite bread and such. For variety I may try a seriously core day every now and then. It’s all good.
Cindy – Is this the recipe?
BEST GROUND BEEF TACO RECIPE (LOW CARB, KETO) INGREDIENTS TACO SHELLS • 6 Cheese Taco Shells (or your favorite) GROUND BEEF TACO MEAT • 1 pound lean ground beef • 1 recipe Low Carb Taco Seasoning(use 2 tbsp or all depending on your taste) • 2 tbsp tomato paste • 1/2 cup beef broth (or 1/2 cup water with 1/2 tsp beef base) • salt and pepper to taste TOPPINGS (USE WHAT YOU LIKE)
• 2 cups chopped lettuce • 1 medium avocado, sliced (toss with lemon or lime juice) • 1/2 cup salsa • 1/2 cup sour cream • 1/2 cup shredded cheese • 1/4 cup purple onion, minced • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped (optional) INSTRUCTIONS PREPARATION: 1. Wash and chop lettuce and cilantro. Slice avocado and toss with lemon or lime juice to prevent browning. Mince onion. Have salsa, sour cream and shredded cheese ready. METHOD: 1. Crumble the ground beef into a cold pan and turn the heat to medium. Working continuously, break-up the ground beef with a spatula or a wedge shaped wooden scraper/spoon, until it is very fine in texture. 2. Stir the taco seasoning into the ground beef and cook until fragrant. Add the tomato paste and stir. Add the beef broth (or water and beef base) and simmer until almost absorbed. Aim for a moist but not wet mixture. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. ASSEMBLY: 1. Divide the seasoned taco meat evenly between the 6 cheese taco shells. Fill the shells with your favorite toppings. Enjoy! 2. Makes 6 tacos. Each taco is 5 g net carbs when made with the ingredients shown. 3. (The ground beef will keep up to 5 days in the refrigerator if made in advance and freezes well. I often make a double batch and freeze half.)

TGIF! This week has gone surprising fast, unlike the month of January, lol. As promised, I stuck to mainly Core foods yesterday, despite several temptations to deviate from my plan. Today will be a repeat, hopefully with a little less food overall. I seemed hungrier than usual yesterday.
We had an exciting meet last night, and our team won after a final nail biting match. Alex won his match with a pin, after almost getting pinned himself. Tomorrow will hopefully be a long day of wrestling. As long as our team keeps winning, we keep wrestling. Not sure what I’ll do for food tomorrow.
Nancy, what a nice amount of food for the calories and points! And look at you, another day with 10k+ steps.
Louise, nice to see you.
Cindy, I’m not a huge fan of the keto diet, but I do think whatever helps a person lose weight is a good thing.
Lori, of all the times for your heat to go out! I’m trying to find gratitude each day, and a warm house is one thing that’s come to mind this week. What did you do for dinner last night?

TGIF!! Today is colder than yesterday... -8 this morning!! I really enjoyed dinner last night. The company and the food. I ordered something different - it was called chicken napoli, it looked like the chicken was coated with flour -the description was sauteed chicken in a light lemon/wine sauce with a splash of cream, spinach over angel hair pasta. It was delicious, mindfully ate 1/2 - looking forward to leftovers! I have no idea how many points or calories - estimated and moved on... For my dessert last night, I cut the bread pudding recipe in half - delicious, satisfying 2 point dessert!!
Nancy, I agree - the WW 2 point bar is not a bad habit and if it helps me not binge, it's worth it!! Especially now that they did away with the artificial flavors, colors, and sweeteners! Yesterday's menu was spot on!! Jan, What an exciting match!! Congrats to Alex! Hope tomorrow's tournament goes well!! I was very grateful yesterday - DH was able to solve the problem and it didn't cost anything... Cindy, I work at a private day/boarding school - Blair Academy! It's a beautiful campus with students from all around the world (23 states and 26 countries represented) 460 students total. I count my blessing everyday to work in such a Wonderful environment.
This week I changed up my meals and snacks quite a bit - it will be interesting to see how the scale reacts....
Have a great Friday everyone! Lori

Nancy, here's what he e-mailed me today, not the normal looking recipe, but.... i'm just flabbergasted at DS cooking nowadays. (g) I'll have to copy the one you have on here for him too for something different.
Keto Tacos Pan on medium heat. 1tablespoon extra virgin olive oil, let warm up a minute Or so. Add Diced onions (amount up to you) Stir around in pan with olive oil.
When onions just start to sizzle a little, add spices: 1 teaspoon per ½ lb of Hamburger meat: ground cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper and oregano.
Dice/chop up romaine lettuce and spinach & mix together (I do a plate full For 4 tacos and it just the right amount for me)
Dicer tomatoes, shredded cheese (kraft is the best to me), picante sauce
Once the meat is ready I usually turn the burner down low to keep it Somewhat warm as I fix each taco. I really like the “Mission” brand Carb balanced wheat tortillas, they have white also but never tried them.
I usually heat another pan to just below medium heat & lay one tortilla On it for about 10 seconds and then turn over for another 10 seconds To warm and soften tortilla.
Put tortilla on plate then add meat, cheese, lettuce spinach, tomato, Picante…eat….repeat….eat etc. (4 tacos)
Lori how exciting!! Can tell you love it! That means so much, when one loves there job. Jan, can also tell you love your too. Until tommorrow! Love ya'll, Cindy
