WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C95D4, 17 points, 4 rollovers, 8 water, K9:30-6, 1243 calories
Just treadmill today
It was a really good week. 21 unused weeklies, 13 unused rollovers, 5 days under 1250 calories, 4 days of over 10,000 steps, K closed on schedule, no binges, nothing isolated. Hoping for a good WI if I can clear my car off in time for the meeting.
Jan – How exciting. Those events have to be so much fun to watch. The winning is the icing on the cake. Leila has another pole vaulting event in our area tomorrow (Sunday) but I think it starts at 8 AM. Too early for this Grandma. They’ll call if her part comes up a bit later. Did you notice that Cory Booker is running for President and that he’s a Vegan? So am I right that you eat no dairy, no eggs, no cheese, no meat, fish or chicken?
Lori – What sort of changes did you make to meals and snacks? More or less restrictive than before?
Cindy – Thanks so much for the recipe. I like it better than the other one.

Good morning. I’m up early to fit my run in before a day of watching wrestling. Here’s hoping they wrestle all day, it’s done by team today and not individual. We’re seeded third out of 10 or 12 teams. I’ve packed chick pea Greek salad, a protein drink, and plenty of fruit for the day.
Lori, I’ve been eating some different things this week too. It’s good to mix it up once in a while.
Cindy, I really do love my job. The people make it worth it.
Nancy, I was excited to hear about Cory Booker. I’ve always liked him. I didn’t realize he’s vegan. I’m pescatarian (vegetarian), so I eat dairy, eggs, and fish. The main reason I eat eggs is because we have our own chickens and I know how they’re treated. I won’t eat eggs from chickens who are jammed in tiny cages. I hope you can see some pole vaulting today. I will sorely miss watching Alex compete in his various sports when he graduates.
Btw, do you remember the whole fiasco with our soccer coach? He resigned just after the new year! Our new athletic director ( whom I still don’t like) sent an email to the soccer team. He’s chosen a parent delegate to help in hiring a new coach. I think he’s learning, which is promising.

C39. D1. Starting fresh this morning. My weigh in was not horrible! I was dreading it, but I only gained 1#. I'm giving myself kudos for stepping on the scale. I'm home this weekend and travel 2-3 days next week and with my DD who is home from college for a week's break. Then I will take a couple days off.
Nancy - you had a letter perfect week! That's great! Hope you can get to a meeting and weigh in.
Jan - I'm totally with you on the eggs and agree that if people knew how eggs were produced, they wouldn't eat them. My DH is kind and caring toward all our animals, but not sentimental. When he had to go to a confinement egg producing facility some years ago he completely stopped eating eggs, not for any philosophical reason, but because he couldn't believe the conditions and it turned him off. We have our own chickens too.
Lori - It sounds like you work at a beautiful place! Hopefully you get to know some of the students as well. Has our polar vortex moved to your part of the country? We are at 10 degrees above 0 this morning and that is the warmest in many days!
Cindy - that sound like a great recipe for tacos. Hope you are doing well and getting in some time on your treadmill.
I hope EDESIA checks in! It's Saturday!
My house is waking up already.
My plan - DRINK water. TRACK all food. EXERCISE on stationary bike.
Have a great Saturday all!!!
Kathy

Hi Gals! Nancy, wow DGD pole vaulting! It's something what all our kiddos can pick from nowadays. The little country school I graduated from only had basketball, of course this was back in the dark ages! Jan, have a good time at wrestling! Sounds like you're packed & ready. I can remember when we had chickens when I was growing up among all other animals, probably like you do Kathy. I was raised on a "hard working" farm. (don't think there's any other kind) From sun up until dark for sure. Kathy, know you are looking forward to DD coming home. Always loved it when my DS's came home from college. Well got a lot of domestic engineering to do today! It's supposed to be in the 70's here Monday & Tuesday, then chance of snow Fri. That's why we have so much flu and allergies here! Love ya'll, Cindy

Happy Saturday!! Very happy with my weigh in 139.4. Nancy, I was a little concerned since I was eating leftovers from AC all week plus went out to dinner Thursday night. The different snacks were the bread pudding , banana muffins and the mug cake and lunch one day was pizza...just not the norm...I was very pleased! You had a Great week!! Hope you were able to get to your meeting and the weigh in went well! Jan, hope the wrestling is going well! Great that you fit in your run and are bringing healthy choices with you! It was really nice to see the different choices fit very well into my week and the scale liked it also...Good news regarding soccer! Kathy, Great mindset!! You deserve kudos! Enjoy your time with DD...I think we got a taste of your weather and I have to say...I didn’t like it much...lol I enjoy the 4 seasons but more on the mild side... Cindy, Wow, that’s a big fluctuation in weather...I do like the sound of 70....
Have a great day everyone! Lori

Down 1.8 – Right at what I consider to be my personal goal, i.e 5 lbs lower than my official goal rate. I’ll be happy to maintain, but I won’t argue with another 5 lbs <g>.
Jan – Yes I do remember about the coach. Hopefully you’ll get a really good one as a replacement. Can’t wait to hear how the wrestling meet went. I also like Cory Booker. It’s turning out to be the most interesting election ever. So you eat everything but meat and chicken?
Kathy – How wonderful that DD will be traveling with you. Nothing like a little quality time. Enjoy!!
Cindy – We had opposite life styles. I grew up right in NYC.
Lori – Fabulous WI. You are the maintenance Queen!!

Hi Girlfriends! WOOHOO Nancy and Lori on the weight!!!!!!! I lost 2 lbs this week, but would have done better if hadn't raided DH's chips during the week. He keeps his chips and bread in the back of our walk-in closet in a filing cabinet. Sneaky me at night goes in with a bowl & grabs some out when he's asleep. He does find out the next day. Need to get an alarm that goes off when closet door is opened. Wonder if they make them?! Jan how exciting!! STATE Tournament! Wow! Off to read the paper. Sure was a lot sick today at church. It seems like spring. They always say if you don't like Okla weather, stick around it can change in a day. Love ya'll, Cindy
